I've watched NBA for years and I have never seen such a delightful ball handler. This guy was such an excitement to watch. He totally deserved that championship ring.
Nope. Not underrated or overrated he belongs right where he is at the bottom.. He was was one of the most inconsistent point guards of all time. It showed in the playoffs when John Stockton schooled him. Don't act like you know basketball Jew boy. You used to get beat up on the court by big black guys.
Mike Bibby and Doug Christie too bro, I'm a Mavs fan and they kicked us out the playoffs like 3 years straight.. I hated Peja, best 3pt shooter at one point.
+Phoebe Ann Rubio Bibby came over after J-Will got traded. I always preferred that squad with white chocolate at the point just because they were so fun to watch, but they got further with Bibby.
wow couldn't have said it better myself, as a Trail Blazer fan he was still so fun to watch. Just good solid basketball with flair...many comparisons to pistol Pete but Jason was the new law and he succeeded, if you saw him in his prime it was ridiculous.... he was ahead or possibly behind his game....I will always love his game, keeping every teammate in the game so be ready for a pass when cutting.
I remember watching J-Will's games and highlights with the Kings back in 98 - 2000. He made the post-lockout (post Jordan era) NBA fun to watch. He wasn't the best player, or the most fundamentally sound, but he was flashy. I remember announcers comparing him to Bob Cousy and Pistol Pete. I'm 35, and other than Magic Johnson, JW may have been the most entertaining ball handler during my lifetime.
I like how you put the icing on the cake... During your lifetime. More people need to say that in their comments. Give me Pete, Magic and then Jason... 1, 2 & 3, on just pure sheer passing ability.
+javier foo You mean...like now? Or after with Bibby? They got farther without him though. Kinda makes people wonder what'd happen if they didn't trade him and let him progress in Kings the whole time.
I guarantee the majority of people watching his highlights never even knew him during his playing days. It’s nice seeing good players get appreciated via highlights and TH-cam
Too bad Raef LaFrentz got fouled by his own teammate James Posey in that Rookie Challenge game and he couldn't finish it. Thats why they cut it in the video right after the pass.
One of the most if not the most underrated PG to play in the NBA. sick handles, mad vision, crazy passing and huge heart. Just the wrong era, if he was playing in this era with a good supporting cast he'd be a championship contender for sure
The editing in this video, specifically the syncing of the video to the music, is incredible. Almost every time a ball goes through a hoop, it occurs on the beat. This makes the viewing experience like watching a well-oiled jazz combo. I had to watch the video several times to make sure I wasn't imagining it. The biggest treat is at about the 1-minute mark: His crossover occurs on one beat, his shot on the next, and the shot falls through the rim on the next.
As a long time NBA fan (well over 30 years), thanks for putting this together. This takes me back to when the league was a lot more fun imo. Jason was incredible, so entertaining.
scorpas Because he is relegated as shooting point guard, while Dwayne Wade, obviously being the main star, doing all the flashy works. Curry on the other hand, already build as deadly shooter since young age. His dribble skills developed later in NBA.
The Kings use to sell out on the road just because people wanted to see what he was going to do next. I remember him getting a standing ovation in DC one time and he missed the shot. I wish this video could have shown reactions from some of the other teams benches, because you would see them trippin out off what he was doing. Those were the days here in Sac.
I am a lakers fan. However that Sac team. This man Jason Williams, was taken for granted. No player has ever had this type of passing or ball control. Will we ever see this level of dexterity on the court again?
He is the reason i became a sacramento kings fan...he is the best P.G. to eva do it...he is better than most of the pg's in todays game...he just has a swag to his game i can't explain it...he is smoove like water...
He got fouled but he was not even ready for the pass. lucky he even caught it. I do wish he would've dunked it though. That would have taken the "Elbow Pass" Highlight into the All Time Hall of Fame of Passes.
Thank you for the great balling you, C-Webb and the rest brought to Sacramento during your time here!!! Can't wait till Sac has all roads to the Championships coming through here. Peace out

"White Chocolate" smh.. that boy was just nasty! How can I like this vid 10x? J Will was ill. I remember when he first came into the league, his away games were like home games the way they cheered and revered his gameplay, the home team had to feel some way.
Damn 1:15 the way he turned his head to the crowd without looking whether or not the ball went in. Despite having low FG percentage and leading the league in TOs, dude's swagger/confidence was like 110% lol can't help but to respect him for his mentality. Man's got some nerves!
Ikr. If you have taken Kobe and Mj’s (two elite defenders) ankles, you have reached the perfection. White chocolate and Iverson will be kings even after death

One of the lost arts of basketball, passing. Williams was so damn good at it. He was literally eyes in the back of his head on the court.
Not sure if you know the meaning of "literally"
hahaha!
Literally eyes in the back of his head Nc comment bro but bad grammar lol
thats the truth right there.

yeee but Ronaldinho won tho he was 1 of the best of all time in football(soccer)
Great teams win championships, not just 1 player.
Darkzz Lord yes he eventually won but @an old Age and he was with D Wade, Shaq, Payton, Morning, Walker etc.
Darkzz Lord he was a role player..wasn't the driving force like in sacramento
Darkzz Lord Wade the role player?? lol Wade was the MVP he was the main guy haha I'm out!
One of the most underrated point guards ever!
David Green what he might even be a little overrated
Super Sayian Gohan I don't think so cause when have you ever heard anybody ever talk about him in any NBA conversation lol

When you play with a passer like that you know to always be ready.

Whats wrong with this style of basketball in the nba? Call it "street balling " or whatever. Its BEAUTIFUL. We need this in the game today.

Brian Fantana
