jealous of that cali weather. we just got almost a foot of snow here in the mid atlantic, which is about a foot too much! beer looks great. bonus point for the sweet chicken coop
I'm pumped you enjoyed the brew so much and it sounds like you loved the beer at least as much as I did! Glad you brewed it!! Happy New Year Brian, thanks so much for the shoutout! Do a Wee Heavy!!
I brewed Steve's Italian Pilsner as well and I had to pause your vid to pour myself one! It's kind of like when you just happen to be eating pizza when a pizza commercial comes on. It just tastes better! Happy New Year and Cheers!
When I started brewing the other day it was 80° and when I got done 3 or 4 hours later it was in the upper 30's. It sure was fun cleaning when I couldn't feel my hands! Brew looks great 👍
Much like when I cook, I clean as I go. I'm sure you do some too but that's why I try not to drink too much until I'm almost done. If I have to let things sit, they sit in PBW. Happy New Year!
I try to clean as I go too, sometimes it’s the fermenters that get me because I usually transfer in the evenings then have other stuff I need to get done for the family and time gets away from me. Cheers!!
What about some British ale's . Bitter, pale ale, light ale, brown ale, mild, London porter, ipa, barley wine, Irish stout etc. Even the UK some of these beers a hard-to-find commercially available ! But thanks to the US craft beer Revolution, we are starting to see a come back of some of these great old style beers. I remember when I started drinking back in the 70s we use to mix some of these. Like brown and mild or light and bitter and even light and lager.
Cleaning is for suckers, I still haven't cleaned from my brew a few days ago... Need to do it now. After your video. And after another few videos. Maybe tomorrow. Cheers!
Thanks for brewing this Italian twist of a German classic. What about brewing a rice lager in the future? I've just finished my keg and it was great, on the next days I'll brew it again but this time replacing saaz with Sorachi ace
Love watching your videos Brian. Unfortunately my local home brew shops does not carry Saphir hops. Would you be able to suggest a suitable substitute?
@@ElementaryBrewingCowith your suggestion I had to get Hallertau Mittlefruer. At what point in fermentation did you dry hop? Have you ever dry hopped using that hop before? Thanks!
looks awesome! Where are you getting your distilled water from in those big containers? I've been using the 1gal cartons from walmart but it seems kind of wasteful on plastic. I recycle it obviously but still....
Thanks! I actually have my water delivered and they do distilled as well as RO. So I usually order RO for the house and distilled for the brewing. Definitely easier getting 5 gal jugs.
Great Video and it's on my list to brew next! Do you do a diacetyl rest in your fermentation schedule or do you let it sit at 65F and 5-10psi for the 8 days you mentioned? Thanks!
@@ElementaryBrewingCo btw, did you add the 1.5oz dry hop Steve has in there? I have Italian pils on my short list and wondering if I brew Steve's or The BYO reciepe of july-august magazine. The byo is lighter on the hops
I am late to the comment section.. but based on your previous double brew day and "so much cleaning", I think it is time for a parti-gyle brew. Maybe a nice Barley Wine for fall and a nice table beer.
Hot water in the bucket and rinse. Once the waters dirty dump and repeat turning bag inside and out. I do that as often as needed until the bucket water is clear.
I’ll have to work on my patience but I do believe that sometimes more time is needed. I didn’t want to keep this one on the hops too long though and the recipe called for a dry hop addition during active fermentation.
Apartment Steve 4 life!
For sure! This beer is dangerously good🍻
Let's get a triple IPA in 2022! Cheers Brian
Triple threat!!! The double I just brewed was pretty good but a nice triple west coast style sounds good!

Ya, not sure what I would do of it snowed here 😂 ya I try to spoil the girls 🐓🐔

Do a Wee Heavy!!
Always Steve!! It’s a great beer, Wee Heavy sounds like an interesting one! On the list!!!

Nice! It’s a really good beer, everyone is really enjoying it! Cheers!!
Made it myself towards the back end of last year and it was my favourite beer of that year, bloody lovely 🍻
It’s a great recipe! Cheers 🍻
Great video as usual and love the shirt! I'm wearing yours in next week's video!
Sweet! And thanks Justin.

Looks great! Cleaning after brew day is 100% the best idea, last brew day I left some of my stuff over night and it was a PAIN to clean.
Always cleaning!! I try and clean as I go so I don’t have too much to do after brew day.
Not my favorite style but IMO an underrated style is ESB. A simple smash ESB i did was fantastic! Awesome vid!
Yes ESB would be a good one! Haven’t had one in quite a while, thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for dropping us some brewing knowledge, mate! Cheers🍻
Thanks for watching!!! 🍻

There’s always tomorrow! PBW works great anyway 😂

I have been thinking a lot about a rice lager actually!! Great suggestion that’s definitely on the list now!
How about a NEIPA/Hazy on your list to brew? Have you brewed a hazy yet? I can't recall... Anyhow, great video Brian. Hope you have a great new year.
What’s up TA? Yes I’ve got a few Neipa and hazy recipes I’ve brewed but need some tweaking. I’ve got a milkshake ipa on my list as well soon.
Great Video Brian! Happy new year 😅 🍻🍻🤙🏼
Happy New Year!!! Thanks!
Love watching your videos Brian. Unfortunately my local home brew shops does not carry Saphir hops. Would you be able to suggest a suitable substitute?

Ive never used Saphir. I'll have try it.
So far I’m very impressed!

Make a barrel aged stout or barley wine
Well done Brian. Maybe an Irish Red?
Yes! I’ve brewed one but I’d like to tweak that recipe a bit. Maybe try it with 34/70 instead, make it super clean!

I usually do a diacetyl rest but because this one was under pressure I didn’t. Thanks for watching!
How about a Dusseldorf Altbier. Those things are so tasty and silky. Jamil's Cowboy Alt reciepe is real good with WLP036
I’ll check that out for sure that’s one that is probably super hard to find where I’m at, so I’ll have to brew it myself:)

@@1TheLord1 yes added the 1.5oz at day 3 while there was still activity with yeast!
So. Much. Cleaning. Turn off the cameras at the end of brew day and the cleaning begins. Great vid!
Thanks Martin!!

Aww yeah!!! Party-gyle sounds fun!!! Haven’t done a barley wine yet, definitely needs to age until fall.
For 2 years now I've wanted to buy some mecca but cant pony up the cash im sure it's good quality.
Great quality! But on the expensive side for sure!
What temp did you ferment this at?
Fermented at 65F under 5 PSI to start then built to 10 PSI by the end.
Chicken breast IPA… and don’t forget to clean your dishes betches 🍻🤘🍻😂
😂😂
How do you clean your bag?
Hot water in the bucket and rinse. Once the waters dirty dump and repeat turning bag inside and out. I do that as often as needed until the bucket water is clear.
I vote for a grisette
Oh absolutely! That is one that sounds AWESOME and you don’t see them around often at all!
Ferment 14 days????
