If I were Ben I would just stay. He makes more money than any grounded person would need. Beware the lessons of Beilein, the grass is not always greener.
There is no salary cap for coaches and coaches salaries don't count against the team caps so no luxury tax should apply. Pay him and AG enough to stay, whatever the cost.
Dan Campbell gets Detroit, he gets us. For Detroiters loyalty is huge and that is why the most beloved sports legends are the ones who stayed through good and bad spending their entire careers here. Kaline, Trammel, Sweet Lou, Dumars, Stevie Y, Gordie, Billy Sims, Barry, and Megatron did… and a few have stayed and become part of the community. Campbell’s 3 years in Detroit seems to have made an impression on him and he obviously wants to be here. All this Detroit sports fan truly wants is for a player to do their best and then win or lose, they earn my respect. The most exhilarating experience in my life was the summer of ‘76 watch The Bird pitch, it was magical.
Don’t underestimate the power of a great culture. Lions are strong from the top down. Stay and be part of a dynasty, or go to a poorly run organization and end up getting fired after one year for something that isn’t even your fault?
Could not agree more, why would you want to be a HC,and get fired after a couple of seasons with a team with no culture, that takes time to develop GM and Owners dont have the patience
Guys Ben Johnson wants the chicago job. He wanted it last year. Ben Johnson has been drooling over caleb Williams. You have a generational talent on a rookie contract with a pretty good rookie receiver. Chicago has close to 100 million in cap space. It’s a done deal as long as chicago opens up the checkbook to Ben
Ben is not going to the Bears...nobody is going within this division....every coach on this team knows Detroit is running this mf....they dont want be against this
What is happening in Detroit is special, and has long term implications. They would be foolish to leave. It is not and should not just be about bling and money, they will be sorry or disappointed if they leave. Detroit right now is a generational once in a life time event. Repeat they will never find or create what is Detroit now. I hope they stay to build a Detroit dynasty.
Ben said before that he knows the HC is a fickle position. A 2-3yr shelf life but as OC he has a little more wiggle room. Chicago Bears don’t think he has leadership qualities and asked him to make a leadership proposal for his interview.
Ben Johnson said he looks at and organization that is willing to fix it's problems and for everyone to be on the same page. The Jacksonville job fired the coach but not the GM which is part of the problem there. I was listening to the owner today talking about how the Jaguars is an attractive landing spot and what he is looking for in a coach. He mentioned that he wants a coach that is not running a predicable offense and when he said that I knew he was talking about Ben Johnson. However, their problem is that they are not a healthy organization that Ben is looking for but they might be able convince him otherwise. Ben mentioned how coaches are being fired very quickly and that he does not want to go into a situation like that. If Dan Campbell was at any other organization he would have been fired because I think it took nearly 3 years to get the Lions turned around and he was able to do it because he has a GM that is good at his job and they are all on the same page. To lions fans. If Ben or AD leave do you think we will take a step back?
Lions will be fine. Like you acknowledged, Brad Holmes is a good GM and will be able to find coordinators. You can never replace a person, but there are plenty of other talented coaches that wouldn’t mind coming to Detroit now.
The price hike is disgusting!! Best loyal fans in nfl, blue collar working folks who they pander too got priced out of what they have been supporting when this team was a joke. Whole country clapping on guys and gal's like that, now our lions too!
It would be such a bad idea for Ben Johnson to leave at this point. Unfinished business, whether we win the bowl or not. This is a legacy we’re talking about here. Why waste it going to dick around with the bears for 3 years?
THIS! Ben Johnson said he would only leave if the situation was ideal. Let's have a look at teams that fired their head coaches. Bears? Yeah, we're not falling for the ideal situation thing again. Jets? I mean, Rodgers runs that team right now, even if he's leaving still not a great situation for him. Patriots will probably just hire Mike Vrabel. Saints will get AG, Raiders might get him but I don't know.
Some Lions fans are so pathetic and selfish. They don't want the coordinators to take a head coaching job, just so they can stay with the team.If Ben or AG want to be a head coach support them. They have to do what's best for their career and family. The same goes for players that move on to another team, just wish them the best.
Only reason others want them to leave because they don’t want the lions to be the power house they are but why leave when you can win several chips the lions train just got started why would they start up a championship team and not receive the benefits I personally don’t think they are leaving

