Poland has been through hell and back in its history. We know what it's like to be attacked by an agressor, left alone by allies. It's our duty to help.
I saw short video where one of the Ukrainian soldier scream "bandera" from UPA true hero for some of them, they murdered Poles in past. History likes to repeat. Poles should help but under conditions. Volhynian slaughter - genocide perpetrated by Ukrainian nationalists with the active, frequent support of the local Ukrainian population against the Polish minority of the former Volyn voivodeship of the Second Polish Republic, during the occupation of the territory of the Second Polish Republic by the Third Reich, in the period from February 1943 to February 1945.

Yes - they are, but other EU countries should step in and offer major financial help to Poland. Instead EU just imposed on Poland fine of $63 Million because they want to topple conservative polish government and they want to replace it (again) with the government of Tusk who is German. I was in Poland many times, by car, mostly just to catch a ferry to Sweden. After you cross the Polish border, suddenly you are in a different world. No, not reach or poor, etc. People are different. Somehow you feel you can trust any of them. You are welcomed and surrounded by helping hands. And no war is required for them to open their hearts.
Nice to read this, but as a Pole I feel obliged to advice you, when in Poland please use common sense as always, there are scammers and scumbags here as in any other nation. They lurk among those good people and use trust they build to scam or steal. This is minority of course, but always be aware that they exist to make their scheming harder.

In 1940, Polish pilots heroically fought in the Battle of Britain ... now, out of their hearts, thousands of Poles provide shelter and help to Ukrainian refugees. This is what Poles are like! ♥️🇵🇱🇺🇦🇵🇱♥️

The history of the Second World War has shown how cruel nations can be towards each other. Poles experienced an unimaginable amount of evil from the Germans, Russians and the Ukrainians. It is impossible to forget about it, but now, at the hour of the next war, it is the Poles who extend a helping hand to the Ukrainian nation, welcome them to their homeland and support them as and with what they can. What’s more, Colombians are currently welcoming of Venezuelan refugees because Colombians remember 20-30 years ago, when Colombia was the worse economic condition and civil/drug war, that the Venezuelans welcomed fleeing Colombian refugees with open arms.
I watched the news about it in Polish TV in 2018 and later. It’s really sad what happened over there but Ukrainians now are dealing with the war criminal, supported by lunatics.

They murdered more than 100 thousands poles then, they were vicious and very sadistic cutting people a life in pieces. This was unimaginable horror. We forgave them, but we will never forget and we should not be blocked from accessing more mass graves as we were before.
Because Banderas' family was slaughtered when Poland invaded Ukraine between the wars. And killed thousands because they considered them subhuman. Eastern part of Poland was taken from Ukraine.
The Poles are a brave and generous people. And what a difference when it comes to refugees. The Ukrainian men stay and fight for their country, while the women and children are fleeing. From Afghanistan and Somalia for example, the young men fled leaving their families to be killed.
The military situation in Afghanistan or Somalia is different to the clear cut situation in Ukraine, where there is a clear aggressor and a clear victim. Civil wars are always very messy. And the men do not "leave their families to be killed", but rather, they take the dangerous and exhausting trip to a safe country upon themselves with the hope that they can bring their families there via plane after receiving asylum. If the flight is also life-threatening and very dangerous for women and children, then families have to make very harsh decisions. They might also not have enough money for all of them to go at once. You are judging people without knowing their situation.

Well said, I agree with everything you said. Polish people have shown their true colours many, many times in history. How they fought like lions alongside the allies, Polish pilots joined the RAF and proved themselves as fantastic brave and outstanding pilots. As an EU member Poland does not hesitate to send help if needed as they did in 2018 when Sweden suffered from devastating forest fires. Then Lukashenko/Putler tried to push illegal immigrants to cross the border from Belarus into Poland, but that did not work. Poland holds the border very strong. And now when the two criminal autocrats attack Ukraine, the Polish people do absolutely everything they can and much more to help the refugees! Polish people, I don´t think we ever will forget this. Love from Sweden.
Same thing happening in Hungary and Romania now, Entire nations pull together as a large team to help, but Poland receives the most refugees. (Slava Ukraina)

