Really enjoyed listening to your video. If anything, I’d like to see you use a prompter in the future (or trying to memorize the script) I feel a bit disconnected when watching you read off-camera. Keep going, I’m happy to say I’m your 519th sub! Cheers!
Another great review, really appreciate how much effort you put into explaining every single detail of these speakers . I have compared the R3’s with these and I thought the difference was very subtle. It makes me think that after this price point you really are just paying for extra looks and build quality that does look very nice but is it worth it? 🤔
I A/B tested these with the R3 Meta and IMO the difference was bigger than expected. So much to me that I would personally spend the extra and get the R3 Meta instead of these. I acutally thought I would get the Concertos for my setup but was a bit disappointed how "far off" they were from the R3 Meta. So I guess my next speaker will be in the 2k+ category with one option being the R3 Meta but there are others as well. Quite interested in the Wharfedale Aura 2 but I think they are quite huge.
Ii just bought the KEF Q11’s . They remind me of my Focal Choras . I’m going to leave them next to my Choras . They are breaking in . I can’t wait to hear them with my twin REL T9x’s . 🎉👍
Measurements of these show no real audible distortion at 96db at 1 meter. These things can be pushed pretty hard and still sound great. I wouldn’t recommend sustained volumes over 96db though.
I find it bizarre that the banana plugs don't fit (you reported the same issue with the Elac Debut 3.0). I'd love to know what these manufacturers have to say about this. Also, great review!
Yeah, I don't know if I am the only person who cares about it but I want my bananas to go all the way in for a better connection and not risking damage to the connectors.
Excellent. At last, someone who understands audio, and knows what he's talking about. I would only suggest that you also discuss the placement instruments and voices within the soundstage; soundstage depth and layering, and whether whatever speakers you're testing disappear. Finally, by all means, test the R3 Meta. Thanks. Oh, and I'm subscribing.
I think yes,..the R3 is a fantastic speaker and has exceptional build quality...it does need good amplifier and placing the speakers can make big difference...I'm so loving the sound from mine ... Enjoy.
@hclandscapes I have, they have them in their Londons KEF showroom. To be honest, only a good ear would tell the difference, I just went for the biggest is better rule of thumb.
@@davidcurry4433 I would like the Q11 but at 15 inches deep I’m limited on room placement and the Q7’s are 12.5 inches deep giving me a bit more space plus my room isn’t exactly massive. I currently have B&W 704s2 speakers that work well in my space but they don’t give me enough bass and can be a little bright at times . How far do you have your Q 11’s of the back wall? I think KEF suggest a minimum of 9 inches deep giving?
Hmm, with this kind of bass response, it makes me wonder if I would gain anything by going with the Q11 Meta's. Granted, you don't have to buy and fool with stands.
I feel like the Q11 Meta would be able to play full enough range that you could set them as large with the AV receiver and then put a sub in the back of the room and get very even bass response across a larger seating area.
@@feelgeorge really close, I compared them both last week. I think the main difference is a slightly bigger uniQ driver that adds a bit more trebble energy and detail then obviously much better build quality. I must admit I do like a speaker that’s well made /braced and comes with a real wood veneer, but I have really been considering going for the Q7 or Q11 meta as they sound so good just not sure if I could be totally happy with the budget feel and build quality 🤔
@@hclandscapes I expected them to be close, but not as close as people are saying, interesting. I would imagine the Concerto would fall short to the R3 Meta in things like depth, layering, separation/air/space, and general micro-details. Perfect for somebody who the Concerto is an upgrade for, but once you have set your goalposts, I think it would be hard to justify not going R3 Meta if you can tell what you are losing by going down in the line.
A real wood veneer will never only cost $100! You generally don't see them until double the price level of these. FWIW, I think these speakers look much nicer in Walnut. This white looks cheap/plasticky.
@@AV-Obsessed ah that’s disappointing as I had my eye on that finish and thought it looked good from the pictures. I have only seen the mat black in person and next to the R3 meta it was a bit underwhelming
Good video. Watched all the way through and your intro is fine. Everyone has to have a hook and that isn't really corny, it fits 🤷♂🤷♂👍👍
I appreciate the feedback and thank you for watching all the way through.
These KEF Concerto vs the 3 Way Elac Unify UB5. Would be an awesome comparison to see as the UB5 are also fantastic 3 way speakers.

Thank you for this speaker review. I have been looking at these speakers. 👍
Spot on review. I have the Concerto with NAD c3050 with RT85 and it sounds great.

I think 🤔 the intro is just fine.👍
Thanks, you are the first to comment about it.
@@AV-Obsessed Your welcome. I do look forward to your video comparisons. 👍😎
Great interesting video, I wonder how good the walnut wrap is , suprised about he speaker binding posts. Regards mark
It's a great budget speaker. All the complaint points are expected at those prices.
It's awesome to see the UniQ drivers in this series.
Nothing beats KEF R3 Meta in Indigo color!
I have seen the photos of them and yes, they are gorgeous!
Oh yes, that is a masterpiece, beats the walnut for me which I absolutely love too

Could you make a comparison of these q concert meta vs monitor audio studio 89?
Would absolutely love to do that but I have no way of getting them without losing a lot of money. If anyone from Monitor Audio sees this...?
Great Review! I just bought a pair of R3 non metas used for £900. Did I make the right decision?

Yes
How would they compare to Wharfadale Linton. Would really appreciate your view.
I would love to do that comparison, but someone would have to send me a pair of Lintons for that to happen.
I’m really interested in the big Q11’s would be great if you could give these a review on here.
I've had my Q11 and Q6 for a few days now. If your budget is big enough, you won't be disappointed
@@davidcurry4433 did you compare the Q11 with the Q7’s?

The R3 meta cost 72.88% more than the Concerto in the UK. Do they sound 70% better? Don't think. I wonder how they would pair with audiolap 7000A
Speakers never work that way! You generally need to triple your budget to get notably improved performance.

will the audiolab 6000a be able to drive these to get the best sound out of it?
I haven't tested anything from Audiolab but from other channels reviews it seems like they are good products that power most speakers well.
They are down @12.5 dbbetween 40 and 30 hz
They are going after Buchart 300

Aren't you the same guy that buys and sells what he buys after you review it ❓
No I buy it, use it for a little while for the review, and then return it.
