    The bastions solo ulting one another the whole game is probably the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. I can imagine how this game played out with the A plot being the tank raging at the supports and the B plot being the bastions feuding.

Emongg will commentate while trying to educate and give helpful tips. Flats will just roast the shit out of them. This might have been a good way to play Lifeweaver or Ana. Playing cover from farther away and bursting heals when you peek your allies (or they "peek" you). But Kiriko's papers don't bounce off terrain like blossom does. If the target leaves LOS before they get the oncoming heals, the ofuda will home directly at their location, hit the wall, and do nothing. You can't pre-heal in anticipation of allies coming around corners without getting the green "dumb-fire" papers.
    But the tank needed to learn when not to just be a fatter DPS.

    • @fireblitz3438
      @fireblitz3438 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The tank in general needs to learn what engagements look like and what positions should he take in order to take full potential of the characters. I cringed extremely hard seeing this guys gameplay that it reminded me of my friend’s gameplay on tank and he says he’s quote on quote “good”

    • @Real_MisterSir
      @Real_MisterSir ปีที่แล้ว +6

      its not a good way to play with any hero, it only builds bad habits that you will have to spend even more effort to rid yourself of later down the line. Ana 'can' make use of long sight lines and safe positions, but Ana's kit has most of its utility potential enabled by an active and dynamic playstyle where you don't just sit afk in the backline spamming heals. At most you'll hit silver or low gold with good aim, but thats about it.
      This playstyle in general for any support is just bad, period.

    • @sthepcorms6747
      @sthepcorms6747 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Real_MisterSir Not really, it really depends on the map and the composition of your team

    • @Real_MisterSir
      @Real_MisterSir ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sthepcorms6747 it really doesn't depend on the map, your rotations need to be fluid and value-seeking constantly if you want to actually play the hero to the limits her kit allows. Otherwise you're just wasting her potential through safe but passive play. Even GM players I coach have had a moment of realization once they see the value they leave on the table due to their positioning - it's mostly in top 50 consistent and contenders+ that you see Ana players truly adopt the full extend of her kit. And the earlier you start building those good habits, the better. If you don't, you will just have to overcompensate in other aspects, some of which build bad habits that maybe work in certain ranks but not others, and that's often why people plateau because the force feedback loop of poor decisions not carrying immediate negative impact that is easily observable unless you know what to look for.

    @Mew54152 ปีที่แล้ว +61

    Hi Kiriko friend! I was once a bronze support player, and I remember playing new to the game, even 6 months in and such.
    One thing Emongg is really focusing on is that you’re playing too far back, and if you’re anything like I was, you’re playing timidly bc you’re afraid of dying and not adding value from your respawn time. I promise you, you’ll get more value from playing closer and dying every once in a while than playing so far back that your healing isn’t even in range.
    One thing about kirikos healing is the papers are yellow when they’re within range of healing your target, and blue for when you’re too far and they wont do anything. If you notice they’re blue, get closer! Once again, I know you’re timid and not wanting to die, but that’s what your team is for, your Moira is doing a good job at healing the frontline, and while I’m not saying go frontline, definitely play close back line, or better yet on a cross high ground, so you’ll have an easy escape!
    Great thing about kiriko is her escapability! You have teleport up every 5-6 secs (can’t remember the exact off the top of my head and too lazy to look it up), when in an opportune time and your tank is pushing, you can teleport to them or better yet walk, and not necessarily push with them, but teleport, or walk, hang back a lil and escape when needed to. And in the rank you’re playing in rn, the enemy team doesn’t know when or really how to punish out of position players so you have more to work with right now to see what works for you!
    I’ve only really started watching Emongg in the past few months, but one thing he commonly says in bronze games, is don’t play off your cooldowns, don’t be constantly using your abilities. You may be a little hypersensitive towards your cooldowns, not wanting to play off your cooldowns, and knowing the right time to use them. But teleport is one thing you want to use as much as possible in the right moments when you see them. And you may not know the right moments yet, but you’re in bronze, take the time to learn what moments and plays are right for you!
    I don’t say bronze in terms of derogatory btw, I mean you’re not getting tossed into the deep end into diamond and up and are expected to know everything and anything yet. You’re learning! And as long as you have the willingness and the capacity to learn what works for you, do it! I’m diamond/master, and I’m still learning!
    That said, your tank was a dumbass 99% of this game. And I’m guessing he’s used to overly aggressive kirikos. Don’t worry about his dumbass, you’re doing ok. So play a lot more forward! Again great thing about kiriko is her survivability and means to escape. A timid way in the back line kiriko does less than a 5-6 deaths kiriko within the fights. (Most of the time, just don’t solely dps w all this power you just got 😂) you’re doing great sweetie!

