  • We are back again with the '98 BMW Z3! So far I am loving this car so don't let the title fool you. I've put around 400 miles on it and have enjoyed every minute of it! There are several little cosmetic things wrong with the car that need fixed or replaced, nothing major at all though and I'll be getting those little things fixed along the way. Comment and let me know your thoughts, be sure to rate the video and subscribe today if you haven't already!

    I've had my 2.8 for over a year with 100k miles and the only mechanical issue it had was a minor vanos oil leak. Cost me $400 to have repaired. SUCH a reliable car ever since!

    My dad has had a 2001 3.0 z3 roadster for the past 19 years and it’s in amazing condition and such an amazing car to drive still. I love it.

    The fog light switch is not factory. As for the radiator that may have been replaced as preventative maintenance. You should check and see if the plastic hose fittings on the side of the engine block under the intake manifold, and the one on the back of the head to see if they have been replaced. Those are the only real weakness of the car, they should be replaced every 70-80 thousand miles. If they break it will be a disaster.

    It’s a good car. But could the antenna be a bit longer? 500ft seems to be inadequate:)

    Exterior looks surprisingly good when compared to the interior which looks a bit abused, and the engine bay looks a bit suspect as well. My guess is the seller had the exterior polished to looks its best prior to selling to get the most of the sale. Engine needs to get looked at, it doesn't sound entirely healthy but I could be wrong. If engine is in good shape, a little love with getting some of those loose ends taken care of and you have yourself a nice little car to enjoy for a few years.

      Yeah, mine has 205 and no problems, and does not burn oil. The last time I checked the mpg I got 39, I love it.

    It’s so funny how some of the same problems with my 98’ Z3 are apparent here, the center Storage lid is a nightmare that falls off because the hinge was snapped, the inbetween seat lid is cracked apart, and the seatbelt holder thing on the side of the headrest is broken.

    Check the mounting bracket on the differential. Some of those sheet metal brackets crack.

    Cars depreciate, but their parts do not.

    Honestly, $1800 isn't a bad price for upholstery work if it's real leather.

    You mentioned water pump needed to be replaced. How frequently & what did that cost at a shop? Thx!

    “Money pit” my ass.
    For example, a new OEM radiator for a BMW 1 series costs close to 100 euro’s!!!!

    Do these cars work well in the rain

    • @Eliyourcarguy
      @Eliyourcarguy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven't driven mine too much in the rain, but I have noticed the few times I have that it can easily spin out if you aren't careful because it is so small and light!
