- Third single from The Aristocrats' album "DUCK"
Order here: linktr.ee/Aris...
The Aristocrats are: Guthrie Govan (guitar), Bryan Beller (bass), Marco Minnemann (drums).
--
What happens when the world’s most raucous rock/fusion instrumental power trio decides to make a concept album? You get "DUCK", the story of a web-footed Antarctic island native fleeing a penguin policeman all the way to New York City…where considerable misadventure and danger await. The Aristocrats - Guthrie Govan/guitar, Bryan Beller/bass, Marco Minnemann/drums - have created a kaleidoscopic musical universe, employing both trademark genre pastiches and inventive new arrangement explorations - some surprisingly emotional and sensitive - to move the story along to its frantic conclusion. And while their obvious virtuosity and inherent absurdity are present as always, it’s now employed in service of the band’s most ambitious compositional and sonic production to date.
“We’ve always been writing with a storytelling aspect in mind, and our live shows always include our stories behind the songs,” says the band, speaking as one. “But the stories had mainly been about us. Then Marco came into the studio with a song about a duck, and we were all looked at each other and said, ‘What if all of stories for the songs on this album…happened to a duck? What’s that story about?’ And suddenly we had a concept album on our hands.”
The wildly diverse music follows the protagonist duck into a big city dance club (“Aristoclub”) to being forcibly ejected from a dive bar (“Hey, Where’s MY Drink Package?”) to a dark-riffed theme for his penguin pursuer (“Sgt. Rockhopper”), eventually concluding with the action-packed, Balkan-fusion finale “This Is Not Scrotum”, featuring violinist Rusanda Panfili (Hans Zimmer Live) as a rare Aristocrats album special guest.
Mixed by Australian sonic guru Forrester Savell, and with original character artwork by Lance Myers (Space Jam), "DUCK" is The Aristocrats’ first new studio album in five years. And it’s clear that Guthrie Govan, Bryan Beller and Marco Minnemann have taken their collective artistry to a whole new mindblowing - albeit ridiculous - level.

Okay, I'll say it: This world needs some instructional / teaching videos from Bryan.
That bass tone 👌😩
seriously
Rocky Hopper is a Sargeant down in Texas. (👏👏👏👏👏). You know he knows just exactly what the facts is. He ain't gonna let that duck escape justice. He makes his living off of other bird's taxes.
4 the love of duck! This is ducksterpiece!
Ducking aye!
duckin' duck
Bryan Beller's bass is massive. He's amazing as everyone else. What? A power trio? My god. It sounds an orchestra.
2:50 This part reminds me of Sweaty Knockers, the way Guthrie and Bryan build up the tension while Marco goes crazy
I especially like the part of 2:50 where Marco does a standard 4/4 groove against Guthrie and Bryan’s rhythm, which he also does frequently in Sweaty Knockers
TBH..Lots of things remind me of sweaty knockers
@@pm9928I like perky sweaty knockers
My goodness, how I love this music. Hits my head just right.
An album so good, I bought it twice.
Great notes and mixed really well
4:10 that riff!! Eric Johnson vibes but in a Guthrie Style, what a nice melody and playing!!
The reverb/delay works really well with it.
I’ll be seeing them tonight at the Mill Valley show. Fourth time.
Starts out as a sort of "My Sharona" on acid and then it goes on a crazy journey with stellar performances by Guthrie and Marco and an ultra-stellar performance by Bryan. I like this song sooo much!
Guthrie - an English gent who plays like an otherworldly earth-conquering MONSTER!!
He's half Scottish (of course) and we claim to be his source of stratospheric talent (of course) Guthrie GOVAN (hello.....Scottish) His father was a Scot and Guthrie is just like his dad (every Scotsman will tell you so) all we Scots do agree with the rest of your statement though 😁
This is amazing! Very refreshing rock music!
holy cow
Duck, but I bet you can't cover 😁
go go go duck
Yesssssssss
After hearing this i hate my guitar........
I LOVE that melodic theme that starts at 4:10

Who can take a sunrise...
For Ducks sake!!!
Definitely a Govan composition. Sounds like stuff from his solo album
Anyone else wake up to their pre-order this morning?? Great way to start a Friday!!
Some really good tracks on this new album!! Will be on replay for the next couple days!!
Crankin' this in my shop while I work. Awesomeness.
Making my way through the new album... sooooooo delicious and typically astounding! Buy it right now mofos, and go get tickets for the next time they in your neighbourhood.... this shit is only once or twice per lifetime, especially as they get bigger and bigger....
Stop telling people about them 😜
Zeppelin go jazz funk. I love it. The tones you achieve, Mr Guthrie, are just obscenely amazing! I also have a massive admiration for your tremolo arm technique. Drums and bass too - mighty tighty!
👽
I like👍
what the duck
That bass tone is like a regular kick ass bass tone that is dragging around a bag of nickels. Love it. The whole thing kicks.
It's better Geddy than Geddy 😅
Eine sehr interessante Ton- und Taktfolge. Ob Donald Duck auch in derart Musikalisch gewesen ist ? ich bezweifle das. Ihr gefällt mir. Es ist irgendwie Musik für Musiker. Da bin ich dabei.
I just unboxed my Duck last saturday - first Impression: harder, louder, more angular, but still AristocratsAristocratsAristocrats. Interesting thing is: it's easier to discern who wrote what, not only because the liner notes would tell you. Especially the three songs, Guthrie contributes still have that certain Erotic Cakes melodic touch. Take this Sgt.Rockhopper as an example. Any dissenting opinions right here?
Slideshow is quite different than the other 2 Guthrie songs, one of the more unique songs in The Aristocrats discog
@@SnowTheJamMan Yes, it might be quite different, but in a sense in which Rhode Island Shred differed from Fives e.a. It's the melodicity that ties the Govan songs together.
Holy duck! 👍 This is great stuff.
Time signature anyone? The sites are saying 3/4 but I’m getting 5/4 vibes with varying tempo.
Tempo isn’t the word here. Tempo refers to how many beats per minute, which is staying the same. The main lines in the beginning are in 6/4 but there are many bars later on that …. Arent that
Ridiculous guys top class! Just sic 🎉
Love it! My copy arrived in the mail today!!
Tre men do !
LTE but more craze, some Special Providence
Does anybody know if this album will be on spotify? They said it was coming the 16th, but nothing yet.
yes but the band decided to delay the release on streaming platforms. Don't know when it'll be available but guess we'll have to wait
I am a Aristocrats Fan since Like 2012 or so. And i think Guthrie really really found his Sound now. If that makes any Sense. He sounds harder, dirtier and more Rock. Now if that makes any Sense.
