Seems like you would make an excellent preschool teacher! Thanks for all the ideas...my daughters 3 and we’re starting homeschool preschool next week 😊❤️
Thank you for the inspiration!! My son just turned 3 and he already knows his Abc', 1-40 and colors and also the weather and all the monster TRUCK'S name lol and knows how to spell his name and also BLIPPI'S😂. English and spanish.. but now I'm helping my nephew that is taking him a little bit longer to talk or even say his abc's so I volunteered to help him by bringing him with us... Hopefully he can learn from my baby and thanks for all your tips...also try checking out Goodwill's or thrift stores for books or even the dollar tree...I actually bought bunch of book and educational activity worksheets....
@@TresChicMama I can understand how you would feel shy, but you really are doing a fantastic job. You have all the main parts of preschool in your daily schedule! Having time for singing, dancing, reading, and activities are so important at this age. I also do "calendar time" with my daughter each day. We sing the days of the week song, months of the year song, and discuss the weather. We also talk about what day it is today, what day it was yesterday, and what day it will be tomorrow. She loves starting out our preschool time with calendar. :)
This video inspired me SO much!! Please make a video on every theme! We do sensory bins all the time but we have never done a farm one! I’m def going to do this now that you gave me the idea. You are an incredible mom! 💕
Omg. New to homeschooling this year!! 3 kiddos 🤦🏻♀️. Well 1 is a baby. Ha. I have been working on our schedule. It’s a trial and error for now. But we got this!! 💪🏻my background in education/days Etc better kick in and push us thru!! 🤪
Hi Hayley, If you have a laminator you can laminate the worksheets so Sydney can use them over and over, saves you on paper in the long run. You’re doing great, thanks for the tips.
I'm going to start some mild preschooling (my daughter just turned 2) and I had no idea where to start... As always, your videos are SO inspiring! Also, any plans for another recipe book? Sorry if you've mentioned that already in other videos, I may have missed some! Take care :)
You might like mother goose time its a monthly subscription. They mail you all the supplies. Its usually done in schools and daycares but you have the choice to use it with 1 child
In preschool/daycare our units would typically be 2 weeks to a month long. One sensory activity my students love for a farm unit is wash the farm animals. There are also a lot of really good children's books that go along with a farm study. Laurie Berkner also has several good movement songs that have to do with farm animals. TH-cam also has some amazing read a louds for books. Another great printable resource is Teachers pay Teachers. If you put some of the worksheets in sheet protectors and get dry erase markers she can do them over and over again.
I highly recommend Mrs. Plemmon’s Kindergarten preschool unit! You do have to pay for it but it’s all ready to go and each week has a theme for the whole year! It’s so much fun!! Loving the farm theme 🥰
@@chikkita18 I think for each unit it’s around that price but for the whole year it’s like $200. Plus supplies 😩 it makes life soooo much easier though not having to put each lesson plan together!
Take a blanket and school work when you go on your walks. They learn colors easier when you get them to look for it like trees, flowers, ect. Shapes same way.Theme weeks are also like farm week then go on a field trip to match theme weeks. Noodles , rice, jello sensory bins are awesome to.
Wow your such a amazing mum! I honestly feel like my son will benefit so much more from attending kinder. But kinder in Australia is only like 200 every 3 months. Can't believe the price of it in the U.S. 😳😳
Here are some of my students favorite Farm Theme books when I taught 2 and 3 year olds: (1). Little Blue Truck by Alice Schertle (2). Pete the Cat: Old MacDonald Had a Farm by James Dean (3). The Little Red Hen by Diane Muldrow (4). Down on the Farm by Merrily Kutner
Can't wait to see how your home schooling routine looks like! I was a former preschool teacher for 2 1/2 to 3 year olds and I cannot wait until my little one turns three next year to start preschool activities. Hope you have a great day! ❤Kaily
@@TresChicMama haha! You are doing great so far! I LOVE that you made a sensory bin, and that you will be using this theme for a few weeks to talk about the animals, apples, and pumpkins. This theme has a lot to cover but it is also really fun!
This is awesome thank you for al the ideas! I’m going to start a binder like that , my little one isn’t 3 yet so she’s not as interested unless I’m letting her go wild 😜
I read your description. When you say your first unit what exactly do you mean? Sorry, I'm first time mom and first time homeschooling a pre k. Until is a daily lesson or like a weekly thing? I don't know if I make sense.
So basically a theme. I guess technically it’s called unit 🤷♀️ idk haha You can change the theme every week or spend more time on a specific topic (ie dinosaurs, weather, ocean, spring etc.)
A school year curriculum is usually broken up into several units, just as a way to organize the learning process. Here she's doing a farm unit first and then will move to the next unit that will probably be related in some way, like maybe a "food unit" for example. If units are connected nicely it will help the student to build the new information on top of their recently gained knowledge. So if she does a food unit next, her daughter will remember from the farm unit that cows make milk, and in the food unit she'll learn that milk can be made into cheese or yogurt. How long a unit is just depends on how much detail you want to go into on one topic. Probably 1-4 weeks?
I’m so curious what your approach will be towards teaching how most farm animals are raised - I.e. in cages etc. rather than out in free pasture (the fantasy version we are grew up with). I want to make sure I teach our kids the truth about where/how most animals are farmed, or the different ways (I.e. more friendly vs not at all friendly). My eldest is only 2.5 though, so obviously not going to show him LUCID or anything like that!! What do you think your approach will be? I only ask because I’m not sure how I’ll approach it myself. I want to tell my children the truth about animal cruelty but I also don’t want to overburden their little minds... and I suppose part of me will find it hard to explain why we eat animals after explaining to them what some of them (most of them) go through. It’s a hard topic! Definitely no all Old MacDonald, heh?!
I’m a teacher and I use Teachers Pay Teachers for a lot of my resources! I also am a creator on there and would love to send you my new resource, Boho Number Posters, to hang up in Sydney’s playroom!
If you decide to look into any sort of curriculum - I havent started yet, but i think i am going to invest in the playing preschool curriculum. The first unit is apples and is viewable online for an idea of a "curriculum" based if you wanted to explore that. If you did - please share! Id love to other reviews if you do try it! (:
You are just doing normal teaching, playing things with her at home, right? She's daycare age and they do learn things there, but it's not too regimented. We all have to schedule lots of different segments anyway because neither they nor we can handle too much of the same thing for too long. LOL. If this is still going on when we get to high school trig, I'm done for! You are fortunate to have a child who is so diligent at mastering the things you present her with. She is at the sponge period of her brain life, so take advantage of it. She would be in daycare until age 4 then preschool then kindergarten. You do not have to burden yourself with a specific curriculum until you find yourself homeschooling first grade. You'll both enjoy this. You need some time with other adults. Good for you. Autumn is a great season to do a farm theme due to the harvested crops. The weather wheel is a terrific idea. Since there are about 4 major different types of clouds and all the types of precipitation (like rain, snow, sleet, hail) she will have a great time because Sydney's noticed most of those already when out and about with you. If your Free Library is back open, they may have started some programs back up with appropriate pandemic protocols being observed. So, you may find something great for you all to attend there. If her pediatrician is monitoring her gait, run, growth, etc., that's just her then. All kids are different and exhibit different strengths in various phases of their lives. No worries.
I adore Suzy over at @busytoddlermom on IG and she has books on preschool (she’s a teacher) that I believe you can purchase and download. Her activities and methods are so amazing and fun/interactive I always recommend her and use her weekly for learning ideas

With the paper sheets you can put it in a slip cover and let her use dry erase marker and you can re use it more than once. 🐷🐮🐔🦆🐣🐣🦅🐜🐜🐞🐞
