Each fly has many unblinking eyes, so 173 will not be snapping any necks if there are enough flies around. The feces 173 produces can also help to create more flies as the flies lay their eggs on it that will then be eaten by maggots.
Another benefit is that, fly’s are stupidly hard to hit, and have no necks to snap. Even if it managed to get a small amount of movement time there’s no way it would be able to get rid of enough flies in time to start getting more movement time. So what we’re left with is a self keeping containment procedure that gets safer as time goes on and, as long as the room is undisturbed by anything else, can’t be slowly whittled away either.
