Trust me Jack, when I heard the complaints about the explicit nature of WAP all I could think was how the selective amnesia when it comes to 90s and 2000s rap somehow spread from one person to another. Cardi B and Megan aren't Cardi B and Megan without what came before them, it's really that simple lol. I love this, one of my favourite songs to come on in the club. Please react to: Mike Jones - Still Tippin (feat Slim Thug and Paul Wall) Mystikal - Shake Ya Ass, Danger (Been So Long) [feat Nivea], Bouncin' Back (Against the Wall) Petey Pablo - Raise Up Trillville - Some Cut J-Kwon - Hood Hop, Tipsy, Get XXX'd (feat Petey Pablo and Ebony Eyez) Pastor Troy - Are We Cuttin'? (feat Ms. Jade) Bubba Sparxxx - Ugly, Deliverance
I agree! Let's not forget the "OG" Uncle Luke! Whom went to the Supreme Court, for freedom of speech! He really paved the way for artist to express themselves.
Except for WAP sucks. I don't think people had a problem with the explicit nature of WAP as much as people are hating on men for "sexualizing" women while propping up this song and saying that it isn't the same.
I mean if you want to go there do Nelly Tip Drill lol. I mean WAP is like Disney Song compared to what we listened to in the 90 and early 2000s and lets not even bring up Luke or BET Uncut songs lmao
So Lil John who produced this song gave Usher and Petey Pablo this beat. Petey released his song first which forced lil john to change the beat to what is now Ushers biggest songs Yeah. If you listen you can almost hear the similarities.
FUN FACT: THIS WAS THE ACTUAL ORIGINAL BEAT TO USHER’S HIT SONG “YEAH”. HOWEVER USHER’S LABEL WAS TAKING TO LONG TO RELEASE IT SO LIL JON RESOLD THE BEAT TO PETEY PABLO. USHER HEARD IT ON THE RADIO AND CONFRONTED LIL JON ABOUT IT. LIL JON APOLOGIZED AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND WENT IN AND MADE A BRAND NEW BEAT FOR THE SONG WHICH ENDED UP AS THE FINAL VERSION OF “YEAH!” THAT WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE TO THIS DAY!!!
Tyrin Turner , who rose to fame as Caine in Menace II Society played that character in BELLY (98), he's just replaying the same shit he did in the movie.
Anyone remember when this would come on the radio and when he says "Now shout out the radio station that gave ya what ya wanted" and then there would be a voice over saying the actual radio station you were listening to it on?
Yeeees the nostalgia!! A club BANGER to THIS DAY. Crunk music was always my favorite !! Being from Texas Southern music is my first love. You’re exactly right Jack, this music has BEEN around all over the 90s/2000s especially. Even the songs 80 was wild!
You are a 100% right about that energy being there back in the day. When I was in high school the song called "my neck my back" was all over the radio!!! if you don't know that song you should definitely check that 1 out.
This came at a time when the South was starting to run hip-hop and was becoming mainstream. I remember damn near every hip-hop song on the radio was a Lil' Jon feature or production. The culture was shifting. This goes AWFFF in any club or strip club!!!

Like when this song came out you didn't really hear it on the radio but these type of songs today are played on all kinds of radio stations. I think that's the major difference.
I remember this song was in midnight club game I love this song when I was in middle school but I didn’t knew what the song was about until I read the lyrics I was saying this is a freaky song lol…
This took me back to all nighters in the club. If you think this is something try some Uncle Luke and 2 live crew or 95 south. Them FL boys were something else in the 90s.
Please react to Mystikal- Here I Go, Danger, Tarantula, Shake It Fast, also Juvenile- 400 Degreez, HA, Slow Motion, Back That Azz Up, Rodeo, Set It Off, G Code, U Understand, Bounce Back, & In My Life.
LMAO you asking about the girl in the blue is hilarious , he addressed it on the remix saying everyone’s asking him who she is , while he’s out here tryna find her himself