Amen. ✌️🏈

We don't want just one Super Bowl, we want several.
Detroit will be an attractive spot for coaches
@Chris-rh9ej that's a good point 👉

Campbell on that 0-16 Lions team in 2008: 16 years later he’s back. Lombardi in Detroits near future. ✌️🏈
He'll get a job but he'll get the one he wants That's the difference with Ben Johnson
Ben Johnson is only 38. He can wait for the perfect situation.
It was a different defense with Anzalone. We may have won without him but likely not as dominant
Braylon deverves MUCH more credit than he gets for the Success that the Jets had during his stint there.
Can Sheila pay Ben to stay a few more yrs?
Yup!! The Ford Bank runs deep.
He is making 5 million a year now.
I hope all of Detroit agrees🔥
Ben is going to wait for the perfect opportunity.
Not if he has ambition to leave
Dan Campbell has already said Ben Johnson is more concerned with that second contract as a HC than the first and that makes Jacksonville a nonfactor.
Don’t underestimate the power of a great culture. Lions are strong from the top down. Stay and be part of a dynasty, or go to a poorly run organization and end up getting fired after one year for something that isn’t even your fault?
You are on the same page as me. Detroit is an anomaly and so special right now. Organization/Fans/Team and World wide support.
Could not agree more, why would you want to be a HC,and get fired after a couple of seasons with a team with no culture, that takes time to develop GM and

We should keep an open mind, we like these guys because of skill and familiarity.... but theres the possibility their replacement is just as stellar

Campbell hasn't proved he can be successful without being propped up by his coordinators.
@@conormurphy8330 That's a reach......

Exactly what I’m saying 💯 why build something then just leave to build all over again it doesn’t make sense to me if they do
Ben said before that he knows the HC is a fickle position. A 2-3yr shelf life but as OC he has a little more wiggle room.
Chicago Bears don’t think he has leadership qualities and asked him to make a leadership proposal for his interview.
If I’m Ben Johnson I’m going to Vegas. I feel like they would be patient with him and let him accumulate the talent and culture guys he needs.
AG to the Saints, Ben gets a big raise and stays

Actually, it only took a year and a half, for the Lions rebuild. They were like 8 and 2, the last half of the second year.
The Ford's can afford whatever they want! That's very old money
The price hike is disgusting!! Best loyal fans in nfl, blue collar working folks who they pander too got priced out of what they have been supporting when this team was a joke. Whole country clapping on guys and gal's like that, now our lions too!
So you think it's ok for fans to make 3x what the Lions make for THEIR tickets??
People have a hard time understanding why someone wouldn't want to go, makes sense to me though. Why leave such a great job in detroit
Im looking at who is getting fired and how, I would not be shock if ag is with us for a while
Maz is delusional, Ben isn’t going to Jax 🤣
You guys are coping hard . Ben Johnson is going to coach the bears 😂
Braylon speakin tho! why you gotta bring race into it ?💯
Bro overdid it 😂😂😂
I think Ben Johnson will leave for Jaguars, too.
If AG leaves. It will be Saints
I like Braylon. But can he stop with the Cleveland Browns analogies. This Lions team is better than any Browns or Jets team he was on. Come on man
He's just making reference, he did play in the league, did u? No disrespect but respect that Michigan Man!!!
@@baknaas101And wouldn’t start on this team. So what’s your point?
@@baknaas101 Oh Vincent, I bet I could outrun you right now!!!

Ben will leave in two year's. Just because of Dan Campbell. He needs more learning and understanding but find best fit!
Because what he has here is immensely the perfect fit for his scheme!
Get a Lombardi or 2: then think about leaving something amazing for headache NFL and drama. Stay with the bird in hand.
Agreed
Teryl Austin is still a better DC to this point 💯
Teryl is that you??
You're kidding, right?
He will probably go to the patroits
