My perfect cruise line. Crew speaks English, adults only cruises, no formal wear required, don't have to pay a "suppliment" to sail as a solo traveler, small/medium sized ship.
We cruised with Hurtigruten a while back and my wife had a swollen ankle. As they have no doctor on board we were dropped at a medical point "somewhere" in Norway who decided my wife needed a hospital. I had to pay for a taxi to take us there, about an hours drive and then my wife was quarantined for a week for some reason. I then had to find my own way home to the UK which involved 3 flights. We'll NEVER cruise with Hurtigruten ever again. We've since had wonderful experiences with P&O and Royal Caribbean so it hasn't deterred us from cruising.
Hi Emma! I startet cruising 10 years ago with Costa and I am still very very happy with them. It's the food, the entertainment, the italian style and it's their price schedule: I always travel alone and Costa charges less than all the other companies (as far as I know) for single occupation. That makes Balcony Cabins affordable to me! :-) Thanks for your videos, cheers from Austria!
I love this one so much., learning a bit about so many different cruise lines. I could not help saying to myself, " I want to try that one...and that one... and..." What a great video!
Wow what an amazing amount of information! I did not fully appreciate how many cruise companies there are out there! We recently cruised from New York to Bermuda and the West Indies on Viking Sea and had a great time. Love your videos Emma! 🥳
Hi Emma, Just checked out your TH-cam channel. Awesome! I've never been on a cruise and eventually would like to. Your channel is perfect. Great info, sooooo informative, excellent energy, amazing video presence. Love what you are doing. Keep up the great work!
@3:40 The Bahamas private island, Half Moon Cay, is shared with other lines in Carnival group. Probably the one in Belize too. I've been there on a Carnival cruise. It's nice, but nothing particularly special.
I still really want to do the 14 night trans atlantic cruise on the Queen Mary 2...I'm one of the weirdo's that prefer sea days lol Next one I'll go on will probably be a short one on the Iona though...whenever that will be
Young lady I have watched many of your videos. Just based on the number of comments I would say you are on the right track. Keep up the good work. Your fan
I live in South Australia and want to go on cruises desperately I have no idea what to do, though I am still so damn glad i found your content. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!
The information you provide is always relevant and helpful , presented in an informal yet professional manner. I would however like to see you cruising on some smaller ships. Keep up the excellent work. I was one of many passengers who had their cruise cut short because of the pandemic.
@@EmmaCruises Not always. They tend to be older ships without all the modern gimics and not always more expensive. Carry on the good work. happy new year.
Immediately added this to my travel playlist! So many good tips, as well as embedded videos and planning tools. Thanks! I'd totally do a "Mystery" Cruise, by the way.
I was hoping you would include some cruise lines whose largest ship carries fewer than 200 passengers, because those are the ones we're interested it. We've found a couple we like, in addition to river cruises, including the Uncruise Line and Tauck/Ponant, and would love to hear about others.
So informative video, great summary of all the lovely cruise lines. I have visited Harvest Caye, one of NCL's private islands and it was great. However, a sea day is almost as nice, since the food and drink on the island are not included. But overall, the private islands are fabulous!
YEY P24! I am not part of the course but I follow the Income School channel. I love Jim and Ricky! I have a fitness blog that I am building at the moment.
Incredible data! I've never cruised, but your confident delivery and common sense advice makes me want to give it a whirl! How many cruises do you take a year?
NCL is my one and only favorite. You can be busy from daybreak to midnight or you can just relax and do nothing. I tend to go when kids are in school to avoid the screeching and noise of children and teenagers. I am 64 with no children. Like piece and quite. Plus I get treated like a king when I cruise. When you book a Suite that’s what you expect. And they deliver. Roger in Pierre South Dakota
You forgot to mention that AIDA is fully owned by Carnival. ...so if you dont speak German, you can book with Carnival. This is what travel agents do here in the UK (system: Amadeus) when they book UK people onto AIDA cruises.
You can book AIDA cruises through carnival? I didn’t know that was a thing?? Really? That’s amazing?! I’ve got friends who have struggled so much booking AIDA…
thanks ...funny..after seeing some other general vids you did..i come across this one just when i needed/ wanted to know.. there are just so many choices after you think of a destination... I thought deciding to go was the big issue i finally solved..hihi..nope.. a quick comparison list was really helpful.
