    Hand Loom & Weaving Process
In this technique, flat woven rugs are made with a two-dimensional construction. They do not have a pile and are made of sets of interlacing threads called warp and weft. This technique produces flat and light weight rugs.

This shows exactly why a hand-knotted wool rug can last 100 years, and why today's hand-loomed rugs are going to last 5-10. They are missing the cable wefting and fringe warp finishing that holds a rug square and firmly forever. Loomed rugs are made in the fraction of the time that traditional hand-knotted wool rugs, which makes them SUPER affordable and convenient. The trade off is just that they are shorter life commodity rugs. So they serve a purpose. It's just some stores try to pass these off as hand-knotted and handwoven, when they are not. I appreciate your sharing how the process works. Thank you.
