I get asked a lot about which Pipe bevelers do you need to buy? Does the pipe welding company provide bevelers? Which Size Pipe bevelers do I need? How do I use them? Which Brand of Pipe Bevelers do you recommend and are they really worth the money? So Lets get into the questions. Pipe Bevelers I would have to say in my own personal experiance as a pipeline and mobile rig welder are almost as important as your welding machine. Of course you will need to buy a welder first because what is the point if a bunch of beveled coupons if you cant weld them together. but after you have paid for the welding machine your next task should be purchasing beveling machines. Mathey Dearman is my chosen and go to brand. They are the ones I see the most in the field and the ones my two brothers and me all carry. Now lets get into does the welding company oil company or contracter that you hire out under supply beveling machines? on every job I have ever been on the welder is required to have a beveler for everything from 2"-8" on some job even a 6"-12" is required. Test day is a big one. on most tests there will be a 12" piece of pipe somewhere that will be a coupon. If you can pull out a 12" beveling machine the inspectors see it and it just adds credit to yourself. So I always carry a 12". in this episode we are going to be doing an unboxing on a Mathey Dearman 6"-12" Pipe beveling machine. We will show you all the pieces that come in the box and how to set it up. Thank you everyone that has subscribed to us and if you havnt we hope you hit the subscribe button. Be Blessed.
Who Are We? my name is Jake Schofield i am the owner of schofield welding LLC and we are happy to bring you youtube videos that are focused around God, the welding industry, being a rig welder, Family, Our great Country and Money. I am 29 years old and have been on the road chasing oil and gas work since i was 19 years old. I started as a welder helper in Fort worth Texas, Later went to one semester of welding school back home in Idaho and decided that being a welder helper was more my calling. So I went back to work as a helper in Wyoming. after that I was able to earn enough money to start buying my welding equipment starting with an old red face SA 200 after about a year of being a helper I finally broke out on a job in Greeley CO. I started on the pipelines and continued pipelining for 4 years and later transitioned into the fabrication side of building Facilities and gathering systems for the oil and gas. I have been through 2 down falls in oil prices the first time was a huge shock the sec Time we where ready. If you want to be ready for when times get hard be sure to tune into our money Monday episodes where I go through tactics and tricks to stay financially stable and how to find work during hard times. Throw lessons and mistakes ive made, I talk about them openly to try and help you guys avoid them. While I write this we are in another slump with oil prices and we havn't skipped a beat. We are still making money and doing whatever it takes to keep going. I have a beautiful wife Eliza who is a team player and travels with me in our 39 foot fifth wheel with our son Baylin who was born on the road in Brighton Colorado while we where on a job. We are full time RV livers. We use our fifth wheel to travel from job to job so that we can keep the family togehter and with me. I was very lucky in the fact that Elizas Dad my father in law also is a rig welder so she grew up this way. We hope this channel benifits you and we appreciate your support be blessed.
