hey, glad you liked it, it's high praise when someone would pay for it :) send us a pm from my email on my channel about page and I will sort you out ;)
Thanks for your fast response I’ve had a heat belt round it so it’s been kept at a constant temp it is still fizzing Shall I leave it or shall I put the finnings in ? I’m lost
not a problem :) i know what it like getting started and not knowing. your brews are fine and doing well ( just so you know) As this is one of your early brews my personal advise is to skip adding finnings for a bit until you have a feel for it. it will clear it's self once it finishes fermenting. :)
People think wine will come out rougher than cheap supermarket wines, if they make it themselves, but I found the opposite to be the case. My own wine is very palatable, but I have had wines from places like Aldi that taste like absolute trash, I mean... vinegar, it's just terrible. My own wine not only comes out a lot stronger (18%+) but it's also 4 or 5 times cheaper too!
it takes about a month from start to finish, you can use heat belts and chemical finnings to speed up the process to about 3 weeks ( 2 weeks if you are experienced) but pushing the yeast always seems to have a far greater chance of funky tasting wines, in my experience.
hey, sorry for the later reply. unfortunately it's been manic at my work. the joys of needing to making a living :P well i'm glad you liked the videos and it's given you the idea on trying to use green tea. personally i think it will be really good but you will have to let me know how it turned :) cheers
hey, if you want to you could but it won't be anywhere as tasty and you would have to reduce the sugar by half to make sure it fermented, other than that sure :P
Strawberry plants are doing well, no fruit yet and In a few short months im gonna have a tonne of apples, do you know of wild and cheap recipe for apple wine (not cider) also got plenty herbs growing too
hey, yea everything is running behind this year, which is annoying! I do know a good simple recipe for an apple wine. per gallon roughly 3kg apples chopped (some with a bit of brown are ok) white grape concentrate 2 liter the juice and rind of 1 lemon sugar to adjust to your preferred abv yeast nutes yeast method: cut apples add to pan add water and lemon peel and boil for 10ish minutes ( should look like watery apple sauce) strain and add sugar and lemon juice and grape. yeast! of course you can add pectolase, swap out the grape juice for wine making grape concentrate and switch out the lemon for an acid blend. you end up with a light apple wine. it takes about 3-6 months of aging or you can back sweeten to have it sooner. :)
hey, I did not use a conventional air lock but it is an air lock The cap acts as one using positive pressure from fermentation to stop things from getting in, the cap is placed on top the very slightly turned. the gas pushes the lid up and once it finishes the lid stays down. hope this answer's you question :)
i'm presuming it's the tea wine. indeed it's good to drink now, their will be a slight haze to it as there was no pectolase added. but the flavor is good
I love your videos why didnt you knock the green parts off the berrys? Wont that introduce bitterness? I did loquats with hulls in them and that sucked, next batch no hulls and that shit rocked. keep up the good work Kimosabe. -pawPaw
hey, it's a good question :) the green bits will add a bitterness if left too long or if you brew on the pulp. strawberry greens as i like to call them are not as bitter as alot of other things and since i knew i was back sweetening it after I just left them in. the wine went really quickly so i guess it worked out :) . I now take the extra time to remove all the greens and only brew on the pulp in a bucket. it beats and steeped wine method for color and flavor every time :) cheers
I made a cola and an irn bru wine, not quite koolade but they are all soft drinks. they are not bad. they taste like alcoholic versions of the originals. they are for quick drinking as aging makes them taste like garbage.
hey, they both stopped at the same time, interesting. Either they are done which isn't unheard of if they are kept warm or more likely they are a little cold and the fermentation has slowed. pour a little in to the glass and give it a taste, if it's sweet put it somewhere warmer and if it's dry leave it and it will clear on its own :)
I'ld like to begin by saying I really like your videos. You bring winemaking from the secret lab, into a regular Joe's kitchen. I got a wine kit couple yrs back, it has not seen light of day since I put it into its storage. I want to attempt a jam wine. I have about a gallon of home canned jam (my mom rotating stock). Any tips other than your jam video? Thanks so much
hey, thanks :) you have explained my channels purpose exactly :D jam wine is a good one as it's so cheap and easy compared to using actual fruit and homemade jam makes makes a good wine. if your just starting again I would suggest making a apple juice cider or sugar wine, from that you can make alot of different things, if you flavor it with boiled sweets and add maltic or citric acid you get sour shots or just mix it with cola for a vodkaish drink. its great for experimenting with and really straight forward. Its pretty much an endless list if things to try. The best tip i can give for anyone starting is to sterilize like your life depended on it. :) hope you catch you in other videos and let us know how your wine turned out.
Clean T-shirt was a great idea it provided an exquisite flavour body and acidity to the wine product delicious Thank you!
Hi, great video - but how much of the yeast did you add please?
The standard amount is 1g of wine yeast per gallon. Once you have a handle on keeping everything sterile you can use less
Rosepetals would be a good mix with strawberry. 😍
GREAT VIDEO, THX!WATCHED SEVERAL STRAWBERRY WINE VIDS,SOMEHOW I KNEW THERE WAS A FAR LESS COMPLICATED METHOD....THANKS AGAIN....
i'm glad you found it helpful :) it's some times best to keep it simple that way there's less to go wrong
had the pleasure of tasting this and it was absolutely divine. would definitely purchase more if your interested in selling.

