Guys, here everything changes, here we have introverts, extroverts, if you just want to study you can just not socialize much, being different is ok here, without stress and going out of your comfort zone you will never achieve something, saying that you should stay at your home is not the best advice, apply and see how it goes, never fear anything.

i have social anxiety, the group activity was kinda good and i made some friends, but the interview was a nightmare. i finished it with tears and a panick attack, i felt so bad after that bcs i was eventually rejected, still hurts bsc i think i could do it better://
i think im gonna apply this year too, will be the third time lol
How can you apply three times you can only apply lf you are a sophomore or junior?

@@myownchaos9144 hi, i know it's different for every committee but in mine, we did little games about social problems, and we did a politic debate about a peruvian case at that moment, we had mini interviews, they asked me about my intention to go to uwc, my goals and things like that. hope this helps and good luck

I applied, made it through the written application and interview. The group activity wasn't so good for me.
I think I messed up a little here and there. Blame ocd and other stuff for that.
Sometime ago, I got rejected :/

I think the reason I wasn't able to get in was that i kinda struggle with social interaction. I think it was visible in the group activity. I was trying hard not to show it but eh
I think that you will eventually make it. Don't let a condition dictate what you are able to do. I am also looking forward to apply for it, so lets hope we can both be accepted.

@@xtremekraken oh yeah, I applied during Covid, so the group activity was cancelled, but, UWC is overall pretty good! I hope you get accepted!
Thanks so much for that!! I was about to send my application today, but now I'm kind of hesitant. I might wait 'till I graduate highschool and go there for college, when I'll know my needs a bit better. So glad I found this video
To address your points:
1) Teachers don’t change regularly. Maybe they did at your UWC during their year but when I was 14 years old at Waterford in 2004 I had a maths teacher called Mr King. He is the deputy vice principal of Waterford today. If I go back to my UWC tomorrow I’ll recognise 50% of the faces.
2) if you’re an introvert then UWC might be the best place because the folks there will understand and accept your personality traits and (most importantly accommodate themselves to make you more comfortable)
3) Maybe your year had academically weak folks but my year had people that went to some of the best colleges in the world and are today leaders in their chosen fields.
4) Not liking stress?? Please, grow up.

appreciate your comment! i think 1&3 for sure depend on UWC, and i agree with 2, although as an introvert myself coming into UWC i didn't feel a lot of such support. but again, i totally agree that this might be a school-specific or my experience only.
not sure what you mean about stress. i saw how many people struggled with academics & overall felt overwhelmed which affected their mental health to the worse. not everyone is ready for that kind of pressure and not everyone needs it. i think it is an important warning.
Well on your first point, I think she meant something different. Like by change you could come up with many points such as the change of your friend group, the ppl you spend your time most etc.
I checked the video again, its abt what u said lol, but yeah a change in lifestyle comes nevertheless

Hey, thinking of applying what do you think is the best route? GSP or through the National committee??
@@mildredmavindu5794 It depends. Applying through the GSP has its pros and cons. Applying through the GSP you are not considered for financial support (thus, you’d need to have healthy parents who can pay the school tuition), however, applying through the GSP will allow you to have a larger say in the specific school that you are going to (you’ll be provided a few school you can personally choose from). Now, applying through a national commitee has the great benefit that it will provide you with financial support, however, when applying to a national commitee you won’t have the same day in what school you are going to - You can often request but it ultimately depends on 1. The scholarships available for the national commitee (let’s say you are American applying through the American national commitee then you would but most likely to go to the US UWC). 2. Your national commitee might consider your school request but will also look at you as a person and put you in the school they believe is the best fit for you - and isn’t a bad thing - I originally requested to go to Canada but was send to RCN Norway, which I ended up loving a lot! All UWC schools have their own great qualities.

But I heard that IB isn't that much useful for studying medical which I wanna study after school. Is it true? What's your idea?!
Many of my friends are now studying medicine in university, and they took Biology and Chemestry in IB, which I think was very helpful. I belive you could do anything after UWC, there isn't any division and etc

HOW CAN WE CHOOSE OUR SUBJECTS IN UWC? CAN YOU GUIDE ME?
hey, yeah, you can choose your subjects. UWC is IB dimploma program, and it varies by year and school which subjects are offered when you get there
I'm too young yet to apply, but I want to try out next year. I have a question, do I have to have good grades to get in?
I applied this year and as I understand you don’t need the best grades but you still need decent ones.

Hey! “Good” grades that show that you will be able to manage IB (UWC academic curriculum) should suffice! I didn’t have straight A-s and I’m sure you don’t need a perfect transcript too.

If you mean that you’ve already done IB, I’m not sure. It depends on your age at the time of application!

@@loay7270 nope, i was one of the top applicants from the country, they failed to give me any scholarship, only gave it to those who were *extremely* under-priveledged. i wasn't capable of paying either. but it was a pr game lmfao. 2 ppl were from underprivileged (like very under-priveledged) background, the rest 13-14 were rich asf. the dynamic is crazyyyyy
