      And...just wanted to say this was probably the most interesting to watch (for not being there) and my favorite presentation. My lighting class for my interior design program was really exciting and this sort presentation reminded me of that. Thanks for having a presentation that was well prepared, organized, delivered, and inspirational.

    While doing the face me light components I notice his jpg image did not have a background to it, did he alter this in sketchup or used another program to get rid of the background?

      Another software was used most likely. The image must have been a png or tiff file as jpg files don't have transparency.

    How did you create the lighting gradients. Was that through sketchup or photoshop?

    • @sketchuptrainer
      @sketchuptrainer 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was in photoshop, exporting out as a .png to then import as a texture.

      thank you for the response. I'm a lighting designer and I am constantly referencing this video for guidance. Job well done!

      I was successful in creating the images but when I save as a .png file in photoshop it tells me I need to save as a copy and I get a warning about layers. So I imported them and as an image and I can't see through the image (obviously I did something wrong). Or if import a texture I get multiple images or cones of light. I understand your time involved however I'm sorta new at this so your guidance would be appreciate, thanks.

      One more thing, what size gradient image do you recommend?

      Hey Matt. Sorry for the late reply. I'd be happy to create a video of the gradient texture to hopefully help you out. Let me know if you were able to find a workaround.

    what 360° camera does he use?

    • @sketchuptrainer
      @sketchuptrainer 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used a canon dslr with a tripod rig and a 8mm lens

      Thanks for the reply! Occasionally I work on renovation projects and I run into issues due to the lack of photo reference but never considered 360 photography as an option. Ever since I've watched your presentation I have been inspired to develope this into my workflow. This would be a great method to incorporate into the firm I work for, as a design solutioin and presentation tool.
