*Everyone talking about how the audience in their theater reacted* Me: What audience? I was alone in the theater with my mom and by the time the movie was over I realized why
Same. The theater I go to is PACKED literally every day of the week, no matter which movie cuz' it's in a tourist area So, I was surprised when we ordered tickets and only 5 other people showed up. Very obvious why when the ending credits showed. I heard people cursing out loud when they were walking out of the theater about how bad the movie was. If not for the "If you watch the whole thing, you can't get a refund" policy, I would 100% have gotten my money back, that movie was terrible.
There were 2 girls behind my friend and I last night. That was the best part because by the end we were all laughing out loud. It was definitely a weird character choice that she didn't do Any paranormal research to how to defeat it. I thought she would after learning about the original house in Japan but nope she waved her gun at ghosts and took her kid to burn it down because, reasons?
Thing is that adding new ghosts along side the iconic Kayako and Toshio could've been a refreshing idea for the franchise. Imagine her controlling her new puppets and making them do her bidding. She would've had new team members to not only add onto the body count, but to expand her curse in not just one house. They could maybe even had different things to make them scary in their own right like with Kayako's croaking moan and Toshio's cat yowl. It's probably not the best idea, but it would've been better than what we got. At least then, we would get to see her more than just the the beginning
The ghost of the killer ghost kills the dude's ghost, then the dude's ghost's ghost kills the killer ghost's ghost, then the killer ghost's ghost's ghost kills the dude's ghost's ghost, the dude's ghost's ghost's ghost kills the killer ghost's ghost's ghost, the killer ghost's ghost's ghost's ghost kills the dude's ghost's ghost's ghost, etc etc

The very first grudge has forever scarred me, I feel like the reason I have sleep paralysis is bc of Kayako. Almost everytime I experience it I can hear her croaks or i feel my legs getting covered in her hair 😬
I was thinking a decent plotline might involve a psychic who can see and maybe interact with the spirits while not being affected by the curse. It might give a sense of real hope to ending the curse by having an advantage, at least a small one, over the spirits. The psychic would know that to enter the house would make them vunerable but they would eventually realize that it is the only way to confront the spirits and end the curse. It's more than a little predictable. But maybe less so than what we've gotten since the first movie. Even if the plot of the entire series is that there's no hope of stopping the curse, there needs to be a least the appearance of hope or what is point? Perhaps the psychic should even be able to end the curse in the american hauntings but that the original grudge in Japan, is still there and Much stronger than the ones spawned from that original curse.

I feel so dumb that the moment I saw the opening shot in Japan I said, “This isn’t 2004. There’s an ad for the newest Evangelion movie that literally comes out this year.”
guromeido wasnt that a madoka magica ad right next to it tho?
Irl Weeb there’s new Madoka content coming out this year too, iirc. But, either way that Eva poster is to new to be in 2004.

The entire audience was just like wtf at the end. Trash movie.
This shit made me fall asleep till the end
My mom literally said she is gonna go shopping and left the theater, trash movie, definitely a waste of money
Same. I was pissed because I saw kyako in the trailers and the only time I saw her was looking over fiona's shoulder in the begining
One Day You May yo I’m at the movies and the ending was her burning down the house and then an weak later the school bus come and the boy (the girls son but it was the grudge but the actual lil boy come out of no where and says bye mom I’m going to school then she noticed that the boy she was hugging aka her son was the grudge and then it showed her getting dragged away..
@@gorebukkake I think they are referring to the 5 minutes of silence that followed where were just staring at the house like "is that it?"
This movie shouldn’t exist. Just like that new Rings movie.
Hollywood’s thought process.
Make a movie to sell on its name alone. Instead of actually making a good movie.
Hollywood’s utter incompetence.
I totally agree with you on that the rings was pure garbage.

Rings was far more horrible than this
@@abdulazim6780 Wrong we got the mandalorian, new clone wars, The Force Awakens, Several great comics series, and The Last Jedi. Only the rise of Skywalker was a miss after Disney took over. Star Wars fans like you just can't be pleased

There was one good thing in the movie in my opinion (apart from the actors, who clearly are trying) it's the old husband. I just love that he's completely unconcerned about the ghosts, effectively saying that he finds them comforting instead of scary, as they are proof that there is something after the after.
People in this movie were dropping like flies before the grudge appear.
*Everyone talking about how the audience in their theater reacted*
Me: What audience? I was alone in the theater with my mom and by the time the movie was over I realized why
Lol
Bro same we were the only ones 💀
I saw it for free so maybe I enjoyed it more than I should have, if I was paying money to see it I'd probably be pissed. The alone mother bedroom scene and fork part was where we lost it, we were in tears because it was so cheesy.
Yooo same.
People were mocking the movie freely before the end in the theater. When she took her son TO THE HAUNTED HOUSE people literally walked out.
NIGHTMARE-NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE-NIGHTMARE-NIGHTMARE because what was even the point? “ I want to keep you safe” * brings son with her *
@@deadchannel8823 I honestly don't know. From what I remember everybody else was just as confused because the idea just came out of nowhere. One second they're in their own house and being haunted, the next she's saying that they have to go to the Grudge House.
**With no explanation lmao
Same here in australia. :p
I love the fact that the film uses an image of "2004" Japan, however you can tell it's not because of two animes on signs, Rebuild of Evangelion (made starting in 2007) and Madoka Magica (made in 2011). So lazy.
During that closet scene, I told my friend that she's going to come inside the closet somehow.
He laughed when she started walking up the stairs. I just told him to wait for it but he kept laughing. And then after a few minutes, 6:11
He literally jumped up from his seat. He even found this movie scary.
Omg so clever.. It's like you have seen a horror movie before..

