Rewatching this after all these years…it makes me wonder “woah! How much did this film really inspire this renaissance?” I actually feel like this film was part of the foundation of this rebirth we’ve experienced. We still have a ways to go, but we’ve made strides. I vote Yes on a new film! Show off the new Buffalo.
It’s amazing how beautiful the Great Lakes are yet we let these amazing cities like Buffalo, Detroit, and Cleveland fall. Glad to see many of them starting to rise up and pull it together. Buffalo by far is the most livable and unique.
Western New York honestly has a lot of nice places to go and things to see. Buffalo's East Side has it's fair share of problems but they've really renovated a lot of the city and brought more tourism in. The architecture is outstanding, you can truly see the history in the buildings.
One thing that I love about Buffalo and am completely fascinated by as well, is how everyone is connected to everyone else. The city of about 300,000 acts like a town of 3000, where you can pull anyone (from anywhere in the city) out of their car and connect them to you within 10 degrees or less. It creates (in my opinion) a very large sense of community and family. In addition to the fact that you can barely leave your house without seeing someone you know.
We just moved home to Buffalo after years in a lot of great places and are really in love with the people and landscapes. We walk down small streets (near Elmwood) and the craftsmanship in every house is different and interesting. The waterfront, could be better but there are so many cool little spots. Islands, little beaches, marinas.... We see refugees making a comfortable new home and artists everywhere. There are so many hidden gems and good wierdos. It's good to be home.
Buffalo truly has a unique geographic and architural position. I lived there for several years and moved to the nation's capitol, and I miss Buffalo. People there really do not understand how goo they have it in terms of the lakes, the living, the traffic, and even the people.
I'm far from the Himalayas, and always had a dream to travel to the mesmerizing city of Buffalo, America from my childhood days. Hope I can get there one day in my near future to live and feel what I felt those days about Buffalo.
I went to school in Buffalo. I moved to the west coast 20+ years ago. Just went back this summer, and wow! Buffalo is really experiencing a renaissance! I can't believe it, walking down streets that had rows of boarded up buildings 20 years ago; now has thriving businesses. I hope it lasts! The only negative, is the weather. Very grey and extremely cold for about 4 months. My experience has been, living in a warm climate is like doubling your life, with a perpetual summer. You can basically go out and do whatever you want everyday of the year. In Buffalo (or any North East city) you're not going to have that freedom. Nevertheless, I'm thinking about moving back to Buffalo, but just go somewhere warm in the winter months.
@@DarkFoxV True! I live in Raleigh NC currently and it's 90+ degrees every single day from about mid-May until November. It doesn't even cool down at night so life without A/C is miserable. Take your pick, extreme heat you can't get away from or extreme cold that is remedied by wearing warm layers? I'll pick a cold winter plus I love snow. It only snowed twice last winter in Raleigh and it was 75 degrees the next day on both occasions and melted all the snow instantly.
I was in Mexico for a few weeks recently and 4 different couples from Canada and from Oregon..... made specific mention to us about how they have heard about these aspects of Buffalo and also how Buffalo is the new "Carolina's" of this decade. In the 80's - all college grads and younger gens rushed down to Charlotte, Greenville, etc... to find fame and fortune. Now, all thier kids are heading back here. We are growing so fast that we need a city wide planning committee on how to deal with the population explosion on it's way. This is a great video and I am so proud of this city and it's resilience, committment, generosity and overwall devotion to sustainability and being a Green Leader. You go!
For the strangest most unexplainable reasons, I want to move to Buffalo. I have literally no connection whatsoever to the city. I'm from Tennessee, and have never lived anywhere else. But something tells me, that Buffalo is where I need to be.
+cbcrog I live in Edmonton, Canada and I go to Buffalo 2 or 3 times a year and everytime I visit something old comes back to life. It is truly a beautiful city.
Too bad. Winter is awesome, too. Could’ve shown polar plunge, broom ball at Hoyt Lake, sledding at Delaware Park, ice skating at Canalside... Oh wait, you meant that as an insult. Life doesn’t stop being awesome because winter comes. Some people are just boring.
