How do I find & contact the builder of the number 1 house? It would be perfect for a person like myself. I'm disabled and it looks like it would have easy access for a electric chair.
      Thank you for your time.

These are truly wonderful creations. Mankind is able to manufacture a home for the people who are homeless due to so many reasons. But in the end it will always come down to one thing. Money. The prices one these things are ridiculous. The people who need them the most will never get them. So much for progress.

The later utility may be innovated by the shower system. Still my favorite home suite.

#1, the 3D House is stunningly beautiful, simple, aesthetically pleasing, and very affordable.
It looks great for single people, couple, could be put on a platform for mobility, used where people work til they start building a family, then go in the backyard for many purposes, or be built onto with simple dog run porches.
For a price cheaper than a new roof on a standard home, it looks a MARVELOUS mother-in-law suite. So many options, both in Design, and in Functionality, and purposing. AWESOME!

I liked the EcoCapsule for its design functionality and looks the best. The Solar & Wind powered system seemed like a great combination to stave off any power shortages. I hope mass production of them drives the price down to half of what they are starting out. Then they would truly be something affordable for almost everyone.

Most of these ignore the Elephant in the room = Zoning- a biggie 4 the LibTurdie Governments. For the cheap houses, they meet the "victimy" qualification and are somewhat realistic for the Poor-As-Dirt-Turd-Whirld Situations. I am impressed by the 3-D Printer, and the fact it was permitted. Absolutely love the No.1 3-D PRINTED HOME! What a fantastic gift for all the countless desperate communities throughout the World, where the rich could improve the lives of millions of poverty-stricken families, couples or single people who are either homeless or finding "shelter" in shacks, tents, shed-like structures, etc, that most people wouldn't "house" their dog in. Come on, you rich millionaires throughout the World, do something worthwhile and unselfish with your obscene amount of wealth! One gold tap, one week's holiday, one of your cars/boats/holiday homes.... And believe it or not, You'll be soooo much happier too than with all the material stuff you own! Give it a go! For the sake of humanity and the sake of your soul. 🙏❤💰

I have long been a fan of smaller self reliant or sustainable living structures. Perhaps it is a hold over from my youth. My brother and I were fortunate enough to be raised on a a couple of acre spread that had many large deciduous trees, Willow, Oak, Maple etc. thus we were constantly constructing tree houses. I assume this is were my fascination with tiny living began. After high school and before University, I was fortunate enough to spend two years living and working as the caretaker of a very small, yet original, log cabin built by CN rail at the turn of the 20th century in Banff National Park, Canada. The structure was roughly 250 square foot in size, and sat right on the Bow River. I had both a wood stove and was also tied into the grid. I used the stove for cooking and also as a source of heat. However, as Banff is designated a National Park, I was not able to simply chop down any tree I wanted. Thus, I would be supplied with cords of wood a few times a year.. Anyway, I want to return to this style of living thus I have been looking around at new structures that would work in the cold climate of Canada with our harsh and long winter months. I must say, I am just blown away by the prices people are asking for the structures on your list here. It seems that the whole concept of "Tiny Living" has been co-opted by companies with slick marketing campaigns which are directly targeted at the wealthy few who can afford to drop over 100k on a small egg shaped trailer to pull behind their Range Rover - absolute insanity! or perhaps 70k USD for 160 square ft tiny home on wheels? At these prices the whole concept and the original purpose behind the idea of tiny living has been lost somewhere in the equation. It seems to have become, a "trendy" alternative lifestyle dreamed up by Madison Avenue. It has almost become solely for the affluent few who can afford to experiment with different types of living experiences when it originally was for those who simply wanted to live off the grid and did not have the excess income stream to outfit their homes with stackable washer/dryer and fully furnished kitchens, complete with matching brushed stainless steel appliances!
I would like to see the focus return to the original idea of affordable living solutions with a small footprint, period.
...There are so many tiny home companies springing up who have, as their number one goal, that of profit margin and nothing else. The idea has been distorted and co-opted by capitalists. It is now how can we build the most inexpensive home which will bring us the biggest return on our dollar! Another example of good ideas being corrupted by materialistic greed, something us original tiny home dwellers were originally trying so hard to escape....now people are mortgaging their tiny homes - it is absolutely ridiculous! isn't that exactly why the movement started, to escape the trap of debt and free up more time for travel and enjoying life rather than just being another cog in the wheel of the big machine,.........Folks, don't become simple prey for the marketer and materialists - simply come up with your own design. Then assemble the materials necessary for the job, and if you need some help here and there, hire a young third year apprentice carpenter of electrician for twenty bucks an hour to get you through the more difficult stages of your project. You will be much more satisfied in the end and you also will have a lot more in your pocket when the job is done! Don't be a sucker!

