Beautiful work and thank you for sharing your tips!❤
Susan, thank you for sharing your talent . I loved the bolo.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Great video!
Great work.
I'm a beginner silversmith and am going to make my son a similar bolo - an arrowhead shape with a unakite stone. What gauge silver sheet do you use for the back? I was thinking 20 ga.
g showman 20 gauge or if you plan on stamping, you may want to consider 18 gauge
I absolutely love this! I visited your Etsy website and there’s nothing there. I was wondering if you still make bolo ties? I have a wedding next Fall and was wanting a custom Moss Agate bolo tie to match with my fiancée’s engagement ring stone.
Susan that is beautiful. How do you know how much cord to cut for it? Thank you!
On the average it will be around 42" for a man and a little smaller for a woman.
How long should I cut the cord
How many mgs. is your back plate. For making a 2 nich x 1 1/2 inch Bolo tie?
Where did you get that metal stamping stool? Very nice work!
You can get the steel block and the rubber block at Michaels or Hobby Lobby
Thanks for the reply but I meant to say the actual stamping tool you hit with the hammer to make the patterns. Very cool.
jms6683 you can go to Danny Wade on Facebook and get stamps from him
So u dont soulder the bolo back to the front part..I noticed u said u glue
Yes you can glue it. The bolo clip can’t be soldered unless it’s silver or copper.
What kind of metal is the sheet metal?
Sterling silver
Oh no!!! Glue!!? Such a beautiful heirloom quality piece of art, except the glue!!! Mark may not be right on this one. This could last a hundred years, or more, but not the glued on part. Noooooo!
What’s another option for attaching the stainless steel back?
I think it’s a good idea. I can see the spring mechanism wearing out over time and this way it would be easier to replace!
