    Unless and until we have a set of leaders who are ready to tackle the problems of social justice from their roots, nothing will change.
    Firstly, the laws should be modified to take away the powers to appoint heads of Police from the Executives at both federal and state levels for the federal and state Police respectively.
    This would stop this clannish-oriented allegiance as we're seeing of this present IGP.
    When the powers to appoint are taken away from the Executives, it would probably be easier to tackle the incidences of torture by the Police and other Uniformed Services including the armed forces who still have and operate with a zombie mentality.
    It should also be punishable with a minimum of 3 months suspension for any armed services personnel that opens his mouth to call any Nigerian a bloody civilian.
