This seems like a good option even though I don't recall ever to have eaten this version.
It would help to give measures for home cooking which ate in much smaller portions thus especially the water ratio to rice is what I am interested in.

1:2.5 will be the ratio of rice to water. However , you must first wash and soak the Basmati Rice for atleast 15 minutes. Also the water can be between 2-2.5 cups depending on the age of the rice.
Also you can give the Yogurt/Curd a miss, as mostly it is not used in the preparation of Bagara Rice. You could however squeeze some fresh lime juice, 1 lemon juice of small size will suffice for 1 kg of rice.
