One thing I've noticed a lot lately is that snippets are changing a lot. Sometimes Google pulls content and just shows it as an answer to the question. Other times, the snippet appears more as a featured top result. Either way, these strategies are helping us get that spot at the top of the SERP faster and more consistently.

Hey guys, snippets are good, but they are not designed for visual search, they are for Google's voice search to have a response when asked a question. Google assistant uses snippets specifically to respond to queries.
So make it something that can be read out loud and makes sense.

Excellent content as always! Question - your video transitions from your main camera to a webpage, and annotating that page, or throwing up a comment and blurring yourself out as you talk are all great techniques and very well done! What software are you using to make these cuts to a webpage and transitions in your videos? I am looking at Screencast O Matic so I can go to a Google map and draw on it while recording but the drawing tools are rudimentary - there is no way for example to do the rectangular blue box like you guys did on the search page snippet in this video. TIA!

Hey Ricky, love your videos man! Can you please give advice is it better to make a huge broad niche site with 2k articles or 4 websites with 500 articels or 10 with 200 articles. Considering earnings, seo, ranking, eat, costs etc...???
I read the hot chocolate article and wondered if you explain in any of your videos how you arrived at your monetization strategy. Some advice I've seen says to keep the page streamlined and drive the reader toward one money-making offer. In that logic, almost every outbound link from the page leads to the offer and the reader is not "distracted" away to lower-paying options or to into analysis paralysis. But obviously, you've come to a different conclusion with a mix of multiple ads/offers and links to more articles. Can you share your logic on why you think that route does better?
And, by the way, thank you for putting out all of this high-quality content. My wife had a very successful blog years ago that we never monetized at all. She ranked #1 on Google for years on a number of competitive search terms without ever really trying to do so. And I think that it was all because of exactly what you are saying about focusing on putting out quality content.
Please make a video on how to do research for writing such type of articles? I have switched to info content and I am struggling a lot to find the actual information for such types of articles. I've been reading research papers for some of my articles but there isn't a research article available for every question out there.

Depends on wich schema markup do y need - are there schema markup in your search terms? if so it make sense
Are here any recommendations to go completely without that snippets, cause many others say, it is much better to let google pick up the right snippet according to every search therm. I like that approach.

Income school changed my life. I wouldnt be here if i never started this blog, no matter how much i earned. I started seeing that its possible to earn money online and my mentality changed completely. Now i can sell my website for around 7k dollars or wait until all of my content ranks and sell it for more. Also, i will probably start another website soon but this time i will outsource the content.
Yes, but you should add more info as well. Saying that you can rank in 3 weeks is cool but say as well that you need 2 year old domain with 100+ articles already written on the website...

For me, at least, it happens that my website wins the snippet in some countries but not in others. Sometimes I lose them all, and then they come back. Sometimes, a paragraph that doesn't even answer the question gets the snippet and I am just like...really??

Here's the thing about it! Now Google initially ranks your content; pulls it off and re-ranks it! Somehow; its Google dance but something up to a different level! I think the disappearing of your featured snippets and then re-appearing after some time was the same case!

When doing the subheadings for list posts, do you have to use the ol or ul tags? Or can it just be subheading tags with the text being numbers?
Any of the three can be easily picked up for a snippet. So do whichever best fits the article you’re writing. 👍🏼
Is the beef wellington result really a featured snippet? A search from the UK shows the page in 4th spot with the exact same description that you show in the video? Google isn’t pulling your assigned meta description but that seems to be fairly normal these days when Google pulls info from the page to create a more relevant serp description. Can we really describe a Google created meta description as a featured snippet, even when in 4th spot?
Good question. I think this highlights some of the overall changes we’re seeing in the SERP. I’m still referring to it as the featured snippet when it appears as a single result above the people also ask.
The format for these featured snippets where the answer requires elaborating seems to have shifted back to being very similar to a normal search result.
You could say the same for basically all of the examples we showed. At what point is it no longer a featured snippet?
In the end, I don’t really worry about whether or not it’s the featured snippet. It’s the top spot and answering the question clearly and concisely won us that spot quickly.

I have a question: Can I win the featured snippet on Google for this keyword "white acrylic nails designs"? Right now, what shows on top are the Google Images related to the topic. And I know it's not a featured snippet, or is it?