That's one of best city wraps I've ever seen....As an Australian now in Thailand I had no idea the city had so much beauty including from the art deco period...I was sitting here wondering how such a knock out collection of 30s high rise buildings had survived the onslaught of modernism in our time....forgive me for saying that while Buffalo is a great name for a river, it doesn't work well for a city of parks and high achievers, with not a cowboy in sight. ..what could you call it....I wonder.....?
Rod McNeil the name Buffalo came from the misunderstanding of the French saying “Beau Fleuve” (beautiful river), and the English speakers interpreted it as “Buffalo”.
I have such a different view of Buffalo after watching this video! I’ve driven through the city from Canada on various occasions bypassing the downtown core. Always kind of thought the city was very dirty and rundown. It’s amazing what can be done when a community that cares all come together. Amazing story!
I lived in Buffalo all my life and never moved out. In fact, it's very difficult to move out because I love it. No greater city outside of Buffalo can convince me to leave my hometown. I love it here in Buffalo and I plan to stay here all my life. It's amazing and it feels so great to be in this city. I've seen this city grow since I was a kid growing up, and it keeps getting better and better. We came very far in Buffalo. I love Buffalo!
I love the way this showcases the city without being overly commercial. I agree with other comments that it would be great to see a similar concept, but one that embraced the fall and winter seasons visually. Snow doesn't have to be a central feature, but show how we thrive in all seasons. Big props to everyone involved in making this video.
+John Harrison When was the last time you were here again? We were one of the, if not the wealthiest cities in the world.. During that time, we gained, as they mentioned, remarkable architecture and infrastructure. Don't make assumptions by running through Google Earth. Visit and look around. You might be pleasantly surprised.
Actually watch again -- we did show East side. MLK Park / splash pad, Humboldt Parkway, houses and vacancy around Humboldt, Larkinville / Larkin Square, just to name a few!
I had never been to Buffalo until I married a guy from there - have made three amazing trips there since. Buffalo is a great city and if you don't see it, then you simply don't get it. Job well done on this video showing some of the splendor of this city.
Even though I grew up in Rochester, and I now live in the North Country, my heart is forever devoted to Buffalo. Its a beautiful, magical city, full of eclectic people, mind blowing food, goose-bump inducing music, and some of the most perfect art and architecture anywhere in Western NY. If it wasn't so pricy for us, we'd already be living there. 💙
I lived in Buffalo for only five years from '80 - '85 and I still miss it, and consider it home! Grew up outside of Philadelphia and have lived in Pittsburgh for the last 30 years…..and nowhere I've ever been can compare to Buffalo! As I'm approaching retirement, I swear I'd love nothing more than to move back to Hamburg and live the rest of my life with the friendliest people I've ever known!!
Not architecturally related, but here we also have Roswell Park Cancer Center that treated my father's colon cancer. He received truly top notch care from beginning consultations, to treatment, to ringing the bell (to let all in the hospital hear he's cancer free), to now, for his current cancer-free annual check-ups. I could not begin to say enough good things about this institute.
I used to live here, sort of. Upstate NY is beautiful, and having lived in six cities in three nations, I wouldn't trade living here for anything else, despite the problems we do have right now.
As a native Buffalonian who left at eighteen never to return, I found this film inspriational. I visited the city for the first time in 15 years and was given a tour by a gentlemen who really knew what was happening there. Even on a rainy day in August no one could deny the progress being made to reinvent Buffalo. I also delved into its history via a sunny(!) Sunday tour of Forest Lawn Cemetery, which brought to life all the early movers and shakers that built the place. I came away a believer.
Debbie Terry I work an hour from Buffalo in Canada and have only been to Buffalo once. I remember driving through your city and around every corner saying "wow!" The architecture and parks are incredible. I need to take some time and explore it sometime soon. Love to see Buffalo's renaissance.
I grew up in Buffalo then moved away and lived in several places but would visit periodically. I felt the same as some others about the poor direction it was heading until recently; I visited this Spring and really took in the city and there is truly something positive going on there. I was amazed and encouraged.