Now this is/was an excellent video! Taking away so many tips and a lot of new info I didn't know. Think I'll be watching it again at some point. Thanks! 🚢😀
Wow excellent. Or as you say Brilliant. What a great intro to all the popular cruise lines. I'm going to expand my horizons with a European cruise. Now which one? On to your other videos. Wish me luck.
i would argue the first thing to decide is where you want to go, what activities you enjoy, which method of travel makes best sense to reach your destinations, and for your budget, please check geography. greek islands like santorini, polynesia, hawaii, caribbean make sense to travel by ocean cruise as do barcelona, naples, athens, venice, klaipeda, riga, tallinn, oslo, stockholm, amsterdam, dublin, edinburgh, glasgow, st petersburg.... river cruises can reach vienna, budapest danube, wuerzburg nuernberg main river, elbe river for prague dresden wittenberg, for many places land tours bus or train are the only option for madrid leipzig munich ; milan seville cordoba figueres granada florence vatican rome paris london berlin are available only by excursion or very long bus or train rides, so land tours make more sense. disney is for children families, very expensive.
Going next week on Carnival Spirit from Melbourne. Believe they are also basing Carnival Splendor in Australia. November this year am sailing on Queen Elizabeth out of Melbourne. On my bucket list is QM2 across the Atlantic and going to UK and cruising with Fred Olsen.
That's definitely a bucket list trip for me too. If I was going to do a transatlantic I'd want to do it in style haha. I'm not sure about Fred Olsen for me personally but I'd give anything a go once! 😁♥️
Hi Emma, I am surprised you did not list Viking Ocean Cruises in your list? I know you did reviews on the Viking Sea. Do you consider it a Luxury Cruise Line?
Great job with this. I actually prefer Carnival over Royal Caribbean since I'm more into casual "Fun" than RC's "Wow" ships, and in my experience the food has been better on Carnival, especially at lunch with so many free options (Guy's Burger Joint, etc.) I've also found the staff on Carnival to be better in general, and they seem to enjoy themselves a bit more; witness "towel animal morning" on the pool deck when they put a towel animal on EVERY lounger by the pool. :D
Wait! What about Oceania, Regent, Viking, Seabourn, Windstar, Silversea and Ponant? No love for those cruise lines? I've been on over 20 cruises with 6 different lines. There is no "perfect" cruise line, but some are close. My least favorite (ones I've had the most issues with) are Royal Caribbean and Princess. The one RCL cruise was so bad that I'll never go on another one of their ships.
Hey Sizzlemann! This guide includes budget and mainstream cruise lines only, I have cruised with Viking but none of the others. I only talk about things I really know about ☺️👌
There is a misstake in the guide i think. Dining isnt fixed at Tui Cruises. If you go to the main dining rooms (Atlantik Classic and Atlantik Mediteran) you will be seated like at NCL without reservation. There two "important" points missing at AIDA aswell. First there is a social media flat which you can buy for your phone. It gives you internet access to all social media apps and only costs 24 € (if i rememeber correctly). I have never seen something like that on other cruise lines. Another important point (channel for young people) is that AIDA offers a discount for young people. If you are under 24 you get 25 % disocunt. Not only for the 3. or 4. person but for the 1. and 2. aswell. Btw I love that you have included these two lines. Most english chanels just ignore them :D
I've only been on two Carnival cruises and had a great time. I want to check out Norwegian next. I'm interested on a British cruise line and Hurtigruten if they really do northern lights cruises
Wow talk about weird & unexpected. Made a comment today, asking about an app or listing for finding sailings. Then this video of yours showed up in my feed.

Btw I love your eyelashes, they make you look very provocative. Cheers from Canada.
Hey Emma. You had very positive things to say about your Northern Lights cruise on Viking, but I don’t see Viking listed here. Just curious why they didn’t make the cut ?

P&O Australia are owned by Carnival, which is why they’re very different from the original British P&O. Pre pandemic they were better known for outbreaks of diarrhoea than actual travel.
