- This project car came with a special purpose in mind. From 2008 until she passed away in 2014, my friend Kyle's mom drove it. The car later left the state for almost a decade and changed hands a couple of times. I acquired it after it had been involved in a rear-end collision and restored it to show Kyle and his family.

For some reason my phone screen is blurry as I post this. Oh, wait! It's because my eyes have tears in them! Awwww you're so in tune with life and why we are here -- which is to enhance the lives of those with whom we associate. Well done, again! Your attention to every detail does not go unnoticed. I am so proud and blessed to have you as a son. ❤
Thanks for tuning in!
This video touched my heart, Tyson. This shows what an incredible friend you are, as I already know. As the owner of my deceased mother’s Legend, I know what a special meaning a car can have. Jason, thank you for your part in this car’s restoration.
Definitely, thanks Tom! That means a lot.
Awesome job on the restoration. You are the type of friend we all need.
Thank you!
I got a little teary eyed watching this. What a special way to honor and remember Kathi ❤
Thank you Ty!
You are a great friend. This was really cool to watch.
My mom, Kathy, passed away in 2019 at the age of 48 very unexpected. Her last car was a 2017 Accord. It was weird coming home to visit and not seeing the car in the driveway anymore. I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for that generation Accord in white.
Thanks for sharing. Agreed, those Accords will probably always make you think of her. Sorry for your loss!
What a great friend you are Tyson.
I appreciate that!
This is a feel good moment. She's smiling up in heaven. Wonderful tribute for a wonderful woman with her wonderful car. You're a great friend and enthusiast.
Thank you - I appreciate that!
An incredible gift to an incredible family from an even more remarkable friend. You are one of a kind, we are all so lucky to have you in our lives! ❤
Aw thanks and likewise!
Our time on the planet is very short. enjoy life to the fullest and be kind to one another.
Agreed, thank you!
Beautiful story & another beautiful Acura lives on. My dad had a '74 Chevelle Malibu Classic. It was the car I learned to drive with. I'm sure the car wasn't special to him, but it was to me. In 2012, months after my dad passed, I located a clean '74 Malibu Classic in North Fort Myers, FL., with 54,000 verifiable miles and clean. A retired gentleman who purchased it from his elderly next door neighbor 20 years earlier in Ohio.
My hope was to repaint the same green exterior & reupholster the interior to match. I held the car a few years but at that time the cost was too overwhelming for me. I was desperate to hold on to or enhance my memory of my dad. I was satisfied I did and let the car go to a disabled vet in NJ who wanted one of these since he went off into the army and his parents sold it while he was away, not knowing how much he loved his '74 malibu Classic. I felt I did right by the car and you did as well. Nice going Tyson.
Thanks for sharing that experience, it is nice when people understand that cars can be such a sentimental thing.
What a nice gesture and tribute for the family. No doubt her memory lives on. We have a 2000 RX300 my mom drove. It's been in our family since new. My mom passed a while ago but just seeing the car still brings back memories.
Aw that's good her RX is still around
This was a beautiful story. You're a good man, Tyson. It must have been an emotional moment for the family to see the car again. God Bless Kathi. Thank you for sharing this with us Tyson.
Absolutely, thanks for tuning in and watching the story.
Probably one of the best Japanese built Acura’s. Great video!
Thank you!
Tyson! Brother, this video was so awesome. This is a special moment and deed for a friend. Much love, and rest in heavenly peace Kathy. ❤🕊
Thank you Michael!
What a kind gesture from you to Kathi's family and her. She smiled big time on ya from above! Very cool restoration. The amount of work/time this all takes... Way to go buddy 🥰
Thanks man!
This was a fantastic story - absolutely awesome to see this car and its family reunited. The body shop did a great job, too - the paint looks seamless.
Great story!
Glad you enjoyed it, Tim!
I've always loved the first generation TSX, it looks so timeless in its design, and I'm glad you wanted to preserve the car for years to come on behalg of a good friend. I'm sure his mother, if she were still in this world today, would appreciate her TSX still in flawless condition. All the hoops you went through in order to preserve this car was amazing, and such a good friend that you are to want to preserve the memory of a family member. For those who have never driven a TSX, it is one of the best entry level Acura sport sedans you can ever purchase, especially this first generation. People like Tyson are examples of why Acura cars are so great, and why people should show more appreciation to their vehicles.
Thanks for that, and I agree the G1 TSX is an incredible platform that even today looks and drives impressively.
This was so touching! What a wonderful thing to do. It makes me miss my silver 2008 TSX! Maybe another is in my future.
I remember your old TSX! They are great cars
The finished product came out great! The TSX models has grown on me a lot. I've really grown to love my TSX Sport Wagon
One of these days I need to do a video on a Sport Wagon. Wish you were local.
@@TysonHugie I think that'd be pretty cool to see my car on your channel!
Tyson, I love your channel and your videos. It's so lovely to see another Acura fan, even more dedicated to it than I am. Keep it up.
That means a lot - thank you!
Bro this is so dope man!!! Some folks dont understand how much sentimental value come with these cars, but
Thank God for somebody like you who understands it, and has the ability to restore those feelings and memories by restoring these cars. Great job Bro fr I can only hope to get to this point once Im financially in position 🙌🏾
Thanks man, I appreciate the support always!
Great story and memorable thing to do for your friend and his family with an Acura theme! Your cinematic camera work is on point.. Well done my friend!!