I am an Englishman brought up in St. Catharines, Ontario just across the border from Buffalo. I have now lived in Australia for some 40 years. However, as a boy I was drawn to Buffalo sports teams and the beautiful city she is. I remember Bob McAdoo leading the Buffalo Braves, O J Simpson scoring long range touchdowns for the Bills and the great Gilbert Perreault performing poetry on ice every night for the Sabres. A true small and historic city steeped in America's history. As an Englishman, I will always believe we (Brits/Canadians) won the war of 1812 but the spirit that is entrenched in people from Buffalo and the greater Niagara region is 2nd to none in this wide world. Keep the faith, the Bills and Sabres will triumph soon and perhaps the Braves will be reborn.
I love Buffalo! It's really a hidden gem and Western New York has so much to offer. I've fallen in love with the area, never been anyplace like it and will be moving there during the summer! Can't wait!
Omfg i just love our city.....i cry whenever i see this video because ive felt how wonderful this city is my entire life. And now i get to watch this city i love so much just take off and come right back to life...the architecture....neighborhoods.....food.....people....festivals!!! Did i mention the architecture!!!!????? BUFFALOVE!!!!!!!
Buffalo has the incredible Saarinen-designed Kleinhan's Music Hall, and a world-class symphony orchestra as well. This optimistic video is several years old, and although the global pandemic has thrashed through Buffalo as much as anywhere, I saw during my last visit in September 2021 that the city is pretty much staying the course. It's a uniquely and surprisingly lovely place.
The Historic Colored Musicians Club at Broadway and Michigan is my go-to for music. One hundred years strong. Jam nights on Sundays and the Jazz Festival in July.
I was born in Buffalo in 1958. As a kid, I thought it was the greatest place on earth. I left in 1985, because, despite a BA in Economics and an MBA - I couldn't find a decent paying job. I think that single dilemma continues to face both recent graduates and people that have been in the workforce for generations. The first 6 minutes of your video made me fall in love with the remembrances. However, as admitted, Buffalo has a long way to go to re-emerge.
I live and love in Buffalo and while this documentary advert is accurate, it succeeds at barely scratching the surface of what Western New York has to offer! Every season, every holiday is accompanied by so many traditions and festivals new and old that it is literally impossible to not have some new opportunity for fun and adventure EVERY SINGLE DAY! I truly love this place! - J. Nico Owner and Master Barber at J. Nico's Elite Men Shop
Took my first trip there for my birthday in June of 2014 to do the Falls and was blown away by the beauty of Buffalo. Especially important because of all the ugly descriptions I had grown up with down in NYC. I hope you do "go back" because making a place that beautiful even more beautiful would be phenomenal. If you have not visited Buffalo, make the trip. It is really an amazing city. Shuffle off to Buffalo!
Wow, what a wonderful place to live! Surrounded by rivers, lakes, waterfalls, sea, parks in every neighbourhood (or rather every neighbourhood in parks) ... awesome!
Chris Brown refugees are the reason our population and economy is improving. We don't give them that many benefits; they even have to repay the government for their plane ticket to the US. We have a lot of extra space and it's great we're doing it.
some of us love historical cities & becoming apart of the community who rebuilds them... buffalo sounds amazing... even w/many of the old abandoned, boarded up old buildings....
I moved here in 2006 with my wife, a Sloan native. I have lived in New Orleans, Houston, near Memphis and Atlanta, but I have never found a place I really loved like I have come to love Buffalo and WNY. There is a perfect blend of city and small-town which I am utterly convinced is achieved by the amazing people who live here. I was totally un-surprised to learn that one of the city's many nicknames is "The City of Good Neighbors". I'm originally from rural Mississippi and grew up being truly concerned about the "folks down the road". This is the first place I have lived since where that concern is a natural part of the collective thought. Lots of places claim it, none back it up. Not enough space here to list all the reasons I love it here! Go Buffalo!!!
I heard buffalo was actually a ghetto. I was accepted by Buffalo State College ( I live in NYC) and I'm abit afraid to go there and not be able to find a job or for me to end up living in a ghetto.