@@ingriddubbel8468 Who cares??
@@Bruckpcrbl this version of The Grudge is really not are reboot or remake but it is a sequel it's basically The Grudge 4 but with a new Grudge but I looked this up on Wikipedia and it said that this is like a sidequel meaning that the new curse happened in like 2004 during the old one. But yeah this is The Grudge 4 basically but they just have a new curse and a new Grudge.
I seriously don’t understand why Kayako wasn’t included further in the movie like????? Makes no sense?
They probably didn't want to pay for the gals Visa and hotel accommodations slim chance she even spoke English enough to get by in the states too.
Not even toshio is in this
Doctor Odin you can’t be that dumb lol ,you do realize she played in the 3 American versions right ?
@@neibur Actually, the original Kayako actress was only in the first two American versions (as well as the four Japanese features before them). By then, she'd gotten tired of playing the part so they got a new actress to play her in 3. The actress in the split second shot of this one was neither of them
When her partner pull out the dvd for her son to watch, in my head..”uh ohhh ..the ring”!! 😂

Not even interested in the movie I just like listening to him talking about movies
you should do "The Lazarus Effect (2015)". ending is somewhat straightforward, but also open to interpretation. it's actually a good movie all things considered.
I think even the Japanese Sadako vs Kayako (Grudge vs Ring) was more interesting than this.

I totally agree. I loved the Japanese Grudge movies and the first American one. I was so disappointed that there was no Kayako and Toshio in this one. The new ghosts aren't nearly as scary as the Japanese ones.
The trailer was legit terrifying. So upset it was actually a bad movie :(
I didn't hate it. LOVED the practical effects for the gore.
This may sound weird, but you have the most *customizable* head ever.
It doesn't sound weird

It was definitely a weird character choice that she didn't do Any paranormal research to how to defeat it. I thought she would after learning about the original house in Japan but nope she waved her gun at ghosts and took her kid to burn it down because, reasons?
They bugged me too. I was worried she was going to kill her kid early on.

The use of the Star Spangled Banner was sooo stupid and it immediately killed my interest of this dumb film.

"her little son Billy or whatever" 🤣
Ghost kills a dude, dude becomes a ghost, dude ghost kills killer ghost.
Modern problems require Modern solutions.
The ghost of the killer ghost kills the dude's ghost, then the dude's ghost's ghost kills the killer ghost's ghost, then the killer ghost's ghost's ghost kills the dude's ghost's ghost, the dude's ghost's ghost's ghost kills the killer ghost's ghost's ghost, the killer ghost's ghost's ghost's ghost kills the dude's ghost's ghost's ghost, etc etc
yeah that always me question other then why this whole curse dosent spread worldwide like a plague
WHY DONT THE VICTIMS ATTACK KYOKA AFTER THEY DIE. like i get not be able to hurt each other but they totally should able to bitterly hold her down or drag her into the ocean or trap her somewhere with them
@@wilmagregg3131 Because Kayako isn't just a ghost, she's an Onryō, a psychic grudge manifesting under a ghostly form. Basically Kayako and Toshio are both the same entity (The Curse/Grudge), just under different forms, and each victim becomes part of the curse, so they would have no reason to attack each other.
getting so tired of the "character blankly stares off into space while chopping veggies and accidently cuts off their fingers" trope that keeps popping up in modern horror movies...

WHAT’S THE POINT OF MAKING A GRUDGE MOVIE WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE THE MAIN ANTAGONIST?! THE WHOLE MOVIE FRANCHISE IS BASED ON A JAPANESE LEGEND FOR A REASON

I've haven't watched the movies but from what I've heard, probably won't watch anymore
Oh btw, Nicholas was asked whether he would direct a science movie for some other director when he passes away and Nicholas said he would, idk, that's what I remember

I’ve never felt so ashamed walking out the theatre after this movie
But I remember going to watch the 1st movie in theaters on Halloween and the amount of screams from the movie goers and I was paranoid during the rest of the night.
@Xotica_ Simone1719 I didn't realize how bad it was gonna be. It was more or less the noise. And not many horror movies scared me
The girl from the ring took over the world in her last movie and now the grudge getting a F with out a great ending? Well damn

gotta say this was one of the best comedies I’ve ever seen
Exactly what I said about the original US version.
They just HAD to put John Cho, the ONLY asian in the movie, as if to make that Asian connection!? Jesus tap dancing Christ!
no, that's just the racist in you talking
Lol I don’t think that was the intention.
John Cho, Lin Shaye, and Andrea Riseborough are all draws when it comes to the horror/thriller genres.
I honestly don't don't care about race in movies and you shouldn't too
I think it was just to draw people in more, like they did with joker in suicide squad
@FoundFlix Thank you for all the videos you make! As someone who is terrified of horror movies, but loves a good plot and story line. I'm able to enjoy these movies through you and still sleep at night. Thank You! ❤
"Same story, told differently, same ending" i fell asleep wheen i saw this lol.
The only disturbing scene was the pregnant woman
Tommy Wiseau's The Room is rated higher than The Grudge (2020)
After watching YMS's review I wasn't surprised that everyone hated this movie.
The end of the old couple felt a bit off; death of the husband doesn’t mesh with how the cop finds him.