They will get our national registration number so called PESEL they will be able to stay here as long as they want, get a Job and even start a buisness. And even our national TV started to AIR children TV shows in Ukrainian language. As I said, it's not about Us.
We, Polish, went through so much over the centuries that war is the most horrible and scary thing that we can imagine. There is no Polish family that would not lost someone in nazi concentration camps or from Russian hands for decades of tyrant occupation after IIWW. No other country in Europe hates Russians as much as we do and as a nation, we will fight and defend anyone who flees from the old core, modern face dictatorship of cruelty, lies and lack of any respect for human life. Our Polish officers were lying in Ukrainian soil for decades waiting to be found and revenged and today we show what Polish nation thinks about occupants. Slava Ukraina! 🇺🇦 Bóg, Honor, Ojczyna! 🇵🇱
Greetings from Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. It is Poland's geographic misfortune to lie between two behemoths. If it isn't Germany then it is Russia who bully and disrespect your sovereignty. It is a fact that Poland lies within Russia's sphere of influence and the West can never fully help protect it. The West betrayed Poland in 1939 and 1945. Today you have NATO but Poland had Anglo-French military guarantees in 1939, but, like in 1945, it is not within the West's ability to deny Russia or German designs on Poland. Be wary of NATO and USA's promises of Article 5. Western leaders are sleazy and corrupt liars but are cleaver with rhetoric and semantics which when the crunch comes will prove hollow and empty. So, dear Poland, keep your powder dry and arm yourself to the teeth and don't depend on others. The democraps ruling America fight only "no-win" wars and Biden is a sad, sick, imbecile who doesn't know Christmas from Easter. The EU are weenies of the most treateous kind. Arm everyone with a Stinger and Javelin. And challenge Germany as an industrial giant.

I'm Polish. My godfather has a house, he took in a Ukrainian woman with a child. My flat is very cramped, I would have to put up a bunk bed to accommodate someone, so I transferred the money to the Ukrainian army. When the muscovites attacked, the first day I was in shock, the second day I cried, the third one I slept through the whole time because of stress (this is how I react, when there is a situation in which I cannot do anything, I want to sleep). Poland should prepare for war, because she will be another one and nobody will help us. I can see nobody helps Ukraine, the world was, is and will be like this. Money is all that matters. Some crappy sanctions, 5 helmets from Germany...and American propaganda: fight back, fight back! if need be America will defend you to the last Estonian and Pole! PROXY WAR
Poland is a NATO member. If Putin attacked Poland this would be world war III and Russia would fell within few days. It's completely different scenario. Of course Poland need to protect itself, but it already does. Do you know.about the convoy near Kiev? If it was in Poland this convoy would be destroyed within minutes. We have much better weapons. Russian army is in terrible condition. There is so much corruption there. The soldiers got food 20 years expired...just one example how corruption destroyed their army. All they have are those poor boys who doesn't even want to fight. Russia is no match for NATO.

No, it's not selfish at all! You should be proud of yourself and your nation because you show the whole world how to be a human. You prove that empathy is much more beautiful and stronger than other things (money, status, etc). We are all different: we have different nationalities, religions, appearance, goals - this list can be endless. But behind all these layers, we're still the same. As I write this, the Imagine Dragons song "Love" pops into my head. I suggest you to listen because it's what I'm talking about now. As a Ukrainian I feel hatred/disappointment and love/gratitude at the same time. Hatred/disappointment towards the Russians because so many of them still support and justify this disgusting war. At the same time, I feel love/gratitude towards all other people who are trying to help us in every way. And in this Poland holds a special place. 🇺🇦💓🇵🇱
I'm in Brazil, we're too far away to do the same, as people, but our government is giving refugee visas for Ukranians who might want them. There's a small ukranian comunity in Brazil already in the southern state of Parana. As a humam being, I'm so proud of the polish people. Thank You , Poland.
This is a great test of our humanity, which Poland passes it using empathy, values and great hearts. I am proud of my nation, others should follow an example. I myself transported four people personally and saw how terrified they were. I served in the war in 1997-1998 (then Yugoslavia, IFOR mission) and I did not think that such hell would break loose in Europe. Life is very perverse. I wish the Ukrainians a quick achievement of peace and no loss of life. Peace to all the people of the world. BR-Robert

I live in Hungary, and the Hungarians are welcoming the Ukrainians too. In fact, throughout this part of Europe (incl. Slovakia, Romania and Moldova) ordinary people are coming together to help the refugees. The people of Poland are doing the lion's share, but they are not alone. And we should not forget the poor people of Donbas! They too deserve peace, like everyone in Ukraine. ☮️ Praying for peace for Ukraine and the whole world.