TreborHG9 As with all urban areas there are places that are wise to avoid. I'm sure NYC has plenty of places you'd rather not go. Buffalo is an old city and there are lots of old houses and buildings.Almost all the neighborhoods I've visited are well-kept, well-maintained and neighbors look out for each other. The area around Buff State is Elmwood Ave, one of the places mentioned in the video. The history and art museums are literally right across the street. This is one of the most beautiful parts of the city, IMO. Buffalo is a much slower pace from what I've experienced in my visits to Manhattan. But that's deceptive. EVERYwhere I've lived has a much slower pace than Manhattan! I'd recommend taking a trip over here and spend a couple days looking around. Experience Buffalo for yourself!
scratchdspecs I don't think I will be able to travel there just to visit. I just hope there are jobs in the city or close for me to be able to make a little bit of money while studying
TreborHG9 there are multiple ghettos in Buffalo, in the East and West. also the South and the suburbs to the immediate east and northwest are declining working class areas. Buff State campus is in a good Buffalo neighborhood, near Elmwood Avenue. Overall the elmwood, allentown, downtown, and North Buffalo areas are generally safe. there is a huge college community in the area also.
I move here 3 years ago from Florida and I love this place. It reminds me of my home - Germany. Great people, great Food and soooo much to do. Love this palce.
I live in Rochester. The weather isn't that bad most of the year. Look at the rest of the country. Floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, wild fires, and earthquakes. We don't have it so bad in WNY.
I couldn't love this video anymore. It shows the ups and downs, it showcases our successes, and our failures, and what we are doing to try and fix the mistakes of the past. I love it!
Christopher Musialowski goodluck w the no job low pay drug infested refugee camp of the world. Oh..then you can look at the 90% fat asses walk around scratching their tiger striped bills lounge pants.
Good for Buffalo! Hope she succeeds in her revitalization efforts. Great and grand architecture and parks and parkway system! Certainly is one of the best designed cities in America, if not the world. I could live here! Wonderful video!
This is an amazing film! Pumps you up and makes you feel PROUD to be apart of the Phoenix type of rebirth. To see how the cinematography has captured our city in a way that makes it alluring and draws you in.
John Paget, you are amazing. Thank you for putting to video the pride so many Buffalonians feel about their city. This is an absolutely beautiful video which brought a tear to my eye. I cannot wait to move back to Buffalo - I miss it so very much!
Well done! I love living in Buffalo. Beautiful weather lately, with the sun and leaves changing. Elmwood is sweet, the parks are great, and the music scene is amazing!!
Interesting video. It makes me want to take a closer look at the city the next time I am in the area. I grew up in West central NY and for me the world was pretty much Rochester to Syracuse and the beauty of the Finger Lakes. Aside from an occasional trip to Niagara Falls, I never found much to catch my interest in Buffalo with the rank air from the steel mills of my youth, some dangerous neighborhoods, and the concrete girdle of the interstates which a passing motorist sees. It looks like things are moving in the right direction and it makes me want to explore the hidden charms that I may have overlooked.
I absolutely love Buffalo! The city has changed so much for the better over the last 10 years. Greater Buffalo just overtook Greater Rochester for upstates largest economy. The city has a unique vibe like no other. Hearing the bitter comments from the small segment of the Buffalo population or people who've never been here makes me enraged.
Great work, to me Buffalo is an obviously beautiful city with so much potential that is still untapped. For the first time I see the most progress I ever have in this city and cannot wait to see what it means for our future. Fantastic job.
This was so inspiring and the enthusiasm and love for their city just radiates from these civic leaders and citizens. Buffalo looks beautiful, I knew about the architecture but I had no idea of its radial-style planning and how much Olmstead contributed. In Toronto, we too drank the Kool-Aid of Mr Moses, though luckily we had Jane Jacobs to lead a successful fight against one freeway. But we stuck a monstrosity of a Expressway, the Gardiner, now a crumbling wreck and always an eyesore, right in front of beautiful Lake Ontario. Congratulations on the work you've done and it goes to show when the real owners of a city, its citizens, band together, you can make your city liveable again. I can't wait to visit! ❤
I live in Buffalo now for school. But I can watch the sun rise over the ocean from my balcony in Rockaway Beach. I'm enjoying Buffalo. Best of both worlds.
