RC is a cool dude and so laid back it is sometimes easy to forget how much he dominated the sport of MX. Great ambassador for motorcycling and loved the video even though I do not have an adventure bike.
At the beginning of the year, I bought a 900 Rally for a CO BDR trip in July. Farkled it out pretty much the same as RC's. Just Backcountry bags, instead of the Reckless system. It made it an enjoyable trip, and flattered my limited off-road skills immensely. Glad RC's enjoying his.
Excellent perspective on ADV riding from an esteemed motocross rider. Thanks for the perspective, what Ricky shares here is insightful and connected with me on many levels although I am only a year into ADV riding with cruiser/road motorcycle experience. It’s the new learnings and experiences that make it an exciting adventure.
Ever notice how Ricky is riding in front of the camera and it really looks like he is setting down until the camera rider gets closer and you notice that Ricky is standing up...... Love watching him ride........
RC looks back in shape 👍It’s soo cool watching this, after my MX racing years, ADV bikes definitely made a great 2nd part of my two wheel passion, hope to run into the GOAT out here sometime:;
Ricky, you are humble buddy....."I am not much of a mud guy....."-coming from a guy who literally lapped the entire field at the Millville AMA National event in 2006 during one of the craziest mud races of all times.....he lapped the entire field, from 40th place all the way to 2nd place, including hall of famers James Stewart and Chad Reed....... Not much of a guy, huh?????
Still pinching myself that Ricky is ripping and repping the Rally Pro! Hopefully he gets a lot more time on the bike and the rides get harder and faster 😄
Correct. We were able to get the Rally in before the Rally Pro's. So we put that time into getting it prepped for RC. The only thing we didn't get or improve were aux lights.
Even sport off road riding with his pals RC is always gonna be out front. It's a un natural feeling that I don't think RC could handle riding mid pack or in the back. His inner makeup and and champion instinct will always have him making his way to the front lol. Love RC but you'll have to get use to always having the same leader on the trail weather he knows where yall are going or not when RC is in your riding group. :)
You're not completely wrong. But he was actually mid pack quite a bit this trip following the lead of the local trail boss just enjoying the ride and talking smack with his friends. A very relaxed trip really. The footage of him really cook'n was pretty controlled. A couple guys would sweep out in front to make sure we didn't have any oncoming or slow traffic or intersections to worry about. And then we only had one guy that could really keep up with him so they would take off. But yes, he has an instinct and capability that sends him to the front.
I had one on a Super Tenere and now on Africa twin and it really did not bother me, maybe if you were trying to get way up over the bars it might but I dont ride to crazy so I did not have that problem
The 900 is the better offroad bike. In the Rally Pro trim, they both do well but the 900 is just more fun and useable. The 1200 is shockingly compact though and surprised us. We need more time with the 1200 to be able to speak to it in more depth.
The rear rack/grab handles on the Tiger are not ideal, but you can make it work. If that particular bike had belonged to us, we might look at removing or modifying that rear rack. But it would require some fabrication.
Would've been good to see more footage of the 900 in action given this unique opportunity of rider and bike setup. Nice vid otherwise, hearing a motocross riders transition to adv riding. Assuming Triumph supported by loaning out the bikes, Im surprised they allowed the swapping out of genuine parts like seat and crash bars, even if they are better than the Triumph option...
We wanted more footage too. But the schedule was pretty tight with a lot of miles to cover so setting up shots was very difficult. Additionally, keeping up with him was difficult.
Yes i am 5'5" and I ride Tiger Rally Pro.. I have ducati scrambler but trust me, Rally Is A different Joy when it comes to Ride this beast.. It was difficult initially but slowly slowly I got the control over it, the more I ride tiger the more I get confidence...😇
Now RC just has to put in some work on the Tiger Rally 900 as he did with the Tiger MX line so that the Tiger can compete with the KTM's in the ADV market because let's face it, KTM build quality is suspect at best and the design is awful!
Do yourself a favor RC get Mikey to strap a firearm to the side riding up there you could easily encounter a bear or mountain lion pal. We still need you guys

Thank you for watching. RC really is a mellow guy and not racing suits him well even though we all know he a competitor through and through.
RC...looking good! I love my 900 Rally Pro. He nailed it.....this is why we started riding motorcycles. Pure fun
Agrred!

It's an excellent machine. Definitely capable of anything on a BDR.
Got the tiger 1200 just for what he says, fun and getting into the easy outback, gravel n dirt roads for me.
They are great bikes that can handle most anything you want to throw at them. Keep it casual and fun is a great way to be.
This was awesome - so cool to see RC fired up about ADV riding - it's a great community!
It's great to get him out and introduce him to such new experiences.