I live in UK for a long time now and things are different here in terms of helping the refugees. British Home Office bureaucracy is ridiculous and not very helpful. Polish people have empathy because they experienced a lot throughout history. Proud to be polish, humans should help one another and the world will be a better place.
We helped the Ukrainians in 2003. After a year, they forgot about it. We helped them again in 2013 and 2014 ... They imposed a food export embargo on us in 2015. Nevertheless, we continued to help them ... and each year we were humiliated for it. Now we're helping again. We are an empathetic and sensitive nation. We do not turn our backs on the suffering. It is a pity that the Ukrainians will not remember any of it after a year or two. They will only constantly demand more, more concessions, and in return they will offer us more humiliations. The world will also forget about it and will still support Ukraine in all disputes with Poland. This is what saddens me the most.
All of that empathy the polish showed in the past years was heard breaking. The gays, the refugees all of the were touched by your Christian love and especially the fists and sticks and fences oh and the ability to enjoy the nature without amenities like blankets, food, water, shelter etc. . The world will never forget.
@@gregor8415 My russian friend, 1. There is no anti-gay law in Poland. There is in Russia. 2. It is not my fault that the Asian immigrants did not want to stay in Russia. They did not want to live in Russian poverty, in a xenophobic third world country. Blankets, food, sleeping bags ... The refugees were on your side of the border and you should provide them with such resources. Could Russia not even afford ordinary blankets? : P All immigrants who broke through to the Polish side received medical care. We later deported some of them to Iraq, for example. Russia is not the world. This is the end of the world. Nobody cares about the Russians' opinion.

At one point 1/3 of Poland declared itself a non Gay zone being openly homophobic. Protests and parades were attacked and stones thrown at them. Your second largest party as well as your religious leaders condem being gay and claim it's something made up by the west. Very progressive. Let's get back to the refugees. No one is talking about asian refugees. Since 2015 there were millions fleeing towards Europe from wars and famines. There'll be more soon because of the reduced output of wheat from Ukraine and Russia. Poland mostly refused to take in any reasonable amount of refugees. Even the tiny island of Malta took in more then the entirety of Poland did. Everyone here is praising Poland for what it does now and we are proud that you do finally step up. But don't claim you deserve the nobel piece prize or that your hospitable, empathetic and always willing to help those in need when it simply isn't true. Don't be so pessimistic, I'm quite convinced that many neighbours of Poland have a lot of respect and admiration for the Polish people.. As do they for their neighbours.
That's how a real pole sees the world around him. Not as humans, not as European friends but rather as enemies waiting to... Give Poland back more money then they put into the eu budget. Actually, there is something quite similar: Colombians’ welcome of Venezuelan refugees.
What’s more, Colombians are currently welcoming of Venezuelan refugees because Colombians remember 20-30 years ago, when Colombia was the worse economic condition and civil/drug war, that the Venezuelans welcomed fleeing Colombian refugees with open arms.
Stay safe out there dear Latinoamericanos. Humanity is universal. War is horrible wherever it occurs. Abrazos de Polonia

I forgot to add that about 20% of all Venezuelans now have left the country and most are refugees in Colombia, Brazil and other countries.

Poles have many flaws, and from a historical perspective also have many scoundrels and dirty doings or even war crimes. They are non angels! Simply. But one thing is certain, they stand out among their historical neighbors in one aspect - they have never been racists, hardly susceptible to extreme ideologies, have never committed acts of genocide or ethnic cleansing.
You hope that things are changing... Are other EU countries helping Poland to finance influx of the "refugees". Or it is still Poland alone?

Foreign students from Ukraine maybe waiting longer since they are mostly healthy, single male while between Ukrainians are mostly children, elderly and women, but there was no mention of that.
True. Women, Mothers with children first. That's normal rule in Polish society.

@@juliaforsyth8332 Not exactly. It's more nuanced.

Talking about the facts and historical truth hasn't become SUDDENLY now uncomfortable for politics or haters in that painful history. It has always been uncomfortable. There has been a conspiracy of silence for a long time covering the genocide that Ukrainian chauvinists committed on defenseless Polish people during the Second World War.
Currently, the topic is depreciated as "Russian propaganda" because that's how Ukrainian propaganda show it from many years vide: Volodymyr Viatrovych)
After 2014, there was a war between the monuments of Bandera and Lenin in Ukraine. But from the Polish perspective, it has a completely different dimension. Both monuments are monuments to malefactors.

