THAT STAINED GLASS!!!! I adore this show. I especially love that George does a house history and shares that. I had always wanted to do a project like this but my husband has zero interest I LOVE a beautiful and character home. It pleases me to see so many county home become brought back to a unique, amazing and livable home. Those bells are like Downton Abbey!!
When I went to Europe and stayed in Airbnbs, it was really hard to find something that was not straight from Ikea. I would love to stay in something that had history and character. That makes a holiday so much more precious. After your show I am sure more people will be inspired and fall in love with period character, so maybe next time I go to Europe this will infiltrate into Airbnbs as well?
The glass kitchen....who will clean all the by-products of cooking off that glass ceiling...not my choice no matter how fabulous it looks. One couple took out the all glass conservatory and the other put one in 😊. Each to their own.
I agree, and even though it's not overlooked by neighbours, I would still feel exposed. And with the sun beating down, it just doesn't feel like a homely kitchen to me. But, as you say, each to their own.
In your own opinion ….., I think it’s a great juxtaposition of old and new . Kitchens were unusable for today’s living so why not add on in the modern style as indeed people did years ago … Many Georgian buildings have Victorian add ons , Victorian have Edwardian ones / art deco ones . It’s not a new concept . That 80s add on was dreadful
I love me a pink kitchen, but I wouldn't say no to the lilac. I hop young couple can afford a cleaner occasionally. Great results for both. TFS Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 ❄️
I’m not a big fan of lavender on everything however, if that is her choice and she lives with it that’s fantastic. Although lavender is a gorgeous color personally, I don’t think it’s meant to slather on everything. Then again it is paint so she gets tired of it and wants to go back to a more period Color then I’m sure that there’s plenty to choose from. Otherwise, the renovation is simply outstanding
The Victorian place came up beautifully, the use of soft colours bought such a life to the place. The glass kitchen..... I'm not a fan. It looks so heavy and stark, I feel an oak beam version would've suited better. Black steel just weighs everything down.

Beautifully done. But I’m afraid I could not live with all that lilac.
you and me both, prefer the cottage lady's decor personally
The first time ever i really like the changes made in all the houses featured. And so nice to see they dared to use colour !
Put the laundry upstairs with the bedrooms! Who want to take all the clothes up and down those stairs.
In the wardrobe..that’s very convenient
The washing is hung outside to dry.
Not if you use dryer.@@KD-wm5po

Fantastic transformations, wow! Bravo!
Thanks for sharing this.

Lovely renovations
Love the Victorian family home - whimsical and beautiful.
Beautiful vernacular cottages and a modern eyesore tagged onto the back - ugly .

Surely the glass kitchen would be hellishly hot in summer and cold in winter. Then, there's keeping the glass walls and ceiling clean.
There is glass now that solves both problems and also sytems to keep it clean

Michelle could work as a specialist consultant! Fabulous extension. G Ire
Was Michele on ETTC?
I do wonder why people who want an ultra modern style buy and old listed house
Because they love period features , room height but we don’t live as we used to so we have to modernise ,
Do you suggest an outside loo ?
It was, actually, for fun and for show. And what's wrong with that?
I'm sorry, but that lilac kitchen is *vile*. It just screams wannabee Wag to me.
Awful paint colour. Too much clutter.
What will happen if it hails?
Most likely the hail will melt
@22gtrotter or all the windows will be broken
