You did a fantastic job. I like the way you put a stop on faceframe for the counter top very smooth. I am now rethinking my cabinet layout I have a seat behind my sink cabinet but I think I messed up trying to do a different style cabinet. I think I’m gonna go back to the other style. Well another $60 for new wood😂😂
With changing it on the fly, the stop was the only thing that would work since it was cut to size. We really thought through our layout to maximize space for us and the dogs. There are so many layout options, it's hard to settle on just the right one
Thanks brother! 😎 The counter top was 50"x21". I made the uprights 19x35.5". This was so that the counter top sits at the standard 36" tall after we put in the plank flooring to finish off the living space in the future. The cabinet box ended up being 50"x20.5" with the face frames. Leaving a 1/2" overhang of the counter off the front. 👍🏼
I got home 🏡 from work and sat in front of the tv and wife said put on Ozark or Vikings ? I said , first let’s watch Matt work on the Van. Lol . Hey I glued a cabinet down , later regretting it when wanting to move it or make modifications. Great Video!
😂 Thanks for thinking of our channel first! I've definitely done things in the build allowing for the ability to be removed later, adhering this down just felt like it made sense to keep it in the correct position. Hopefully no regrets moving forward 🤞🏼
Wow Matt, that cabinet looks great! Your Van is taking shape and is looking really good! Keep up the great work, looking forward to your plumbing video!
@@Trailvagabonds I know what you mean about the heat, that is holding me from starting my build that and working double shifts at work. The days I'm off just to tired to do anything and I'm a little older than you guys. But I will start very soon now that it is starting to cooling off.
Hi again, As usual, love the videos! They have been ridiculously helpful as we build our van. Couple of quick questions for you. How did you attach your countertop to your kitchen cabinet and how did you do your undermount sink? Undermount Clips?
I attached it with a 2 part epoxy that the countertop place provided. It had been extremely solid. For the sink I didn't use the clips since there was so little space around the sink cutout and also because the countertop was so hard to drill into. I adhered the sink with a silicone adhesive to the counter then had boards cut that I pocket holed into the cabinet that held the sink tight up in place.
We used Baltic birch but it was before Covid and the war in Ukraine so prices were very decent. Recently I used a cabinet grade white birch with a lite core (I don’t remember the actually name). It was very solid wood put very light which is helpful in the van. It also paints very nice compared to some cheaper options. It was a little more expensive than standard sheets you’d find at a big box store but I found was very worth it. My main suggestion is don’t buy at Home Depot or similar because their water content is so high that boards warp much faster than at an actually lumber yard. Good luck with your choice!
Thank you, Brad! Sorry I just saw this comment now. We went with with BF Goodrich TA KO2s in the stock 225 75r16 size. I’ve heard you can go a little larger without a lift but you may have to modify the fender so they won’t rub. I’ve been very happy with them. Look so much more burley than stock tires and feel they’ve helped on some backroads
Matt thanks for getting back much appreciated. Two more questions if you don’t mind. Can you tell me how the tires ride with regular drive like highway and city use. Second can you tell me if your gas milt changed much over the stock tires you had? Thanks again
@@bradnovack1480 we actually purchased the van with the tires included so we didn’t use it with the stock slicks. Since we purchased the van we’ve seen between 14-16mpg. Probably less than stock tires would give. In terms of ride, they have a noticeable noise to them but I’ve been very happy with the ride quality. Peace of mind on dirt roads. And a nice look
Hey Matt, I'm pretty sure that piece on the door frame is your sensor letting you know if the door is open -if I'm thinking about the same thing -couldn't really see what you were pointing at. Cabinet looks great!

Thank you so much! It's been slow going with the summer heat, have had no motivation many days! I'm glad fall is right around the corner! 😊

I just realized the next video in the series (Plumbing Ep 1) shows that process a bit if I remember right
Thanks for the awesome videos guys, your cabinets look amazing! We’re starting to plan ours and using you guys for inspiration 😁 🙌
Glad they can be helpful! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with! 😊
Great job ! What type of plywood did you use ? Birch wood or a Baltic birch I see some use . The cost of Baltic is so high

Off subject but can you tell me what size tires you have on your van. The build out looks really nice. Great job

That's kinda what I was thinking 👍🏼 Thank you! I'm really happy with how it's turning out. Now to figure out how to put drawers in it 🤔
Very nice! Are you using the same construction adhesive that you used for the bump out 2x2s? I thought that was a great idea, btw.
Yep, exactly the one. I used it for the bump out, drawer slide rails, and this. Hasn't let me down so far 😊
Matt & Katie Good to know. Thanks!
No problem! 🙌🏻
