I always opt out but have been punished for choosing to opt out. I was punished by having to wait 10-15 minutes by the scanner for a male TSA agent to frisk me. During that time I was physically separated from my carry on bag with iPad and iPhone both of which could have been stolen. This is my main concern since I always allow at least two hours to pass through security as I plan to opt out. I know the TSA agents hate to frisk people and one male TSA screener gave me the roughest frisk search with open hands touching my crouch and my anus. I did not make an issue of this because not missing my flight was more important. I understand the need for security screening of passengers and I don’t mind the pat down frisk if I opt out of the scanner but I do mind the long wait and separation from my personal property. How should I handle this wait and separation from my property? One screener told me for opting out I take the risk that my items will be stolen. If I have the right to opt out then just quickly frisk me so I can get on my way.
Thank you, i get concerned about that much energy in such a short amount of time. I know its the equivalent of a 6 hour flight but the dose on the scanner is much more concentrated.
actually theres two things wrong with your answer. 1 you don't get scanned coming IN to the UK, only going out. 2. you have the right to opt out in the uk as well www.gov.uk/airport-rights . Its asinine to assume that because someone has safety concerns about these frankly untested machines, that they are automatically a criminal. Interestingly Australia, which also employs these vile devices, does not offer the opt out- meaning if you are "randomly selected" to be subjected to their emanations, you have no right of opt out. Worrying indeed. Think twice before going to or through Australia
Opting out is easy and painless. I opt out all the time, and I have never been harassed or abused in the slightest -- but make sure the screener brings your carry-on over with you so you don't lose sight of it!
Nupetiet this is the problem I have experienced. I am forced to wait a long time for some male TSA agent to frisk me while my carry on property sits unattended on the conveyor belt from which I am physically separated. Any one could steal my property.
Everything Cool the body acanner provides a perfect nude image with 2 seconds of photoshop and irradiates you. So if you're not interested in being in porn for some perverts, opt out. There have been numerous cases of irradiation and clusters of cancers with TSA agents. The machines are extremely dangerous and frankly i wouldnt be in the same room as one if I have a choice.
@@v0lts The scanner is safe to use. The scanner uses non- ionizing radio wave technology to scan you. You will however receive your fair share of radiation in the plane as you will be closer to the sun and no the outer shell of plane does not filter all the radiation out.
Thank goodness for this, I'm not going through those horrible radiation scanners.
I don’t know what to do? I’m going to an airport the day after tommorow and I need to opt out, please help me

This is ridiculous since 30% of your flight ticket cost is TSA. They do this to punish you for opting out.
simple answer is just to do it unless you're a smuggler
It's entirely intimidation and coercion.

Same here, I've seen all the videos/reports on a dangers of these horrible devices. I'm always opting out.
Now, I am calculating how much radiation dose I taken. Anyway, refuse it from now on.
Lily Paul just being in the same room is dangerous.
@@puppycasey8883 they say you get more radiation in the plane in the sky
The only way I will fly is if I have to for work. In any case, I will opt out every time.

+Everything Cool what, just walk past airport security and decline any screening? I'm very skeptical that this works out for anybody ;-)

You do the screening and you still have a pat down
How much radiation have we all been exposed to?
How does everyone know this is safe
By not flying.
This video should not be on here. The technology has changed now using a different viewing image to check results of your scan.
so what is it safer now?
