Episode two continues to showcase the work that the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and its breeding and rehabilitation station does for elephants. We visit two unique locations in Kenya and conclude with stories of the breeding, release, and conservation efforts this trust and its temporary family of elephants.
@@biokosmos In some parts of Africa they are coming back! Check African Parks org. They are looking after 20 parks now and in those parks there is ZERO poaching. Rangers are armed to the teeth, there are patrols and community engagements, and fences. They re wild those places and that includes transporting eles from one Park to another....numbers are slowly coming up....but not everywhere....
Tsavo north is not a safe place once. But now, the reward is seeing so many elephants in the wild have come back. I hope the authority of Kenya continue their patrol to protect the elephants.
The fact they won’t recover is guaranteed if poaching isn’t completely wiped from the earth. It’s already pretty iffy that they will bounce back, I think.
They mentioned there is an anti poaching unit in Tsavo North. There are other units within other national parks. The Kenya Wildlife Society officers also provide medical assistance when needed to the animals. You can see some of their work on Dave Mani youtube channel.
This video makes me feel so happy inside! Happy tears!!😂💗🤗These little elephants are so lucky. Thankyou to these amazing human beings!!! God bless you all! What would these elephants do without you!🐘❤
David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust takes all their orphans so well comparing to the elephants in Asia. I have watched part 1 and part 2 numerous times because it makes me so happy to see them living well and happy.
Thank you to all that made this documentary. Sheldrick’s needs the wonderful publicity. The more people that know about them the more $ will be donated. Taking care of these babies from rescue to the age of 10-13 when they return to the wild is an enormously huge expense and the only way the get $ is from us. So please donate whatever you can. Even $5 or $10 will feed a couple of babies a bottle! That milk is expensive you know because they have to add supplements and coconut oil to it.
I just started watching and already very emotional. I have loved elephants since I was a little girl and I am almost 70. My first tattoo is a mother elephant and her baby, in honor of my 18 year old son who passed away. They touch my soul for sure.
Thank-you soooo much- this is wonderful from start to finish. The elephants are so precious and all of the helpers. The head of the caretakers is such a very kind and gracious man- the whole documentary is magnificent and I feel profound gratitude for all they are doing.
What a tremendous job these Elephant carers do! Just amazing and they are so good at what they do and understand the whole psychi of the Elephant. Just blows me away and I am so grateful to them and the lady in charge and the whole Trust for doing this. I hope others will join me in donating to them through their website, so they can continue the work.
So to love an elephant to let him/her go to the wild is true love. So Dame Daphe has to keep diff keepers shifting for the elephants sake also. They can die from a broken heart & missing the bond with just ONE keeper would hurt too much. Dont know how keepers let them go, especially when u find that true bond. Is this why only males r keepers bc they know it is best for the elephant to be free?
@@spicyirwin5835 i think it mostly men because of two reasons. The men have more muscle mass to deal with these powerful animals - they can be dangerous even when just being playful and i think their indigenous society prohibits women from having these kinds of jobs although there are some women there in this kind of work. And yes, the men might be more psychologically equipped to actually let the elephants eventually go - although women also want their "children" to succeed in life without them. I know that is my wish for my children - to succeed without needing me.
I have been following Sheldrick for quite awhile now..:-) I adopted 4 babies (2 girls and 2 boys - going for a fifth soon!) and donate to their water projects regularly....WATER IS EVERYTHING ....Dame Daphne passed away in 2018 - huge huge lose...Her daughter, Angela is now in charge....xoxox
This was such a blessing to witness!!!! Man has not been kind to this majestic breed for many, many years… nearly wiping them out due to their greed. I'm so thankful for the work all of you angels have done and are still doing to bring back the population of one of Gods greatest and sweetest animals….. Elephants🐘
I watch the Instagram clips of Sheldrick Orphans. I love that a wild male joined Jatta. The wild older males needing water is a bonus. This documentary is a real find. Thank you. 🙏🕊🌹💞
So worried with global warming they might not be able to find water. Heard certain parts of Africa has not only famine but ppl r dying of thirst also. Elephants r smarter than humans but if patriarchs r dead then history of finding water died also! So wish humans could be loving as elephants r! Thought huge male was looking for some action, not water. Around too many tomcats. Wonder if lack of water is why calf was abandoned like that? Spunky calf!🐘💜🐘
Thank you so much for the beautiful story of how these orphans are lovingly cared for and successfully returned to the wild. God bless all of you that are involved in this. 💜🐘💜
Wonderful! The ending almost brought me to tears to see the wild elephants and the orphans all going to a place where they will now be safe. They are all so beautiful that it is hard to believe that poachers would just about make them extinct. This is a wonderful video. Thank you. The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is most certainly successful. Thank you to all the Carers that do such a great job.
