1 handed clamp set - easier than tags
    Tire levers
Heat the tire for 3 mins in hot water 80°c
Apply lubricant oil with hands on the rim's outer edge and the inner surface
Apply oil with hands on the outer edge and inner edge of tire which has contact during mounting. Without lubricant there is chance of tire bead getting damaged.
After the first tire bead goes in, with hand push the second bead as far as possible and use the clamps to press the tire on the sides to hold the tire inside the rim. Then use the tire lever to complete it.
It is as easy as 10 mins job !

Don't do the boiling water trick with the Max folks, it will ruin the self healing layer inside the tire.

Thank for your video on rear tyre change, I did the rear tyre change in less than half an hour, clamped the tyre instead of electrical ties then put ratchet strap around tyre tightly to get the tyre to seal and pumped it up and it popped out, EASY.

One thing I'd like to add regarding the initial tire inflation.
The best way to get it up and running for free is by doing what I did and just taking your scooter (or just the wheel) to your local gas station and use one of the car tire pumps to inflate it. They usually are free however you also have to rely on the mercy of the gas station staff as these are technically not allowed to be used on bike wheels. Some gas stations might take issue with you doing this but my gas stations are pretty chill about it.
Thanks so much for the video it helped me fix my flat rear tire on my KQi3 Sport, it was an absolute NIGHTMARE! NIU definitely makes great scooters until the moment you have to make repairs, then they turn to among the worst

Thank you for your video, I used it as a warm up before I tackled my sons. FYI, if your having trouble seating the bead of a tire, you can try using a ratchet strap around the perimeter to help push the beads against the wheel✌️

Just a note that I tried to change this, but ended up damaging the rim edges and it leaks air (even after adding bead sealer). Ended up needing a new motor/rim assembly. I've learned that while some things are fun as a challenge this one is best left to the scooter pros to change. But I appreciate the how to!

Thanks for the vid. My scooter's rear tire valve came apart and I needed to get the rear wheel off and one side of a tire off in order to replace it. Yes, the rims are soft and I ended up scraping a few sections. Also, I had to take it to my car mechanic's shop to reset the tire beads. He recommended that the valve core be removed when resetting tires as this allows a higher inflow rate.

Ok id like to update......the actual dismantling of the scooter was easy enough....and i used a heat gun instead of a hair dryer ...All basic tools then...I've taken off the tyre easy enough and a friend of mine will put the new tyre on at his garage because i cannot be bothered to struggle with the new tyre ....The tyree i actually bought isnt the best quality like the original so ive purchased a thicker and better quality tyre for the next removal in the future. Its not as bad as it looks guys ..this video made it alot easier .

I had the same problem of not being able to have the tyre put on perfectly, I just went to the gas station with an air compressor and set pressure to 50psi and started filling initially it wasn’t filling, I just pushed the tire down really hard into the ground and kept filling air, it locked the empty spot and filled it and stayed in

My, what an ordeal! Two thoughts/conclusions from my POV. 1) If you decide to do this yourself, if the tire is no good (in my case, it is leaking), why not save some time and avoid the whole clamping, pushing/pulling/levering by just dremel-cutting the tire all the way through -- from the bead to the tread -- and then just pull the tire off? Putting a new tire on a rim is always easier, in my experience, so effort saved there. And potential rim/wire/misc. damage avoided.. 2) Speaking of potential damage, I am evaluating that AND what my time is worth. Might it be better to spend the money to send it back to the service center and have them assume all the risk and effort? (Sending it in is what they just told me was the non-DIY option). You would think I could take it to a dealer, but they did not say that was an option.
Also, one last thought/question regarding a leaking tire: any of the puncture sealants work for that?
    Thoughts folks?

I used to change tires for a living as a young lad. I notice you didn't lubricant the tire before mounting the tire. Great suggestion, you can use petroleum jelly around the bead of the tire. It'll help getting the tire into the rim and seal. Once you get the air in

Ok.. great informative video. But for all of those who wish to purchase a Niu Scooter, you had better get your head examined. First of all, no bicycle repair shop will even go near them due to all the work involved to fix them. As a person who had to change the rear tire (flat, which can't be plugged)on the KQI3, its a total nightmare. Everything had to be taken apart on the scooter which was the floor board, the battery cover, wiring etc) Then try removing the old tire to put on a new one. Good luck !! Then after the tire is on the hub, it wouldn't inflate due to air leaking out between the tire and the wheel hub. All of this after just 6.5 months of light use on bike paths. I was so pissed off that I just gave it away to cut my loses. Bottom line. Stear clear of these things until repair shops open up close to where you live.

Nice video.... A tire is a tire and when seating the bead some soapy water (or other tire lubricant like they use at tire shops) would have helped you immensely! Dry rubber on the rim is very difficult to seat, but with soapy water I bet you would not have had any issues! It's like any other tire for that matter.

    Adressing everyone with flat tires!!!
You can also try to use Slime or some other tire sealant to fix a flat tire. All you have to do is to order the correct one (for tubeless or Tube tires) and fill it in through the valve.
It might be able to save you quite some money, stress and workhours of changing the tire!

if I buy a gen2 hub motor (starting with a 9) for a Ninebot G30 and put it on my gen1 (starts with '6' ), will I get all the benefit from a gen2 motor, or are there other elements of the scooter that changed -like the controller or something?

    • @Iamthedeeeeee
      @Iamthedeeeeee ปีที่แล้ว

Idk the difference is the motor from the 1st to 2nd gen but if the 2nd gen in rated for more wattage then likely no. The controller needs to be able to output correct voltage and wattage.
For example I cant install a 58v 2000watt motor on kqi3. Just won’t work with the 48v system, also the controller can’t output 2000watts. Hope this helps.
