Highly Recommended: Great food, ambience. The best Goan food in town. Hats off to Mr. Jude D'Souza, his family and his team for keeping this legacy alive n kickin'.
Hi Kunal dobitalao is my old childhood hangout. My cousin use to live a block from Kayani restaurant after jambool wadi. Diagonally opp metro to left was Jer Mahal where the Goan clubs were above Futardo's musical shop. There used to be a Chinese doctor woo back then in the early 70's who occupied a place where my cousin loved. I loved the restaurants around marine street. Thanks for visiting C D'souza near the Our Lady of Dolors Church. I will visit this place to eat my Goan favorite sorpotel and xacuti dishes. My tailor was on the same street ahead and I would travel from Bandra and the train station would be charni road if I'm not mistaken and would ride the horse chariot to my cousins place during my vacations.
Aray baba not charni road but marine-line station and that C D'Souza restaurant is at our lady of dollars church plus school and this place is between Marine line and Church-gate station i was living there in my childhood time 50 year's back my parent's place now shifted to Malad now married and living 4' bunglow Andheri
Am Goan and all this is so mouth watering, am encouraged to cook more of my cuisine. Thanks for highlighting this hidden gem of a restaurant and celebrating Goan food.
Kunal your content is above and beyond. My Grandfather lived in Sonapur(Dhobi talao) in the 30s, in the 40s my grand parents tied the knot at Holy Name Cathedral Wood house. He used to work at Bombay Naval docks. Just love these by lanes. Love from Bandra, Mira road and Aldona.
Kunal, your eating the chicken patties brings tears to my eyes! My beloved father used to frequent Marosa's daily, with his buddies. I used to be taken there as a child; had completely forgotten the rich white sauce! This restaurant was the highlight of my father's daily routine!
6:08 hi. The presention is superb.... I cd smell the Food even in Goa - Calangute n Porvorim. Keep up the Enthusiasm 👍❤ On my next visit, C. D'Souza is on my cards.🎉 PLEASE ensure, all masala are made in Goa....
I remember going to Martins in Colaba Causeway many times. It was a hole in the wall and their Pork Sarpotel/ Vindaloo was always a hit.....plus their Jelly Custard. Sadly, l missed D'Souzas during my Mumbai days 😢
Kunal!!!! This Is Mind Blowing!!! A Gazillion Thanks...I Always Maintained...There's NO More Divine Cuisine...Than Goan Food!!! Yummo!!! Aaaaahsome Stuff!!!
Hey Kunal, It’s great that you’re finally presenting the show in English. I have nothing against you hosting the show in Hindi, so no offense. But I miss how you used to host The Foodie back in the day. And in my opinion, you’re more articulate in English. Hope this continues in the upcoming episodes as well. Like the comment if you agree guys. 😀
Old memories were revived, My husband visited this place as a teenager. The food is great. We will surely visit this place. Thanks kunal for brining back memories.
There was a Goa Portuguesa in Mahim long ago that I loved. Is it still there? I like watching your program. I am a Tamil Mumbaikar, living in New Zealand
Thanks for sharing this hidden gem. There is another place for Amazing goan food in Dhobi Talao which is Snowflakes, in the lane opposite Kayanis. And of course Martins in Colaba.
Not sure if devil wears prada but his name is kunal viyarkar for sure. I have been on almost 5yrs of what i call food celibacy abstaining from temptations. But thanks to kunal , i will end up like tbe actor Alfred Molina in the climax of the movie "Chocolat". Great video guyz.
SIR SORPOTEL RECIPE IS MADE FROM RECHADO MASALA AND NOT FROM GARAM MASALA ..POTATO CHOPS WITH MINCED MEAT IS ALSO ONE OF MY FAVOURITES ALONG WITH SAUSAGES ALSO CALLED AS CHORISAN IN KONKANI ..❤❤LY TO SEE KUNAL SIR ENJOYING GOAN MEALS
My mom had told me of how her mother used to bring her grandmother ie my great grandma to Marosa to have the delicious Sicilian Ice-cream which had a crunchy nougat biscuit base & the puff chicken Pattice which were slightly peppery & the puff buttery. I unfortunately never got to eat those as Marosa closed down, but those Marosa treats & tiny coffee cups have become family lore. What I do lip smackingly remember is going to C D'Souza with my dad on the weekends to pack Pork Vindaloo, Sorpotel, Fried bangda, fish curry rice & beef chilli fry for a sumptuous family lunch. Around Christmas dad would order the Suckling pig for the family table.....C D'Souza back then was a kinda dingy, eat & scoot kinda place as it catered mainly to working bachelors so we always brought the delicious food home. This new look is very pleasing & hopefully not far from their roots, pocket friendly too.
Loved the chicken puffs etc which I have eaten in my childhood so many times !! Kunal your clips are all drool worthy & tempting !! I love goan food a lot !! Hope they have delivery to the suburbs!! ❤

Great presentation. I was not aware of this Goan restaurant. Hope to visit it on my next trip. The Goan dish is Vindalho (dish carne de vinha d'alhos (meat marinated in wine-vinegar and garlic) Vindaloo is some non Goan concoction with an altogether different taste. Vindalho is pronounced Vindalhu. The h being soft.