Say what you will, but the optimism and enthusiasm these people have for the future of Buffalo really is spectacular. I want to go help them make it even more beautiful now for crying out loud.
Buffalo has the best architecture in the world. Please take time to visit downtown's Ellicott Square Bldg, The Guaranty Bldg, Dunn Bldg, Cathedral Park with the Church, City Hall - up to the 38th floor observatory deck and the original brass, marble, copper, Indian drawings in the lobby. Amazing. I didn't even see all of the buildings yet. When you go inside you won't believe the craftsmanship involved in every square inch of City Hall. Please visit Our Lady Of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna. The Italian marble is something else. Wait until you see all of the stained-glass windows, especially the round ones behind the alter and around the Dome inside. Treat yourself to these wonders of Buffalo, NY. You'll never forget it.
"Taking Proud" once again. After decades of nothing but talk and no action, Buffalo is finally coming alive once again. The waterfront is shaping up so we can really enjoy what Mother Nature gave this area. Larkin Square is amazing, and what a great place for us to go to. I was at the Richardson Complex South Lawn Celebration this past Saturday. I must say what replaced the parking lots is fantastic. What an architectural wonder the Richardson Building is. Gratitude John, video is brilliant!
My foster father his home town, Buffalo NY, Willard James Abbott, WW2 Veteran, he passed away 1949. Thank you for this video. My name is Will C. Abbott, from the Philippines.
Great video. I'm sending it right now to a couple of Australian friends arriving in Buffalo tomorrow for the first time for a short visit. This video will mentally prepare them for their experience in Buffalo.
francesca lupinetti Well this just shows the downtown area, trust me, get out of downtown and there's plenty of abandoned factories and other buildings, they've been doing a good job at keeping the downtown area nice but not really the rest of the city.
@@itzpro5951 If you have plans for raising a family - the suburbs of Buffalo are among the cheapest places to live in the country with some of the best schools for the kids.
My daughter's family lives there. My son use to live there and my son would say there streets were designed well. They made sense. Every street didn't have a cutoff they ran somewhere. I think I explained it right. They are both originally from Syracuse, NY
Every American city can tout their good qualities but the weather is what it is. Only being able to enjoy what was depicted in the video a few months out of the year is the biggest obstacle, IMO! Good job to the folks who are trying to make the city better.
The city of Buffalo wasn't named for the buffalo and/or bison. The name was inspired by the "beautiful river," beau fleuve," in French. The pronunciation was butchered as time went on.
Nothing compares to WNY. We've lived in New Hampshire, Connecticut, Central New York. The lakes, the people are like nothing else anywhere. Lake Erie and Lake Ontario are more beautiful than the ocean and there are so many other places around Buffalo that are equally as wonderful...too many to mention!
I am from Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and live in Raleigh, N.C. and I want to move to Buffalo......Fantastic looking place that I would like to live. And so close to Canada and Niagara Falls and Rochester. So much water and the friendly people and just a place for me....Thank You for this video.
Wow first off I would like to say that video was amazing. I moved out of Buffalo about 7 years ago to Washington D.C. because there was not a lot going on in Buffalo but after seeing everything and all the changes for the good makes me want to think about moving back.
Why would you want to move back to a city that in recent years has had a higher violent crime rate than NYC? And has the 11th highest violent crime rate overall in the nation? *According to the FBI crime statistics of 2012.
Katie Andrew im in austin texas but im a buffalo native its does get cold here in the winter too. im thinking about moving back myself. theres no other greater than city than Buffalo.
I left to join the Air Force 24.5 years ago and doubted I would ever come back BUT here I am I contribute it mostly to the food but you did point out 20 other great reasons. GREAT video thanks.