Do I just leave it ?
Do I keep the heat on?
Do I leave it till it clears then at the sweetener
hey, indeed just leave it alone and keep the heat on.
once it clears remove the cleared wine and then add the sweetener . job done :)
Could I ask where do you keep the wines for a month in the house ?
Desperately want to make some wine ... you make it look so easy .... x

I didnt see any pop up showing how you sterilize your things ? Also how water did you have to add to the strawberries altogether please ?
You’re a star thanks from up north
no problem :) let us know how you get on. strawberry season is coming up so i will be making another batch :D
How
Long do you usually leave it? Does it ferment faster without the pulp? Or does that not matter?
it takes about a month from start to finish, you can use heat belts and chemical finnings to speed up the process to about 3 weeks ( 2 weeks if you are experienced) but pushing the yeast always seems to have a far greater chance of funky tasting wines, in my experience.
Thanks for the video this one and the tea one I will defiantly try with one little change I'm using green tea I'm hopping that it will turn out

Just started a strawberry and blueberry wine
I was just wondering how long do you leave it to ferment for
hey 4 weeks or until it turns clear again
making homebrew wild and cheap I didn’t have pectolase Though
@@raymondstoner5555 lol, well it will be a little hazy but it will still be clear :P
making homebrew wild and cheap ok thank u very much
making homebrew wild and cheap I have made a parsnip and raisin wine as well
At what point did you add the packet of yeast?
at the end of the video
can you use baking yeast to make this?
hey, if you want to you could but it won't be anywhere as tasty and you would have to reduce the sugar by half to make sure it fermented, other than that sure :P

making homebrew wild and cheap , learning so much. Thanks

You did not use an airlock, how does the gas go out?

It’s been in the bottle for 4 weeks but still cloudy will be ok to drink?
i'm presuming it's the tea wine. indeed it's good to drink now, their will be a slight haze to it as there was no pectolase added. but the flavor is good
Nice one L. Thanks for sharing. :o)
hey, :P I'm sure a cheeky bottle may end up your way, strawberry trifle may be interesting.

Ever make any koolade wine? I heard of it what is your opinion?
I made a cola and an irn bru wine, not quite koolade but they are all soft drinks. they are not bad. they taste like alcoholic versions of the originals. they are for quick drinking as aging makes them taste like garbage.
I did it with a sweaty tee shirt. My wife liked it, but my friends did not! xD
the sweat add a certain musk that is both light and repulsive :D
As long as you liked it, that's all that really matters
The strawberry wine is delicious and clear
The tea wine is still very cloudy will it clear in time?
hey, glad you like them :) indeed the tea wine will clear up :) it usually takes an extra week or 2.
Hi there my strawberry wine and tea wine have stopped bubbling after 7 days what do I do?!
Please help

Linda Strubbe lol
@@sodone4480 that also made me laugh
Did you add any water at the beginning? Or is it just strawberries?
yes a little water was added. it just makes it easier :)

I used a pair of me mums leggins to filter it lol she has no idea. (They were clean of course)
Did she notice yet

lol, when i saw your comment while i was in work it brought me a chuckle, not sure why though. :)
I got some rotten strawberry wine workin right now. Bought a clamshell marked down .
can't knock over ripe strawberries, they make some of the best tasting wine and cheap, which is always good :)
my rotten strawberry wine had green shit floating it , tasted like shit/fail tossed it.
That's bad luck, never good when a brew doesn't turn out. Green stuff floating is a bad sign
looked like mold, musta not did my sanitizations correct.....gotta work on that
It does happen to the best of us from time to time. I guess it's all a learning experience and what not to do next time :)
Don't yiu bother using airlocks
Your filter looks like a dirty shirt but great vid
Lol, its coffee stained, but sterile :) that's what counts :p