It is a wonderful documentary showing how the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust are bringing back Elephants to the area that was once empty because of the cruel Murder of Elephants but thanks to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and the Kenyan Wildlife Service they are back.
I enjoyed the documentary very much. I follow a few other elephant rescue herds as well, and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has it all: breeding, rehab and release. The ellie carers of all the groups are just so dedicated and really love their elephant families. they are to be commended for their hard work delivered so kindly everyday, I am so happy to see the elephant population slowly coming back to this area of Africa, where once poaching was happening. Now those dominant bulls will spread the word to their wild families to come, it is now safe to come back!!
The sheltrick trust does not breed elephants. They rescue babies orphaned by poaching and human wildlife conflict, raise them and return them to the wild.
Absolutely stunning camera work for this documentary for the beautiful Elephants! Great project Great success! God Bless the keepers and the elephants!
Elephants found their way back to their nursery with no GPS. Have a friend with no sense of direction, like my mom didnt have. Quite a walk also. Pls God protect them from poachers!🐘🙏💜
I think Yatta was introducing her future mate to the keeper. May also be why the other 4 mature bulls showed up. Usually they win out over younger bulls, but in this case she may have already made her selection.
Yes! My thoughts exactly. BUT there are other young females....never fear! New generations are coming! Great, healthy gen pool! AND they are tuskers!...AND protected in Tsavo...There is hope for better tomorrow for sure......xoxoxox
I feel so happy seeing the elegant gathering back and greeting each other i must say thank to the founder and those men you can see the love 💘 they have for those Elephant well done 👏 😀
Absolutely beautiful wonderful & healing watch these magical magnificent gentle giants. Thank you for this amazing documentary!!! I appreciate all the love dedication of the trainers staff & care givers your gift to humanity & the amazing animal kingdom.🐘💗🐘
I agree with you on all counts. The trainers and rangers and generally everyone who devotes their life to helping animals have my respect and I think they’re awesome.

Was there in September 2022 with our Guests and what an amazing experience from the staff and the ellies. My favorite moment was with elephant Kauro who remembered me from our first encounter at David Sheldrick several years ago
Thank you so much for what you are doing to save our elephants. They are a magnificent animal and poachers when caught should spend the rest of their lives in prison. I love going to the zoo and seeing these animals
Beautiful, excellent, amazing, awesome, gorgeous, awesome, exquisite, thumbs up 100 percent these beautiful documentaries on our beautiful animals. Thank you so much best documentaries than any other. God bless you all.
Amazing elephant happy story!! Loved it to the core!! Thank you for providing such great care to orphan and ex orphan as well as wild elephants who joined the happy elephant family! 💖
Amazing story of North Tsavo coming back to live with wild eles thanks to orphans moving there...Never knew that! It is such a beautiful place and so huge! IF well protected it will be a paradise or lost Eden re discovered.....THANK YOU!! xoxoxox
The documentary is great and the work to rehabilitar the orphan elefants is incredible. But if they do not control the poarchers they just are given them more elephats to kill.
These guys’ jobs is to care for the animals. They can’t really be patrolling for poachers too but I get your point. I’m sure they work together with rangers who do keep an eye out for poaching.
There is need to reduce poaching which is decreasing since the shoot to kill order where the rangers are fatally shooting poachers but there is also drought that is responsible for more orphans
I too agree that the poachers need MUCH tougher penalties! I understand life is incredibly hard for the people who have to try to survive on nothing, and it must be tempting to try to get some money from the elephants tusks. It’s hellishly hard to watch your children go hungry, for anyone, but the price is just too high. Besides, I think most poachers are professional murderers, not starving villagers. We need elephants in our world, our children need to be able to experience these magnificent animals too! The best way to deal with poachers is for absolutely no one to buy, use or sell ANYTHING with ivory in it!
Thank you for saving the elephants. Amazing creatures. To think mad scientists say animals have no true emotions just instinct is totally bogus, like the scienceTISM lately.
Fantastic news that the wild ones are coming back. Juvenile males without adult bulls to mentor and teach them how to behave can wreak havoc and they also go into musthe too early. When they were showing Korah (sp) sparring with the other young orphan bull, he shouldn’t be that aggressive at his age. If adult bulls were around, they would temper this behavior and their mere presence would stop young bulls from going into early musthe.
This was a fantastic documentary! It was also lovely to see a case where the expert in the field is someone who is actually from the region, not a random white American

Amazing place, amazing people, awesome elephants 😏👍
Happy to see the orphan elephant babies returning to the wild, and socializing with other elephants.
So many people are unaware of just how similar elephants are to humans. Their intelligence and ability to show compassion is astounding.
My unpopular opinion: I think they may be smarter than humans. 🤷🏽♀
