There’s a Libby’s Mediterranean casserole with leftover Turkey on Pinterest we love. This is one reason I am watching this to get the tips on canning my own Turkey meat. I got it for cheap and it’s waiting for me to put it up.
I am from Turkey. We say that bird hindi (indian) but Indians say piru ( Peru ). This very interesting. The important thing is now season of eating this animal because weather is cold.
Have you ever made scrapple? It freezes well and is a good hearty food! Also do you ever use herbs when canning meat? With goats meat we use garlic and rosemary.
This might not bee a beekeeping video lol but u was given a old hive with lots of over drawn comb should I ree frame or leave it bee lol lots of bee puns 🤣
I'm confused. I thought you had to cook meat first. Also, no liquid? I want to can meat for my husband (i hardly ever eat anymore) but he says no. I do make bone broth and give to my kids as well. Love canning.
There are a few different ways to can meat. This method is known as cold pack or raw pack and the meat actually cooks while it being canned in the pressure canner :)
I love to can. We moved into our old farm house the previous home owner purchased a stove with the flat glass top. I can't pressure can on it because it doesn't maintain the temperature/heat needed for the pressure canner. We have a very similar camp stove. You just reminded me of it in this video. I'll need to pull it out, and use it for canning.
We have a glass top stove as well and I would love to switch it over to gas, but we decided to purchase the outdoor camp stove and it’s been a game changer!
@@TheHoneystead The outside camp stove will have to do for now. We checked into having gas run into the house, a bit pricey. Then you have the stove, and water heater to purchase. Possibly something to look at again in 5 years or so. Right now there are other priorities on the homestead.
Can’t beat a deal like that. . Watching some of the Live again, saw you asking who won the Hive tool. It is a Beekeeper I know In Winston-Salem NC Brian Carlton. Thanks again Kaylee. . Hopefully you get some visits on your shop, Had your shop link in chat.
Yeah I couldn’t pass that up! I did a price breakdown on how much we spent per meal and it’s crazy to think about the cost savings! Oh yay!!! I hope they enjoy it!
If you get turkeys bred to be good foragers, you barely have to feed them. Turkeys are one of my favorite things to raise! Can't pass up a good grocery store deal though.
Oh I have to get a pressure canned lol there was a special deal at store on thanks giving I literally went to 3 stores( only allowed to buy 1) and bought turkeys at .39 lb I just shoved in freezer until I could cook it..you are smart!!
😆😆I did the same thing saw .49 cents a pound😳 couldn't walk past it.. I tried lol but I dont have canning equipment so in the freezer. But did cook one for turkey avocado sandwiches and soup.. tastes even better when it's such a great price😆 Have a good day ❄❄❄
I have always cooked my turkey first, just because I am too lazy to try to cut it off the bones while raw. I may try that next time. That is a totally awesome price for turkeys!! The sound disappeared when you went in the office.
Lovely as allways 😊 I have caning on my todolist. Right now we are working to reduce our population of young bores. Worrying about my bees, since it alternates between plus and minus degrees. Wintersowing flowers and fruits. Do to Covidrestrictions I missed out on HiveLife conference.... I wished so to meet you and your mum. Looking at my sows, wondering if there will be pigglets. Thanks for showing that belly! I am having something similar here. Sending you lot's of love from Sweden! I have missed watching you forsome time.
Loved watching you with your mom. So fun in your kitchen together! This was exactly what I needed to see today as I just got a pressure canner! You make this seem so easy! And I loved it when you said you introduced your mom to TikTok. :) I will go check out that account!
As always, you two are down home style, simply amazing...I am Hungry mid-afternoon🤤🤤I have tried to contact your friend Alex and Commission some pieces from her. No response just yet.
I never thought to cold pack turkey, I have always canned up my turkey after roasting. It makes wonderful turkey gravy over mashed potatoes or a good pot of turkey soup or even yummy turkey pot pie... Yum. Great price too, unfortunately, my freezer was already so full that I could not purchase more than a couple turkeys when they were on sale. Next year I will be more prepared. ~SuzyJC-in-Pataskala-Ohio/USA_02.03.2022~
Mom is super handy with that knife! 👏 👏 👏
YOU LADIES ARE ALL OVER IT, THANK YOU!! OLD GUY!!

You all do so much prep work and I'm all about it! I've been looking at knives and wondered what brand you like using?

Chicken shepherd’s pie is one we are partial to.
Would love to see you freeze dry that turkey meat and bone broth as well.
I purchased one just to freeze dry :)
Wow. Wonderful stuff.
The aluminum foil on the slow cooker I will not do.

Nice to see you again. Good video, Mother and daughter meat up. God Bless you. Keep safe through the storm.
Since you were cold packing and pressure canning, you didn’t need to heat up the jars :)
I've learned so much from you n your mom just the short time I've been here
Thank you both for sharing n still learning with is
Oh. We can using pink Himalayan exclusively since 2019. What is bad about it?
I’m going to do more reading on that, because that mainly what I use!
@@TheHoneystead I'll look more into it too!

That’s wonderful. Saves time.
How wonderful to still have your mother to help you! You are a lucky woman!💖
I can’t wait to learn how to pressure can , always enjoy your videos …. Peace ☮️ Love ❤️ and Light 💡
I want the bone broth. Please do not skim the fat off. The is where all the nutrients are.
Never had canned meat interesting
I’ve noticed when pressure canning burger deer or beef. You lose the favor of the meat. Has anyone else noticed this? I only use canning salt
