    I made a plywood deck behind the seat of our LJ to create a trunk. And then we strap a yeti and big water cooler on top. Enjoy it I still can’t believe Jeep didn’t make the 2 doors the same 103” wheelbase.

    Sick truck. While I understand the benefits of not having a 5th wheel on the back, I just think the genright tire carrier on the back would make your rig. Since there aren’t 40’s or 42’s on there I don’t suspect the crawling that’s gonna be done will be super hardcore(still gnarly though), therefore I say throw that tire carrier on the back!!

    • @ELEVENSDIRTLIFE
      @ELEVENSDIRTLIFE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GR tire carrier would definitely look legit on the back of the LJ. When we bought it from the previous owner he didn't have a 5th wheel and tire to match the other 4 on the Jeep. I'm planning on changing out the wheels to Raceline and the tires to 38" Patagonias down the line so when we do that we'll add the 5th wheel and consider a spare on the tailgate.

    Good looking rig. I would ditch the Tera kit. I had one and they all die with no replacements parts available. I would do a Rubi Crawler from AA. It replaces the tailhousing and add another 2.72 reduction unit. In low/low gets you 7.39 to 1. You will still have the reg 2.72 in the case that works good for snow/mud/sand stuff.

    • @ELEVENSDIRTLIFE
      @ELEVENSDIRTLIFE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's what I've been hearing! Rubicrawler has been added to the list.

      What goes wrong with the Tera kit?

    • @ELEVENSDIRTLIFE
      @ELEVENSDIRTLIFE  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeepdude82 From what I've heard it ends up pretty much blowing the entire tcase. Teraflex has discontinued the product which leads me to believe what I've heard has some merit.

    • @jeepdude82
      @jeepdude82 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hadn’t finished the video when I made my comment. I was thinking you guys were referring to the steering.
      The biggest thing I’ve heard about the Tera Low is that you can’t run high RPMs with them. That’s when they explode. If your going to keep that factory engine and transmission I would look into the rubicrawler for the back half of the tranny then a transfer case of your choice (atlas, nv231, nv241, etc…)
      I have the 6speed manual in my LJ and the nv241 has held up great. But I want to swap for an atlas4 speed to get some more gearing options and the ability to drive in 2 low.

      @@leecaldwell1029 we still have it! I drive it a few times a week. We haven’t done anything to it yet except a few small items. Plan is to build this one out to a mostly dedicated rock crawler. I’d like to do a video documentation on here when that starts and all through the process. Not sure when ill get that going b/c i want to be able to do it all within a reasonable time period.

      @@ELEVENSDIRTLIFE yeah my goal was something better than stock but not too crazy which is what I feel I accomplished. I bought a sye and Tom woods driveshaft to that I’m going to put in because even though it’s only a two inch lift there’s driveline vibration. And I don’t want to do a tc drop. Those don’t look right imo. I’d love to have a built lj like yours someday tho for trails, it’s soo sick. I was going for more of a daily driver that could hit some small trails if I wanted. But a trail rig someday would be sick. But ever like building from the ground up it’s easy to have 30-40k into one. Parts are expensive and there’s soo many to buy haha