I love learning about all the different significant/historical cities of the US, even though I live on & love Long Island with NYC at my fingertips, I still always think about exploring various cities like this all around the country... I really hope to visit someday
Mat Ras Don't listen to him. There's a lot of great stuff upstate, they're just not as easy to find as they are in the City, they're hidden and you have to know where to look. I come from Syracuse and the only people who think it sucks are the ones who are lazy and sit around on their asses and don't explore or seek out adventure. We've got amazing restaurants (if you like BBQ, we've got the best one in the region, Dinosaur), some great cafes and shops, and not too bad a nightlife, either. Same with Rochester, which has some amazing museums, and Buffalo, whose Elmwood Village would be the envy of San Francisco, not to mention Delaware Park which is like a smaller Central Park, and every bit as beautiful. Don't get me started on the beauty of the Adirondacks or the Finger Lakes region surrounding Ithaca. So whoever this Rick clown is, he's totally wrong. Probably not from NYS, or he lives in Watertown and hasn't been anywhere else. I couldn't be more proud of my state! Excelsior!
Mat Ras I wouldn't listen to people who trash talk about their own state especially there own county borough and even neighborhood . Those people really hate them selves just visit upstate its nice coming from NYC
It's really nice. I suggest going on a bike ride through town, stopping at the Albright Knox gallery, and going on a boat ride at the waterfront. They're all really nice, and the parks are beautiful. People are negative because we went through the same thing as Detroit (loss of industry, increase in higher skilled jobs), so our population decreased.
Great news Buffalo!!! And, for the nay-sayers; I moved my family from Oklahoma to Buffalo in JANUARY of 1993. It was a great place to live and we enjoyed our experience. Great friends, great food, great times!!!

It's the kind of place that is grimy but beautiful and tells millions of stories.
This place sucks. I'll gladly trade places with you!!!
+cbcrog I live in Edmonton, Canada and I go to Buffalo 2 or 3 times a year and everytime I visit something old comes back to life. It is truly a beautiful city.
They're called zombies lol
Buffalo doesn't suck what so ever... People like you make it suck.
Only showing the city in the summer lol
Ikr 😂😭
That's one of best city wraps I've ever seen....As an Australian now in Thailand I had no idea the city had so much beauty including from the art deco period...I was sitting here wondering how such a knock out collection of 30s high rise buildings had survived the onslaught of modernism in our time....forgive me for saying that while Buffalo is a great name for a river, it doesn't work well for a city of parks and high achievers, with not a cowboy in sight. ..what could you call it....I wonder.....?
Buffalo comes alive in the summer - May thru October is where it’s at.
Urban Dictionary defines Buffalo, a drinking town with a sports problem.

We were one of the, if not the wealthiest cities in the world.. During that time, we gained, as they mentioned, remarkable architecture and infrastructure. Don't make assumptions by running through Google Earth. Visit and look around. You might be pleasantly surprised.
Ya and now it's in the top 10 poorest cities in America I still live here I'm 16 and I can't get out just yet
No offence, but unless you live in the center of the east side, there isn't too much to complain about.
Hey... I noticed ya' didnt show the East Side... lol
Actually watch again -- we did show East side. MLK Park / splash pad, Humboldt Parkway, houses and vacancy around Humboldt, Larkinville / Larkin Square, just to name a few!
I Know. But You know what I mean...lol

Jeff M haha every city has its bad side. If you see Indonesia's travel videos, Indonesia would look like a complete heaven.
I visited Buffalo a few years ago and fell in love with it.
It's changed so much for the better in the last 10 years. You really should visit!
Hamburg or Buffalo? Buffalo has not changed for the better.
Every place in the united states is friendlier than Philadelphia.
marksamuelcohen I live in Hamburg actually.
YOU LIVE IN THE RICK JAMES AND STONE CITY BAND ERA
I have never been more proud of my home town....we are forward thinking survivors...good on you Buffalo!!
Buffalo is an amazing city. I never thought about how it was designed but this is very insightful
ALBANY IS THE POT HOLE CAPITAL OF N.Y.
I remember going to see the BPO every month as a child followed by ice cream at Elmwood Soda Bar.
What a great video and a nice story of the resurgence of Buffalo coming back. Very well put together!! Bravo from Syracuse, NY!

It has some nice looking buildings from years ago, but today Buffalo is just a big ghetto.
