Through a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore come to believe that Dave is going to propose to his new girlfriend in Miami…and dump them. They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves not only from losing Dave but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother.

Tim Allen, Chevy Chase, and Bill Murray were originally gonna play David Seville, but they declined it (good thing cuz they were all old at the time lol). So Jason Lee got offered and that’s a good thing bcuz he fits the bill u know?

I had no idea that they were offered the role until i read that online. Also had one of the guys accepted the role, I think Allen would've been the best fit for Dave. He kinda has a very stern, authoritative but kind personality. But I'm glad Jason Lee played Dave. He fits the bill pretty well if i do say so.
Jason Lee is a very laid back and relaxed guy when he's not playing Dave.
Ya can’t blame Jason Lee, his famous Alvin yell is one of the reasons why the movies became something you feel like impersonating.
Btw, if you ever decide to make a 5th instalment of the Franchise, I suggest you keep your beard on, just for the new look.

Dave is my favourite character in all the movies. This guy did an awesome job playing him. I saw both the Squeakquel and Chipwrecked in theatres actually. Seeing those movies on the big screen was awesome. I really hope a 5th movie comes out someday. I think Chipwrecked is my favourite in the series.
