I own a 1999 8530 CaseIH, puts out a 14 X 16. These balers are the stuff yall. Perfect bale everytime, whether the windrows are thin or thick. Did you notice in the video how small and thin the windrow was? The conventional side plungers style balers wood be makin catapillars in this type of thin hay. The only downside with these balers is sharpening the knives, the ones in the chamber itself can be easily removed and sharpened, but the ones on the plunger are a royal pain in the arse.
The Claas Maximum baler used to make a bale like that. The crop knives were underneath the chamber just like that one .I remember as a kid riding with my dad in the tractor pulling the baler down a country lane. We had to pull over onto the side of the road ( and almost into the ditch ! ) to let a car come past. I asked dad "Why don't they make balers so as the pick up is behind the tractor instead of being offset? " He looked me in the eye and said " Yes, why DON'T they? what a good idea!"
$18, 000 when i was shopping for one four years ago. I bought one used for 9000 and have been IMMENSELY satisfied with it's performance. I've got a Hesston 4570 but it's the same machine as the 1837
