I think you nailed it, with nice strait lines, and without all the goofy curvy tilty distorted shapes, associated with modern! Really love the panel van version with no back windows! You can not find a car or truck these days with a door that's strait up & down so when you open it to get in, the top of the window hits you in the chin. There making it look like aerodynamics, but it's just styling without ergonomics, and Volkswagon actually bucks that trend!!! How refreshing! Please bring this to the United States, Damnit!!!!
Beautiful model, we must remember that the original models VW KOMBI T1, T2, T3. its center of gravity is high, these vans are used for the camping, adventure and out of the way, that's success, as well as the strength and simplicity of his suspension. if this new model does not keep the same benefits and not have the success with previous vans.

I like its simple and clean looks... I like the dash... simple and clean... and you even get a stick type trans lever... remember... this is not a racer, crossover, suv... it's a van for people... and maybe can be used as a cargo van if the seats are removable/fold able... cheers!

I love to see VW bring back the Van concept the original VW van was a really neat vehicle. I hope they make a high ground clearance version with the same off-road rugged capability of the original.
This T1 revival concept is an excellent retro design. Reminds me a lot of original VW bus or kombi. Been waiting for this to come into production, however, there should be a self charging hybrid format. I'm sure it would be a top seller !!!
When will car manufactures get it. People want original model designs again brought into the new era. Stop changing the designs. Bring them back exactly as they were from the 50's-70's, and not just for this car but most all of them. The billions you would make is unreal. Then do it again a few years later with electric/hydrogen cars and you'll double the profits again.
I don't know if it's true but someone told me years ago that car mfr.s are not allowed to re-manufacture old designs with new technology but he didn't tell me why. My guess -- and that's all it is -- is that it may have somthing to do with copy-rights? I mean, why did Toyota stop producing the land cruiser? It certainly wasn't for lack of sales!
@ivao04ify I half agree with you. I love the old designs. I recently bought and restored some things from 1968, 66, 33. Yes they aren't the most efficient but are cheaper than buying a new car and if I convert to electric, is even more cost efficient. I also love NEW designs, but new is defined as something different. The normal cars nowadays look so generic. I couldn't tell a Tesla model S from a Mazda. Some people will complain about air drag. Kombi's and Beetles hid coefficients of .7 but its irrelevant if you're driving around at 30-60kph. Personally, I AM going to get what you recommended, a new vehicle but still maintaining the old design. A royal enfield classic 350.
The VW KOMBI could actually still maintain the original out shape by simply moving the front seats back a little to allow for a crumple zone, add a reinforced boot to the front and add air bags. I'm not sure why VW didn't think about that. It will be harder to look at the front angle a little but try driving on a conventional sedan. You will have less visibility of driver to road than a kombi with the driver placed a little further back.

Why do they have to add ugly every time they re-launch a modern version of a classic? Does modern safety standards absolutely require everything to be a bulky plastic monstrosity. Cant they just reinforce the old design and add a modern engine in the back?
I'm convinced that car manufacturers don't listen to the public. We want them to replicate the originals, just make them better running, safer and reliable! We want them to look exactly like the original models, from VW' s to Chevy's and others. Quit putting your own new design touches. Examples: VW Bus, VW Bug, Chevy Camaro & Impala( anything from 1958 to 1966).... Not to forget 1954-1957 Ford T-Bird. All classic designs that cannot be improved.

10/10 would buy! Volkswagen probably won't risk another retro-design in the coming years, but when they are ready I almost can't imagine them not calling you for some help. Judging by the realistic concepts you make, is this also your (ultimate) goal?

Front light vertical arrangement reminds me of old Fiat 600 Multipla. The modern headlamp units look similar to modern Fiat 500 / and that silly ballooned cross over version. Size difference to original VW is striking - every market now has to have supersized cars no matter how narrow their roads.

Sigman Floyd , I'd say the more likely reason is that those older designs wouldn't hold up with how they require crumple zones that work .

In new model outer size is bigger (more problems with parking and rotating in tight places), but inner size is smaller.