      im a high rank support player
      this player, was definetly a factor for the lost. a lot of wasted cleanses and a lot of missed out clense opportunity, all deriving from the fact that they played miles off and dont actually support their team
      - edited note: im not defending their tank here. i dont want it to come off that way. their tank was absolutely atrocious, i would be going Bap just to save his ass. but at least he's aggressive, so hes not the absolute worst I've seen.
      but of course, they are rather low rank, so its to be expected.
      my point to you is that, coming FROM a support player that has recievied a LOT of blame in the past, supports are not immune to being the reason for a loss
      that said, should you be toxic? no, never should you ever be toxic. this is classic sun tzu philosophy for keeping your army happy. but to say this is a "classic support experiance" i would say is inaccurate. for one, you are suggesting that they weren't the reason for the loss, when they missed out on so many opportunities to save their tank. and while there were moments their team over extended, there were plenty, if not more times, where the team pushed up appropriatly, but our Kiriko friend just wasnt in the fight at all, they were just at home playing sims and throwing a heal every now and then.
      additionally, every single role gets blame for losses at different points. "tank diff" "rein diff" "dps diff" ive heared it all hundreds of times. so i wouldnt say "classic support experiance" when the whole thing is just full of mistakes from the very start and the person at fault is a big factor for the loss.
      Again, im going to reiterate, in case you missed it the first time i said it, should you be toxic? no, never. there are definetly better ways to approach a problem player such as our kiriko. im just making the point that she did have a lot of issues and her toxic teamate shouldnt just be summed up to "classic support experiance"

      You should have kills. Don't listen to criticism from low rank players, they're low rank for a reason. Damage IS healing. Pressure on the enemy team means less damage taken, kills mean less damage taken, the best healing is preventing the damage to begin with. Most people understand this concept with Lucio speed boost but for some reason nobody seems to understand how it applies to DPSing on support.
      And that is also the biggest mistake this bronze Kiriko is making, they are healbotting when they can be doing damage.

  • @otakuforever3878

    As a support main, I advise this Kiriko to not be scared to play the game. Try to use your utility more often but when needed so you can be able to get out of sticky situations. Don't healbot, use your kunais when teammates are at full health so you can help with the dmg and maybe get a kill or two. Also as Emongg said, don't play so far back as Kiriko, you need to be more with your team because when they need help on the point and you are in your spawn, you won't be able to help them. Your decision making is also kinda.. I don't know... Random? While I watched the video, I felt like you were thinking to yourself "do I heal, do I dmg, should I suzu here or maybe tp there", don't think so much, in lower ranks you don't need to make big decisions, just play and have fun, you will eventually learn what to do when and what not to do. If you feel more comfortable playing far back tho, I recommend you try Ana or Zen, even tho Zen is harder to stay alive with if you don't have teammates to peel for you. Sorry for my English and sorry for the long rant. Lol

    I think most of this was just by chance honestly, sometimes where kirko tried to heal the tank while he was fighting bastion, everyone else was in the way and they couldn't, and also in the beginning mercy was mostly on the tank so kirko probably didn't feel a strong need to heal him (low priority) and then some times yea they couldve saved the tank but its bronze u live and u learn

  • @ukyori
    @ukyori ปีที่แล้ว +1

    also, kiriko isnt just a healer, she has her kunais, use them. they do immaculate damage to small support or dps if you hit your shots, what im seeing if that this kiriko is mostly heal botting , and though ur keeping ur team alive, you can also help by using ur kunais to get a squishy ana for example if shes alone or far back in their backline

    let's look at the facts in their defenses if they not healing.
    1. Healers are easy pray for flankers (since you know 5v5 means no tank to cover the support)
    2. Most healers used for supporting DPS damage
    3. Support is the only one that doesn't take hours to find a game.
    (Overall I don't judge healers who go full DPS mode and stop healing because blizzard made it clear you have hate playing support) (I used be support but swap to 5v5 made it so I cannot enjoy being support anymore)