I'm from Raleigh, North Carolina, but my girlfriend is from Buffalo...this reminds me of Raleigh (in a way) .I hope to visit one day
Finally got around to watching this. I love Buffalo, and I hope to never have to permanently leave.
I don't ever comment on videos but DAYMN, this is incredible. Thanks John Paget, I'm so proud to be born and raised here!! :)
some of us love historical cities & becoming apart of the community who rebuilds them... buffalo sounds amazing... even w/many of the old abandoned, boarded up old buildings....
Hopefully, once this pandemic ends, those empty spaces can be reclaimed and revamped once again
I really love the way the city has reunited and is reviving.i really hope our country would take an example and do the same.
The country would be fucked then.
Overall the elmwood, allentown, downtown, and North Buffalo areas are generally safe. there is a huge college community in the area also.
mrswasiland alright, can you tell me how the people around the school view it? what is the reputation of buffalo state in the neighborhood? good? bad?
Buffalo is a great city with wonderful people, and lots to do! One of the places I wouldn't mind living in forever.
I move here 3 years ago from Florida and I love this place. It reminds me of my home - Germany. Great people, great Food and soooo much to do. Love this palce.
Such a heavy German and Polish population helped make Buffalo a great town.
This made me incredibly homesick! Buffalo will always be my city, no matter where I live.
I love Buffalo! Maybe the best "food city" anywhere is what I've heard over and over.

I live in Rochester. The weather isn't that bad most of the year. Look at the rest of the country. Floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, wild fires, and earthquakes. We don't have it so bad in WNY.
Makes one PROUD to be from Buffalo/Western New York! Share with everyone!
I couldn't love this video anymore. It shows the ups and downs, it showcases our successes, and our failures, and what we are doing to try and fix the mistakes of the past. I love it!

Good for Buffalo! Hope she succeeds in her revitalization efforts. Great and grand architecture and parks and parkway system! Certainly is one of the best designed cities in America, if not the world. I could live here!
Wonderful video!
Just got my passport renewed here in Canada, and will be coming over for a visit next summer love Buffalo.
Elmwood is sweet, the parks are great, and the music scene is amazing!!
buffalo's streets are actually designed really well, even in fairly heavy traffic it never takes too long to get anywhere.
Wear a kevlar vest when you try that.
I grew up on the west side of Rochester NY....been awhile since I been back miss it though
I'm glad to born in Toronto 'cause closest city from Buffalo Canadian # proud 🇨🇦
5 km from buffalo, still in Canada 🥰
Buffalo is a joke run by democrats that line their pockets with tax dollars and key criminals run free.
I live in Buffalo now for school. But I can watch the sun rise over the ocean from my balcony in Rockaway Beach. I'm enjoying Buffalo. Best of both worlds.

I loved that video and even before I saw it, I loved Buffalo.
So proud to be from this great city. Terrific history is finally coming alive in the new century...
I cant wait for the construction projects will be finished and when the water front will be done. I believe Buffalo is going through a renaissance.
Where is Rochester's renaissance?

"Taking Proud" once again. After decades of nothing but talk and no action, Buffalo is finally coming alive once again. The waterfront is shaping up so we can really enjoy what Mother Nature gave this area. Larkin Square is amazing, and what a great place for us to go to. I was at the Richardson Complex South Lawn Celebration this past Saturday. I must say what replaced the parking lots is fantastic. What an architectural wonder the Richardson Building is. 12+ minutes of video yet no bison to be seen
The bison were replaced with parking decks in the name of urban renewal.
The city of Buffalo wasn't named for the buffalo and/or bison. The name was inspired by the "beautiful river," beau fleuve," in French. The pronunciation was butchered as time went on.

Don't- it's still cold as hell. Google 'october storm' to kill any incentives for moving back there.

Yeah, don't move back here please. It's nice to have no traffic jams, congestion, big city crime, etc. Stay away!
Why would you want to move back to a city that in recent years has had a higher violent crime rate than NYC? And has the 11th highest violent crime rate overall in the nation?
*According to the FBI crime statistics of 2012.

You really really do not wanna come upstate man.
RIck Smith lol reallyy?? please explain