Welcome to ADV. A whole new spectrum of opportunity is waiting for you.
Welcome to Idaho RC! I am glad you found the joy in riding an adventure bike this beautiful state!
It was a good time for sure.
"I've never been a mud guy...". Only rider to ever pass an entire MX Field....in the mud.
When he gets mad... it doesn't matter anymore. ;)
Ever notice how Ricky is riding in front of the camera and it really looks like he is setting down until the camera rider gets closer and you notice that Ricky is standing up...... Love watching him ride........
The video doesn't do him any justice... he is hauling on the big bike.
Legend! Awesome video. Thanks, Upshift Online for having our products featured on RC's Tiger 900.
As always, we appreciate your partnership and getting us these parts so quickly.
A true ambassador for our sport - interested in how he influences Triumph motorbikes going forward.
They are building a pretty substantial relationship moving forward. You will be seeing RC and Triumph quite a bit more.
RC looks back in shape 👍It’s soo cool watching this, after my MX racing years, ADV bikes definitely made a great 2nd part of my two wheel passion, hope to run into the GOAT out here sometime:;
ADV bikes are a natural next step or an additional step. And thankfully, there are some amazing bikes available now.
5:04 "never been a mud guy". He literally lapped the entire field in the mud 🤣
I was thinking the same thing!!
Me too
that doesnt even sound possible and i wouldve believed unless i saw, noone else has even come close to repeating that
It just pisses him off so it makes him faster... ;)

Not much of a guy,huh?????
Hahaha... I guess it's just a matter of perspective.
Love it. I’m loving Triumph pursuing this sector. It is exciting to imagine what is next.
To be fair, Triumph has had ADV bikes out under the Tiger name for quite some time now.
10k of Colorado on my R Pro. Glad it's GOAT approved!
It's an excellent machine. We ended up buying our media bike from Triumph to keep it in our fleet longer.
What a great ride, as always!
It was a good time to say the least.
Still pinching myself that Ricky is ripping and repping the Rally Pro! Hopefully he gets a lot more time on the bike and the rides get harder and faster 😄
He was actually on the rally 😉 mechanically the same as the pro just missing a few of the factory accessories
Correct. We were able to get the Rally in before the Rally Pro's. So we put that time into getting it prepped for RC. The only thing we didn't get or improve were aux lights.
Come to ride in India in Ladakh-Himalayas, you'll be blown away for sure with your Tiger
That would be great

Awesome!
Thank you!
Did they have any problems with upper engine broken bolts?
We did not have any problems with that on any of the 3 Tigers that were outfitted.
Come to Ga our group has had Mr. Daytona (Scott Russell) a time or two. Thanks to Dave Despain. Hoping to get Chad Anderson involved...
Georgia has some excellent riding.
Did Outback Motortek supply the crash protection and pannier racks?
Yes
ADV riding. The next BIG thing in motorcycles.
Dualsport and ADV have been the growth segments for the motorcycle industry for a few years now. It's a great time.
Calling Montana and Idaho the Midwest! Please take a time out and come back when you say you're sorry.
I thought the same thing. I was raised in the midwest and Idaho / MT are definately not that! :-)
He's from Florida... he gets a pass this time. We will make sure he doesn't do it again. ;)
Which engine guard is this?
Outback Motortek
That nomad tank bag is ginormous! Did it get in the way while standing?
I had one on a Super Tenere and now on Africa twin and it really did not bother me, maybe if you were trying to get way up over the bars it might but I dont ride to crazy so I did not have that problem
We have run the Nomad on pretty much every ADV on the market and never once have we felt like it was in the way or inhibiting movement on the bike.
I got the scrambler1200xe, also a great bike.
Super fun bike. #ridemore
What vest is that guys, that Ricky is wearing?
That was a vest the FOX put out for a little while. I don't think they make it any longer.
Why no hand guards on the tiger 900 Rally?
It comes with hand guards. Ricky preferred them off.
What were the tires RC was running on his bike?
Dunlop D606
Test the new 1200 that will come up, PLEASE ! 🙏😁
If we can get our hands on one, we will. It looks promising that they will send us one for a while.
I wonder if you prefer the 1200 instead of the 900 off road?
The 900 is the better offroad bike. In the Rally Pro trim, they both do well but the 900 is just more fun and useable. The 1200 is shockingly compact though and surprised us. We need more time with the 1200 to be able to speak to it in more depth.
Hi
Mosko moto revolver can fit directly on tiger 900?
TIA
The rear rack/grab handles on the Tiger are not ideal, but you can make it work. If that particular bike had belonged to us, we might look at removing or modifying that rear rack. But it would require some fabrication.
Give us some news about the upcoming Triumph dirt bikes!
Nothing to talk about yet.
Would've been good to see more footage of the 900 in action given this unique opportunity of rider and bike setup. Nice vid otherwise, hearing a motocross riders transition to adv riding. We wanted more footage too. But the schedule was pretty tight with a lot of miles to cover so setting up shots was very difficult. Additionally, keeping up with him was difficult.
So even if you are 5’6” like RC and myself you can ride a tiger 🐅 triumph is saying!
No problem! ;)
Funny, the one with the camera had a KTM
Had to ride something... All of our Triumphs were under riders in front of the camera. ;)
How can you comment on scenery when doing 40mph? Just saying...
Well, if you travel 40 miles in an hour, you see a lot…
We stop a fair amount to and take in the views and shoot photo/video. We covered quite a few miles and took some time doing it.
Now RC just has to put in some work on the Tiger Rally 900 as he did with the Tiger MX line so that the Tiger can compete with the KTM's in the ADV market because let's face it, KTM build quality is suspect at best and the design is awful!
The Tiger 900 definitely competes. They have simply tailored the bike to work for different riders. But the are very comparable.
Do yourself a favor RC get Mikey to strap a firearm to the side riding up there you could easily encounter a bear or mountain lion pal. We still need you guys
Hahaha... he was going too fast for the critters to catch him. The rest of us were behind ready to be sacrificed to anything hungry enough.
Im sorry but what does this joker know about riding a motorcycle
A bare minimum.