You need to think about it in terms of what the search intent of a query is.
Someone searching for that term wants to see a variety of different designs, from different websites and people so that's why it is showing a bunch of images from all types of websites. It's just pulling results from the Google Image search as most likely people searching that query are then clicking onto the images tab anyway.
If you want to be featured in with those images you need to create an optimized image for white acrylic nails that makes it into the top of the Google Image search results.
The first page of Google is basically a direct map on how to rank for that query, it shows you the type of content it wants, the types of headlines, everything.

Your query has a color in it. "Designs" is a very visual word. It's about search intent. Lots of people want visuals when looking up designs, and using "white" just seals the deal that the SERP is about images.
As the other poster said, you should rank for Google Images as well.
For another example, refer to tutorial video queries that replace the snippet with a TH-cam snippet. For some queries, people just want to see what's going on through a video, even if an article is very on point.

They do get swapped out pretty often when new they find new options.

Yes. Google basically disregards any meta descriptions you have and uses what it wants from your content.

Featured snippets come and go all the time. Its been happening to me for years. Its whatever the algorithm pulls at that time. I find you can change one word in your query but keeping the same query obviously and it will show different sites in the snippet. This has been happening since Google integrated them in 2014 and its nothing new.
Do you make money from snippets? Today i searched for an answer for something and the question was answered by the snippet and i didn't need to go to the site. I suppose it helps with DA and helping your other articles rank higher.
You don’t directly make any money from snippets. Yes it helps with authority but it’s also great when you win snippets for topics where the answer in the snippet is only superficial.
Usually if I’m winning the snippet I’m also getting a lot of traffic to my site because people know the answer is more involved than what they got in 2 sentences. But seeing my answer right there as a snippet gives them confidence that my article will actually answer their question.
The question its not rank in 3 weeks, because everyone know google send you to the first page the first 3 weeks to test your website interaction, the question its mantein the 1st position on 1 year with a had keyword

Ricky my website is 3 months old. Already published 32 articles. only 3 of the articles were indexed. Indexed articles are not good enough according to me. My latest articles have in-depth research. Every article is above 1200 words and all are answer types. Have answer snippet for everyone. some articles have 1800 words. I use my own images. No plagiarism. all other 29 articles are shown as crawled - excluded from indexing. No site-wide issues. No issue with Robot.txt. Why is this happening? This is demotivating me.
I think you should wait at least 2 months until you shouldnt worry. Google is sometimes slow with ranking posts, especially on new websites. Keep publishing new posts and dont worry about that rn!
Don't give up. It takes time. Make sure that your English passes grammarly and hemmingway editor.
I disagree with Bogdan simply because you are talking specifically about being indexed not your rankings.
If your posts are not indexed after a few days or a week I would start to be quite concerned.
You mention that they are shown as "EXCLUDED FROM INDEXING" which is not good and absolutely not something to ignore, it probably means you have fucked up a setting somewhere. First thing to do is make sure that you go to Settings > Reading and make sure the box is not ticked for "Discourage search engines from indexing this site".
Other than that I would check to make sure any SEO plugin you are using is not 'no-indexing' your blog posts etc. You can check the page source of a post and try to search for "noindex" to see if it's tagged with that etc.
Edit: Just looked at my search console and it should tell you if it's not indexed due to a 'noindex' tag so that may not be the issue if you are not seeing that in search console.

It's a good thing that the snippet disappeared. If the snippet answers the question, no need to click.

Almost all my posts on one of my sites has won snippets. Then someone came along and copied all my snippets. I thought they copied all my posts but I went to their site and it was ALL question plus answer. Of course they stole all my answer targets exactly. Google put them in the top spot that I had. It was so annoying especially since their site was crap. They even qualified for ads. Have no idea how. But then after you scrolled down their site, they changed to a totally different topic altogether, they went from animal topics to fruit topics! Again, all stolen content on other people's rich snippets. I was shocked that the AI did not catch on. But finally after about 3 to 4 months, they are now down page one to the #10 spot- but they should really not be ranking at all.

Don't use free tools. They messed my research up big time. The first articles I wrote were performed on a free tool which showed me low KD. These haven't ranked for over a year and still don't rank. After I used the Trial Version of Ahrefs I checked these keywords and most of them were above KD 60! Some of the content that I wrote using Ahrefs KW tool is already ranking first page. Only free tool you should use is Ubersuggest...
