I challenged Leela | Game 6 (Bird's Opening)

Featured is my 6th game playing against the specialized version of LeelaKnightOdds with a 15+5 rapid time control. Out of the Bird's Opening, Leela plays without a queen knight. LeelaKnightOdds was trained on and plays on Nvidia's powerful graphics card, an RTX 4090. LeelaKnightOdds was specifically trained from a start position without a knight.

this was painful to watch, at 23:00 and several moves prior you should have definitely gone in for the knight sac to win a central pawn as well as the connected pawns on the queenside

Classic but funky main strategy of both players filling the center (and everywhere else!) with Pawns.
Jerry has anything human - literally - ever made Leela lose on time?

Well, at queen odds one strong player won some 1'0" bullet games on time just by postponing delivering mate past 150 moves, when Leela's minimum time per move can use up a minute. But that really isn't a win on time as a human would have resigned, and no one can do this at smaller odds. It has lost some games on time due to internet outages or crashes due to too many players playing the bots at once causing a crash, but those aren't really wins on time in the usual sense.

Tough to say for sure. With only a handful of games under my belt, it feels kinda harder to beat Leela without a queen knight.