    • @sethescope

    notice that an issue i have is i play on gm tips and have lowest deaths as any role but my team doesnt play like that. i guess thats why im not going up. my question is how to climb when dealing with this nonsense? its on every role and every game and its more infurating that my last 30 games, the average rank was 5 ranks below my rank EVERY SINGLE GAME. except one. i do not have the ability to carry under-performers. why am i being judged on that. if i could get games above my rank. i could defensively play my way up, but the fact that these teammates get you to expose yourself. its pretty bad

    • @sethescope
      @sethescope ปีที่แล้ว

      my advice is to stop trying to play like GMs. you're not GM, your teammates aren't GM, it's not going to work. your games are going to be scuffed, your teammates are going to make scuffed plays, you're going to make scuffed plays. that's okay. what matters is figuring out how to contribute value to the teams in your ranks.
      let me give you an example. I'm not in GM either and I play support, so I focus on supporting the things my team is doing, even if it's not the ideal strategy or what I see streamers do. if I play Mercy, I don't necessarily hard pocket my dps 100% of the time because sometimes my tank will get more value from my resources. if I play Brig, I just focus on staying close to my other support and keeping inspire up and saving packs for teammates who are flankers. I don't go for too many off angles or flanks. I don't overcomplicate things, I focus on the basics.
      something that has helped me a lot has been focusing on what my team is doing instead of what they """should""" be doing. instead of worrying that my team isn't playing optimally, I just try to make sure what we do is successful.
      hopefully this helps even just a little bit or at least gives you something to think about. good luck!

    As someone who main Kiriko, Mercy and Ana this was a bit painful to watch.
    playing extremely defensive on a character that has huge dmg potential and great healing.
    also not attempting to save teammates with suzu from ults. I know it takes practice. But atleast try.
    that soldier dying in the bastion ult was saveable.
    anyway, i dont think you underhealed, as you healed 97% of the match. Though like Emong says, Distance is your issue here.
    and hey, i do it sometimes too. Though i realize it often.
    i used to play like that. Now i nearly always have my tp on cooldown as i move around all the time.
    also, your tank was garbage. constantly diving in soloing the enemy team in unfavorable positions.
    you could have dived in and healed, but that would just have cost both of your lives.
    was interesting to watch though.

    Last night I had a game where one rando support would hardly heal. They healed more on zen than they did on baptiste because he was just being a dps. Zen can work if played right, but this guy was playing zen like widow. Sitting in our extreme backline and sometimes throwing his heal orb on me. But when he switched to bap he literally did nothing but damage and made a window for him and him alone. And despite doing nothing but damage, he got like, two kills by the end of the game. THATS what throwing looks like as support.
    Thankfully this was just in quick play. I would have reported him if it was comp

    obviously this tank needs to learn to not walk up to turreted bastions and to use cover, but as someone who's only plat, I love when I have an super aggressive tank and I'm on kiriko. i go in with them (and usually another dps) and we just chase down the enemy since they're not expecting such hyper-aggression. and if it all goes wrong, i just tp out. but usually on push or hybrid maps (on attack) we just create a crazy temp and roll, and the poor enemy team is left just trying to react and pick up the pieces.

  • @rezq9109

    Painful to watch. It doesn't matter how often you press your healing button at that point, you are so far and it travels way too slow, which is basically no healing. Could have picked Lifeweaver and be a healbot, since his projectile is faster = 100% more value with this playstyle.

    From my perspective this person shouldve been a way more aggresive healer. They might be scared of dying or too worried about stats but its better to follow your tank into risky fights and maybe win than to leave them to die. Its the same as trickling if you leave your teammates to die all the time. Vice versa though the tank cannot be getting melted immediately. They need to mitigate damage and hold choke points and protect healers while the dps does their thing. That being said the healers do need to focus on their tanks because they take the most damage this guy was more worried about his dps than his tank. This has to he low rank gameplay. Even the youtuber said he couldve been closer several times. Even from the start. Lol finally the youtuber started to say what i was thinking towards the second half of the video.
