    I rode to Elfin Lakes about 20 years ago all the way from town. Back then the trail was barely even a hiking trail…and I rode it on a hard tail without even front shocks. The climb was exhausting and the ripping descent without shocks was even more brutal…but the scene at the top was all worth it!!! Brings back memories!

      @ericcartmansstrengthandpow5960 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Oh yeah? Well I did it 40 years ago. That's 20 whole years before you did it. Not only did I do it on a fully rigid, but I was riding a penny-farthing. I also didn't even take a water bottle with me. And those trails you said that were barely even trails when you did it? Yeah, they didn't even exist when I set out on my adventure, I had to build the trail as I went. I'd build 100 ft. of trail, hike back, hop on my penny-farthing, and ride what I had just built. Rinse and repeat the whole way out. Also when I did it, it was uphill in both directions, AND it was in the dead of winter so I was biking through roughly 4 ft. of snow. Yeah I'd say my ride was a bit more impressive than yours. Still feel special now, brah?

    I'm kind of surprised you didn't tale the singletrack climb up to the Elfin Lakes parking lot. I'm even more surprised you didn't take any of the singletrack options from just below the parking lot! Meadow of the Grizzly is a cool blue flow, but there's a number of harder options if you're so inclined. Incredible area! And super impressive you climbed all the way from the bottom, and in 2 hours! I think it took me that much from parking lot to the lakes haha.
    EDIT. The section labelled "rant" lol

    • @DaleStone

    • @lynxg4641

      For the rear I'd be more inclined to go with a 2.4 Rekon Race over the Ikon, or the Forekaster to better pair traction wise to the front - used to Run DHF 2.3" F/FK 2.3" rear, very well balanced, agro XC combo.
      I'll give ya the Ikon casings aren't the burliest in just EXO, but then again, it really is an XC tyre. Would love to see the FK get 3C MaxxTerra compound and EXO+ in the 2.35" option instead of the just the 2.6".
