After all this time, how did you find the router? vs other brands lets say TP-Link. I just got an AX10 and turns out it does not have the repeater/extender mode and this was the other option, just wondering how good and reliable it was.
Heya I have used mine for almost 2 years. There are 100% better mesh systems out there but costs scale up. Unfortunately I am limited by which brands send me products to review and my availability. Some people have had issues with Xiaomi but I have honestly had none. I use 3 x ax3000s. I will probably keep the same setup until I change to WiFi 7
@@WootDini ok, but function-wise does it have good coverage?, I’m mostly interested in setting it up as a repeater/extender since I already have another one that covers most of the space, does it work well? updates firmware? Has the availability if I want to enable each band independently and a specific channel? Thank you very much for your reply, appreciated
@@lins1ris I would not buy to use as repeater. There are much cheaper alternatives to that. It's coverage is good but it's not ground breaking. I use 3 in 100 squares and it works well for me. If you are looking for control rather just use primary and extend. Just note that extenders are far less efficient than mesh
Hey Not sure where in video I said it has 160. But I only had the device for a short while. I have checked some links and it says it does but it seems it's more frequent in the ax3000
I have the ax3200 in the basement and the ax3000 2 pack on 2nd floor.. for some reason i can't connect them as a mesh through cable.. can only configure the ax3000 2 pack whilst the ax3200 works as a seperate unit, any ideas what i'm doing wrong?
Heya I did not check that in depth. Apologies. I don't have the unit anymore so cannot check. I understand why you ask as it's a very efficient channel. It's just this is meant to be a cost effective device so it will lack on fine calibration or setting
I wrote this on a forum, can u help me? So I have this router my isp provided. (Huawei HG8546M, the one im using) and an older (ASUS DSL-N10P) thats just in a closet unused. I found this router that I want to buy (Mi AX3200) but my current router uses Fiber Optic and i think that if I get a router that isn't fiber optic like the one I want to buy, it's going to make it have worse speeds and more complicated, Is this true or is it fine if I don't buy a fiber optic router? I live in Iran, and I want the router to have two SSIDs and have only one of the two SSIDs have a VPN on. (Preferably with OpenWRT, and Mi firmware is based on OpenWRT, at least for this model) Location: Iran Needs: Two SSIDs with only one of them having a VPN on (and OpenWRT) Budget: $50
Heya thanks for the detailed feedback So generally no router is a fiber router. The ONT is what provides the internet connection through its fiber (This is standard in my country South Africa). So if you have an ONT, pretty much any router will work including the AX3200. The AX3200 does put out 2 SSID's but you have to ensure you dont combine them. As for putting a VPN on one SSID alone with the AX3200, I never tried that so I cannot say whether its possible. Xiaomi is designed for general functionality. I found this article but it looks dangerous to try openwrt on this device forum.openwrt.org/t/adding-openwrt-support-for-xiaomi-redmi-router-ax6s-xiaomi-router-ax3200/111085/1897
@WootDini I think my router has a PON cable that comes from a white cube taped to the wall (Not sure I saw a similar picture of the cable going to my router and it was called a PON cable/port). Also I read the spec sheet for the router and apparently it's firmware is based on OpenWRT so I think it has the same features, but if there's a way to test openWRT and see if it works without risk (reverting back to the stock firmware if it fails), please inform me Also do most routers have a PON port or do I need an adapter? Thank you so much for helping me (Looking at the white box that is supposed to be the ONT, it seemingly only has a PON cable coming out and a weird hole with no ports in it)
just got my 2 peace of ra82 and cannot use lan cable for connecting them in to the main unite did not find the option to connect them wireless any idiea ?
Heya so you should be able to wireless mesh and backhaul as it is compatible. It's difficult for me to say because there are many many variables but it's best to contact the Xiaomi of the county you are in and demand support
@@WootDini Thank you very much for the answer, I managed first of all the Xiaomi application pain in the a$s, it is not possible to connect them and manage them in a simple way, the settings for connecting a new product to the Xiaomi home , I found that you scroll down a little, so there is an option to continue I thought the internet provider's equipment settings were limited and complicated. Heya. Hmm. I am not sure about failover. The only thing I could think is somehow getting a pocket router to ether. I don't have the device with me anymore so I can check if you can setup failover

For optimal range is it better to by an ax3200 and ax3000 or would you recommend two ax3000s?
I would say 2 x 3000 to be honest
Hello, does anyone know if i can setup the router to turn off wifi at night?

In the Mi app there should be a WiFi timer

Hey, So I would recommend updating your services to the newest firmware.
If you don't come right, I recommend reaching out to Xiaomi Directly.
Can i unplug it from ONT after finish all this?

I already have an ax3000 but am considering buying xiaomi ax3200. It's okay to use AX3200 as a secondary mesh?

You can but I do suggest having the 3200 as primary. You want more bandwidth on that

If not you can always use a little bit of black tape. Always works for me

No it does not :/ but you could possibly have a dongle as failover but I have not tested that