Hey thanks, I wanted to put some extra effort into this one, and even spent a long time finding the right soundtrack. Hope you are doing well my friend.
What a great way to honor your friend. A wonderful tribute!
Thanks, that means a lot!
What a wonderful experience you gave to that family on mother's day.
Thank you!
Tyson - beautiful job as usual and so touched by the whole effort for the Baker fam. Happy I was able to help move it back home to AZ! 😎
Jason, thank you for your part in this moving restoration project.
Thanks again Jason!
Dang it Tyson this ain’t the first time one of your videos made me cry😭👌. I know you can’t help it; your just a kind soul 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤜🏽. Dang it Tyson 👌
Thanks David!
Cool, just subscribed today. I’ve been a Honda guy since the early 90s when my buddy had a 91 CRX Si and he showed me how much abuse that could take without breaking. I currently have a 92 Civic Si hatch with half a million kms and a tired engine,a ‘14 civic coupe 5 speed and a near mint 01 prelude, leather interior,5 speed. My wife drives a nice 05 Acura TL that I bought her 8 years ago. My Prelude has to be close to one of the last ones ever built because it was built in October of 2001 which is very late in the model year. Hello from Vancouver island British Columbia 😊
Thanks for tuning in from Canada. Your Prelude sounds like an awesome ride.
Good job! One day I’ll own a 06-08 TSX as a daily driver…
Absolutely. Thanks Spencer!
What an awesome shape I love my 2004 although it has its issues due to age it is a shape that many cars tried to replicate.
Definitely, hard to believe the design is 20 years old now
Love your videos! I'd Love a makeover like that. My clear coat has faded so my SSM is looking more like toast
Thanks for checking it out!
Amazing restoration Tyson.
Thanks Sanjay!
Wow that is so cool!! I think we can all concur that you are good friend.
The boys over at Apex seem to have some pretty chill music, Even a little bit of Hillsong In the mix there. Super cool that you get to see all the work they're doing behind the scenes!!
It's fun to drop in and see the progress on stuff over there.
You’re such a nice and cool car dude, Tyson ! 😎
Aw appreciate that
You’re such a good boy! ❤️
Awe, thanks!
Beautiful, your kindness knows no bounds! ❤
Thank you Damon!
You're an amazing dude! that was rad to do
Glad you enjoyed it Bryan
@@TysonHugie Definitely did! Cheers! 🥂
Wow this was really special!
Thank you!
Awesome Tyson just Awesome.
Thank you!
What a beautifull story and tribute to Kathy's 2006 TSX.
I had the same car myself in Europe as a Honda Accord. It was such a great car and fenomenal to drive. These cars are ultra reliable and have a great chassis. I regret to having sold it 10 years ago. Now I want one back but they are not easily to find here in Europe.
I really enjoyed this video as it brings back memories to my own Honda Accord.
Glad you enjoyed it!
It made me tear up 🥲
Thanks for watching, Jared!
Amazing video, thanks for sharing
You bet, thanks for checking it out!
great work bro love how it turned out!
Thanks Nate!
I absolutely love this first gen TSX. Fantastic project Tyson. It looks amazing.👍🏻🇺🇸
Same here, such a great platform. Thank you!
What a great video.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks Mark!
What a sentimental restore! Great job as always Tyson!
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Tyson, heartfelt work all the way around. Great restoration and awesome reveal! You are right when saying that the Acura/Honda community is a big pat of hobby. Cars with history are just that more interesting. Thanks for heartwarming video, you made my day!
Thanks Mark! Glad you enjoyed it. Agreed - all about the history.
The TSX with it's K-Series motor and great suspension is very undervalued, or a super value depending on how you want to view it. Great job saving this one. If you follow any TSX groups they seem to be dying out due to accidents quite often and not because of mechanical failure.
Agreed, mechanically these cars are so solid.
Bro your heart is so big and genuine your such a good human being 💯💯 I hope they enjoy there beautiful TSX
I appreciate that!
@@TysonHugie of course and I also wanted to ask if you would know where I can find a engine for 1990 - 91 Honda accord coupe ?
Love the TSX. It just needs a front lip to complete the look.
That would be a cool upgrade
@@TysonHugie The oem front lip I love. The Mugen lip not so much.
Awesome story Tyson! Only you could have pulled off something like this, that means so much to your friends family. I would say more, but I'm a bit too emotional, especially since I lost my mom back in 2014 as well. Good vibes to you Tyson!!! And, thank you for sharing!
You bet, thank you for checking it out!
Good on you man!!
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
I hear Rick O Casick from the 80”s group: The Cars👍 playing in the body shop.
Good soundtrack for sure
Both Rick and Benjamin Orr of the The Cars are no longer with us which highlights just how short our time in this world really is. This is an awesome episode on Tyson's channel. Thanks for sharing, Tyson!
What a great thing to do! The car looks new except for the wear on the seat. Where did you buy the headlights?
Thank you. JPAuto.com $340.97 for the pair
Thanks! That seems like a decent price. One more question, do they require professional installation or is it possible to DIY?
I would love to have a tsx. Buy one for myself locally. But video creator's locale doesn't seem to have winter.
Would you guys trust a 15 year old car from Maine or upstate new york? (I'm afraid chassis is hard to inspect.) Generally, how old is too old in the rust belt?
Hopefully someone can comment on that, as you already noted, I don't live in an area with rust issues
Thanks!
