Always glad to see a video from you guys.
I have an issue I notice from the trailer.
Chiwetel Ejiofor, who is NOT playing his Baron Mordo character from the Doctor Strange movies in this movie, strolls up to a bar and traps the little drop of Venom Symbiote that Eddie left behind at the end of No Way Home. That scene took place in the MCU. The bartender in the shot in the trailer had a whole conversation with Eddie at the end of No Way Home about the Avengers. They specifically speak about Iron Man, Hulk and Thanos. And then Eddie gets magically transported back to his own dimension without paying the bill. That’s how No Way Home ended. This trailer now makes it seem like that scene took place in Sony’s universe... even though those two characters were actively conversing about the Avengers. The ending of No Way Home pretty perfectly set up a way for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker to get the symbiote, and now it feels like Tom Rothman swooped-in and said “Nah!” rendering Eddie’s cameo in No Way Home entirely pointless.
I also noticed the hippy playing guitar isRhys Ifans. That same actor played Curt Connors/The Lizard in both the Andrew Garfield Spider-man series and No Way Home. I’m guessing, based on his shaggy appearance and having two functioning arms, that he is not playing Curt Connors here.
Venom reminds of a 90s made comic movie and Sony seems to have perfected that generic look and feel. Sony gives me the impression that they make movies knowing they will make money outside the US. Audiences in many foreign markets where English is a second or third language, won't rip apart the movie so much. They will see it as what it is, silly entertainment. They do not care about continuity with the MCU and they know the average movie watcher won't know or care either.
Sony Pictures CEO Tony Vinciquerra discusses the use of AI in upcoming films and TV shows. Says the company is "very focused on AI," in an official statement. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Vinciquerra made the remarks during an investor conference in Japan on Thursday, May 30. "We'll be looking at ways to use AI to produce films for theaters and television in more efficient ways, using AI primarily," Vinciquerra said. Regarding the resolutions that were reached during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, Vinciquerra noted, "The agreements that came out of last year's strikes and the agreements that will come out of the IATSE and Teamster [negotiations] will define roughly what we do with AI."

Trash trash and more trash. I stopped caring after the first film. It’s such a waste of Tom Hardy’s time and talent but if he likes it, I love it. I hope you all react to the alien trailer. It was dope

We couldn't do the Alien trailer cause Mike doesn't do horror. I was working on getting him to see if he would be down and he was like NOPE. I will be watching Romulus when it drops but I may have to get someone else on the review.
Back to Sony's Non Spidey Universe with Venom. It is really strange how these movies are coming together. Michael and I are trying to figure are they just making movies to keep the license or are they making movies with $100 million dollar budgets to steal money under the table? I loved what Tom Hardy did with the character but these movies are not up to par with what the MCU is doing and it is really weird they keep making them!

Is it though? They still have the Bad Bunny and Silk movie coming after Kraven is released.