It is now that the Poles have shown that there are no best friends for Ukrainians than they are. And even more - Ukrainians and Poles are very kindred nations!
It's the Ukrainians turn now who should show goodwill: stop lying and reject sadistic murderers as their false heroes.
And you know what the Poles want? That the bones of the victims were allowed to be buried, the bones of the victims on which the monuments of their murderers almost literally stand in Ukraine. Until that happens there is no "closure to the past"

@@kris2455 I don't believe in NATO military help. Simply. And thank you for your kind words about polish army, bro :-) What is your nationality? (if I'm allowed to ask)
@@kris2455 It's very difficult for me to believe in such a weakness of federation army. Is'nt it a sabotage?
I have never feel so proud of beeing Pole as now I'm.
I know thats maybe selfish regarding current situation.... but thats what I feel.
Thank You for all kind words to Polish people!
BR-Robert
Poland doing Polish things as allwas, nothings change
Hear hear respect for poland ! Iv always fought and protected polish nationals! Especially 25years ago in the uk! Which it was hard for them during that time ! I was happy to be apart off their story! Great people! As a Muslim I love it wen they go to church and keep their family values! Great pride very good workers , very educated people! I love the polish people! That I ended up buying a place in Kraków I’m flying this Sunday joining my friend to hopefully pick Ukrainian up drive them to their temporary place’s 👍🙏🙏
Nice one mate.. It's brave of you as a Muslim to say that, only the more educated in Poland will feel your authenticity. Be well!
Greetings from Romania, and God bless Poland.
😀🙏💪
Thank you Poland!!
You're generosity and support of the refugees is beyond amazing.
💙💛🌾🌻
Courage for all of us.
These horrible days will end.🕊️
Poland.I read and watch your history during ww2 and my heart is with your country as well
THANK YOU POLAND FOR YOUR KINDNESS!!
Hungary is always in our's hearts. Greetings Brother.
Yes. We remember. There is a lot of talk in the media about Hungary.
Thank You, Lord, for every Polish soul, every open heart! So much love is witnessed at this time!
Thank you, POLAND! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I am in the USA and I want you to know that I have recognized and very greatly admired the reaction of the Polish people to help the Ukrainian people in their time of need.
Someone said this legendary and I agree ! I salute and highly honor the people of Poland.
Be Well, DZ
Thank you and God bless you for telling the truth about Poland!
In 2 months I'll visit the USA for the first time.
For vacation.
I'm from Northern Poland.
I was 4 times on the border and we went to Gdańsk with over 20 refugees.
About 650 km in one direction.
I don't know how the reactions of the US-Citizens will look like but I know one thing for sure.
I'll go there as a proud Polish Citizen.
Chwała Bohaterom.
I tym historycznym, i dzisiejszym.

I live I England 14 years and my heart ❤ biting for Poland but I also have a amazing relationship with fantastic English people who donate to charity for Ukraina.

Nah, at this point we are just hoplessly stupid.
All of that empathy the polish showed in the past years was heard breaking. The gays, the refugees all of the were touched by your Christian love and especially the fists and sticks and fences oh and the ability to enjoy the nature without amenities like blankets, food, water, shelter etc. . The world will never forget.
@@gregor8415 My russian friend,
All immigrants who broke through to the Polish side received medical care. We later deported some of them to Iraq, for example.
Russia is not the world. This is the end of the world. Nobody cares about the Russians' opinion.
@@piotrd.4850 True... :(
@@MarekKrassus53 you know what's funny? Everything you wrote down to put me off was wrong. I've never said that I'm from Russia 😂. Thanks for making that up as an excuse.
"Oh look, we are better than Russia. We can't be bad people." You are part of the fucking EU my friend. There are higher standards that apply to you.
You shall not be judged by how you treat your family friends and neighbors but how you treat actual strangers.
Bless the fantastic & beautiful people of Poland!
Well, I can assure you we poles know that we are surrounded by enemies and we have no friends. So we try to help as good as we can but as always others will try to take the credit. Ukraine suffers greatly and we hope they will prevail! 🇵🇱🤝🇺🇦!
Waiting to employ the polish people. Waiting to buy their products.... Ah you are so right... Those evil evil foreigners...
....just yesterday ,Thursday, European Union voted against ( blocked money) to Poland!!!!! Unbelievable!!!! That's shows how european people are grateful to the polish people!!!!
As a Pole I can say, that they did a good thing. They're trying to prevent democracy backsliding here in Poland. Main polish party is trying to gather as much power as possible in sneaky way. This blocked money is a sanction for those actions.
@@JohnDoe-ws3rv you are wrong, sorry!! What democracy ? Because they don't like polish conservative government which has been elected . !! This is the truth!!!
@@JohnDoe-ws3rv Who the heck EU is to decide about the democracy in Poland and judge us on the basis of what/who - some left-wing parties?! We're an independent nation and the government was elected in a democratic way either you or they like it or not!
