I know this is probably TMI but.... I got the notification to this video as I was about to sit on the toilet. I've been having this issue for a few weeks now. It was almost like Dr M was in my head and thought to himself, ok this is the time to relase this video... Anyways, so I was dreading this trip to the bathroom. As I am sitting here on the throne, I'm watching the video and taking his steps.... GAME CHANGER!!!!! EVERYTHING and I do mean everything that could come out came out and I feel so relieved. Again yes TMI. but... THANK YOU Dr M!!!!! Once again you have helped me more than you know.

I used to hate that time of the morning. It was a struggle. Then I got a squatty potty. I ate regularly, had my one cup of coffee in the morning. No longer had to force anything, no straining, didn’t have to sit for ages, rarely if ever had tainted tissue when I wiped, and gone are the hemorrhoids. Here a couple of years later, I’m actually enjoying my short time on the throne taking care of my business!!

    ALSO,
You’ve neglected to add massaging the gut by pushing inward on the lower belly to help the feces move through the intestines & colon.
    AND
for the final bits that just sit near the colon but you just can’t push out with your diaphragm, use your index & middle finger and push inward at the PERINEAL AREA. Push inward just below the genitalia and move toward the anus. This can help move those last stubborn bits out.
    LASTLY,
To prevent hemorrhoid irritation, moisten the toilet paper with water and soap before you wipe the area clean. DRY TP has a greater chance of irritating those hemorrhoidal tissues causing painful inflammation.

Great video, Dr. Mandell! As a health professional, I can attest to the importance of proper toilet posture. Elevating the knees not only aids in smoother bowel movements but can also help prevent issues like hemorrhoids and pelvic floor dysfunction.
For those looking to optimize their bathroom experience, consider using a footstool or even a specialized toilet seat designed for this purpose. Small changes can lead to significant improvements in comfort and health. Thanks for shedding light on this often-overlooked topic!

This also mimics the "Wind-relieving pose" or Pavanamuktasana in yoga. With the exception you are sitting on the toilet instead of laying on your back. As with the Pavanamuktasana pose, if you cannot raise both legs, you can try raising one leg at a time and alternate between them. This gently coaxes things along. Another pose I think is great for moving things along is the "Half spinal twist" and a great exercise is the Supine Bicycle Crunches. Pair that with a glass of prune juice with 17gm of Miralax and you will be firing on all cylinders before you know it.

This video really got me thinking! The Hidden Herbs by Anette Ray touches on this too, and it’s a great read overall.

I put my feet on the edge of my bathtub, which makes my legs elevated and a much easier poop. This is also why women should be in a squatting position when birthing a baby as opposed to laying flat on a bed.
If one were to look at the hieroglyphs on the walls of the pyramids in Egypt, as well as in other cultures from ancient times, it is depicted.

When my daughter was about eight or nine she was having a little problem. I told her to take the step stool in, put her feet on that, rub her belly, and pat her head. Success!! 😅