    • @storyteller1749
      @storyteller1749 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I totally agree with your ending statement. Don't rely on the existing concepts. Develope your own. That was the start of the whole tiny home movement to begin with. Amazing how greed can overtake even the purest of purists.

All of the retro-futuristic looking pods I adore. Their price tags are another matter. Getting them closer to $4,000 max would be ideal for a greater number of people. These could help solve the transient homeless problem here in The United States of America. At least as a cheap $40-$50 per month living situation to help struggling people get back on their feet. Run it as a pod park where pods are like small cabins that people rent as needed for up to a predetermined period of time.

    Amazing.
At that cost there could be homes for every homeless person on this planet.!!!
I could also see it saving millions - if not billions- in military costs (cheaper than the tents they use).

      Why????
So just GIVE AWAY stuff to “The Homeless.”
You know, “The Homeless,” as Leftists/Libs like to call them, are not actually “Homeless.”
That terms make it sound as if they are simply hard working Americans who fell on hard times, and through no fault of their own, lost their homes. EXTREMELY (And Purposefully) MISLEADING.
Before “Homelessness” became politicized by The Democrat Party, they were called: BUMS and TRANSIENTS. Which, incidentally is a FAR MORE accurate description.
Now why do you think “GIVING AWAY” “Free” homes to lazy Bums is a good idea? Now.... Sure, 4k is pretty cheap (it’s a lot more considering equipment costs, labor and of course LAND COST.... But where do you think that $4,000 dollars comes from? Would YOU be willing to write the check to pay it???? IM NOT. As long as something like that is paid COMPLETELY with donations, I’m fine with it.
I just don’t like people volunteering MY money for me!!!!! There is NO SUCH THING as “government money.” It’s called TAXPAYER MONEY!!! And I’d LOVE, for Democrat Party types to please STOP volunteering MY hard earned money for hair-brain schemes that DONT WORK AND WASTE MONEY, and give away to those who don’t deserve, and haven’t earned it.
Oh, another thing, put it next door to your house. NOT IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD!!!! When the GRAFITTI, DRUG DEALING, ROBBERIES, AND MURDER starts, I want it no place near me. And it WILL start. Always does.....

I like 1,2,3,4. 1,3, and 4 because they offer robust solutions to Africa where I live. 2 because this is technology on the move.

No. 1 is the best, one for housing shortage and almost damage-proof. Too many working people live on the street because of housing shortage, the best 'home friendly' and family usage because it looks like a typical home and not just a 'house'. I give this home an A+. How can we start a non-profit organization for each city globally for the homeless?

Wow, #1 made by a 3d printer is my favorite. I would like to see a video of the Hole process, start to finish.

#7 was cool, #5 looked like a design that most people with a minimum of construction experience could actually build themselves, #2 a runaway from a Star Wars movie - completely loved it, #1 technology brought down to the common man's needs. Great video!

The only one I would really consider, is the Submarine looking home. It was the most interesting looking and definitely would turn peoples heads when passing by.

I love watching these and I must admit I drooled over the ICamp. But... I do think they are too tech heavy (though the wow factor initially is great!) for someone like me. Thanks for showing us all this eye'camp'candy :-)

#1Print the main structure 100%. Print some roof beams and roof slates on the ground and let them dry while you print the main structure.