Ok 2nd comment. You would probably like a lot of Nelly's stuff, so much of it is good. One that has a lot of nostalgia for me and that I feel like you would like is Hot in Here, song and video.
My daughter asked me "why u quack quack daddy" once she was 2 or 3 n ever since when I hear this song I go: why u quack quack daddy, why u quack quack daddy freakk a leek!
This was a banger when it came out. This lil jon era was unstoppable at the time. Lovers and friends usher lil jon. No problem lil scrappy. What you gone do lil jon.
The real ones know this from Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition 😂 Esther Baxter fine ass in the blue. Lil Duval made a lot of cameos. Him and T.I. were/are friends and he appears in some of his videos back then. Check out Petey Pablo - Raise Up T.I. - Rubberband Man Lil Jon - Play No Games
Petey Pablo started with Timbaland. TImbo made his own Record Label in the early 2000s called Beat Club Records. Petey Pablo is one of the artist. Also the fat white guy in this MV, his artist name is Bubba Sparxxx. You should react to his song " UGLY"(produced by Timbo, with a Missy sample). Other artists from Beat Club Records: Ms. Jade, Kiley Dean, Sebastian (TImbo's brother), Raje Shwari, and I even think Nelly Furtado for a while.
Jack - what she say ... ooh I like that Okay jack Check out his song raise up Da entourage- bunny hop Ying yang twins - whistle while you twerk & salt shaker
You need to watch the movie "Rize". It is a great documentary on the originators of krumping out here in South LA, and Watts. It won all kinds of awards. Great music for kids and young adults trying to make it, having a sense of community. Also it's a great way to deal and get aggression out. BTW some of them ended up doing music videos, dancing on tour with Madonna, Missy Elliott, Ciara, etc...
This is my favorite Petey Pablo song this and his song Raise Up. This song is extra dirty way worse than WAP which is why I like it. The beat to this song is similar to Usher - Yeah.
I agree with you, people who complained about WAP clearly are just fans and listeners of music and not connoisseurs of music because if they were they'd know their musical history and know that WAP was nowhere as near as explicit as let's say ...2 Live Crew and Uncle Luke who actually had to fight in the court system for their first Amendment right up to the Supreme Court and won their case. They're the reason the black and white sticker with "explicit parental warning must be 18 to purchase" came about to be put on CDs and cassettes. And they were doing music back in the late 80s and went mainstream in the early 90s.
People are probably having issue about WAP because it is two women singing about it, but men can sing songs and not face the same backlash. we know how sexist and double standard the industry is.
I agree that music with explicit lyrics has been around for years but for some reason its different when a woman is saying it 🤷♀️ #DoubleStandards thanks for pointing that out Jack, love ❤
Lmao man y’all got Jack listening to all the old ratchet hits. I love it 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣 facts!
"ratchet hits" 😂
For real bruh.
Right tho!!!😂😂😂🙌🏾🙌🏾
😂😂💀🤣 Truth!!
Do y'all think "Laffy Taffy" from D4L would be too ratchet? That was the joint back in middle school 🤣🤣
😭😭🤣🤣🤣
The girl in the blue is the one and only Esther Baxter. She was one of the top video vixens of that time. She’s gorgeous. 😃
Also Joe Budden's xgirlfriend
@@juiceplanet147 facts, OLS3 is about her
The woman in the blue is Esther Baxter. And Lil Jon made the beat. Lil Jon was making a lot of beats for different artists during this era.
This song is wild, crazy when you go over songs when you're older and you realise what the songs really singing about
I know. Listening to this at 11. Had no business
Facts, back in the days .damn the beat is great. ADULT ME DAMN PETEY AHAHA
Please react to:
Mike Jones - Still Tippin (feat Slim Thug and Paul Wall)
Mystikal - Shake Ya Ass, Danger (Been So Long) [feat Nivea], Bouncin' Back (Against the Wall)
Petey Pablo - Raise Up
Trillville - Some Cut
J-Kwon - Hood Hop, Tipsy, Get XXX'd (feat Petey Pablo and Ebony Eyez)
Pastor Troy - Are We Cuttin'? (feat Ms. Jade)
Bubba Sparxxx - Ugly, Deliverance
Yes! You are right. There is no Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion without artists like Lil Kim and others who had songs that still make me blush!
I agree! Let's not forget the "OG" Uncle Luke! Whom went to the Supreme Court, for freedom of speech! He really paved the way for artist to express themselves.
True. Men do it all the time in the music so I don’t know why people were hot about it
Except for WAP sucks. I don't think people had a problem with the explicit nature of WAP as much as people are hating on men for "sexualizing" women while propping up this song and saying that it isn't the same.
I had no clue I needed this reaction in my life until I saw the notification 😂
I mean if you want to go there do Nelly Tip Drill lol. I mean WAP is like Disney Song compared to what we listened to in the 90 and early 2000s and lets not even bring up Luke or BET Uncut songs lmao

Just about as old as Jack lol
Lol! Petey Pablo is from my state. When this song hit North Carolina went crazy. They loved Petey back then.
This was the original beat for Usher's Yeah but Usher requested a new beat after he discovered it had been used twice.
The lil duval scene was paying homage to a movie (I think it was belly)
You are absolutely correct
Tyrin Turner , who rose to fame as Caine in Menace II Society played that character in BELLY (98), he's just replaying the same shit he did in the movie.
Exactly!
Dope movie!
Anyone remember when this would come on the radio and when he says "Now shout out the radio station that gave ya what ya wanted" and then there would be a voice over saying the actual radio station you were listening to it on?

The freak nasty songs have been around for a long time especially late 90s early 2000's but those kinds of songs are much more mainstream today and the videos are much more explicit.
