Yeah it's exactly what day6 says when releasing Zombie. They want to tell us that you are not the only one who feels like zombie.
'I need somebody' by day6 is a must! I love that song sm😫
Day6 has one of the best discography out there, musically and lyrically. Their songs always feel like your favorite blanket on a cold winter evening, warm and comforting. If you get the time, you should definitely check out - I wait , You make me and sweet chaos.
Demon album was released a few months after pandemic started, in it was such a pain and relief at the same time, because all days really felt the same.

Okay fun fact time: His memories in Congratulation are all faded and scratched. While hers are totally bright and colorful and her face show fondness of that time, the only time that her memories are grey is when she is breaking up with him. The lyrics too show how each one of them remember that relationship. Congratulations and You were Beautiful are definitively my favotites song from Day6 ( + I Smile).
The release of zombie hit at a time when it struck a chord. I am FEEEEEEELING the message. Everyone around moving jobs, following dreams, getting married, having babies etc and I just am the same having now realistically no way to go back to my dream work do to physical health changes. Grief also took a huge place and still does in my life, and even though it’s better than it was at this time it’s still in the rut. Thankfully I have friends and kpop that help me still see the light here in the dark corner of the abyss and in that remains hope. So for all the folks who have family or ppl around that roll their eyes at kpop or the fact that you enjoy it - ignore them. If a group or multiple groups give you laughter, excitement, music that makes you feel like a boss but can also make you cry with the emotion, a sense of community, new folks to share that with all over the world…then it’s done more for you than the person standing 2ft away. Folks don’t have to like it, but they shouldn’t look down on it or what any source of comfort helps YOU.
Day6 lyrics have a way of cutting yo the core of raw emotions without being rough or aggressive but sympathetic and because the members always express and share their own feelings it’s with sincere empathy.
Any group that can do that has my respect.
I personally have soft spot for young k and his voice but also his mindset and his open warm personality with so many other idols. He is open about his fears and has shared his experiences but still encourages a positive outlook through music.
I’m glad you got to these mvs, beautiful is so complete in that it can mean multiple things to ppl in the context of many different situations. It’s also a bop. Zombie is that bitch. Lol the English version is also excellent. I have it on the English mix playlist of all kpop that I play at work so folks don’t even realise they are listening to it. Lol
There is an AAAAAAmazing live vocal they did for “I’ll try” that just has lovely cosy vibes that has a stunning accapella harmony section to die for.
There literally isn’t a time that I watch “you were beautiful” that I am not crying by the end. Such a powerful story throughout the 2 music videos & such amazing acting! (And music of course!)
Next shoud definitely be Time Of Our Life and Sweet Chaos ❤️🔥
Zombie is my favorite Day6 song for sure. You should also check out the english version of this song, it has a Lyric video with animations. The lyrics are a bit different on that one, but has the same meaning. The lyrics of the english version are more direct, which makes them hit even harder to me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: "Zombie" is my depression anthem. I love that it doesn't say things will get better. People tell us that enough when we're dealing with depression. Rather, it provides the comfort that we're all in the same boat.

I always listen to it when it's one of those days and for some reason I couldn't get it out and express it. Just go into a corner and listen to it.
I get what they are trying to say and what you said, it's been a while since I've felt I am stuck and that time was/is being lost and sometimes I wish people could just get into my head because even though I explain it is hard for most people to get it. One of the many things i love about Day6's MVs is the actors they hire. They get like some of the best actors for their videos. They conveys the story perfectly.

i barely watch any day6 mvs, even though i have a lot of their songs saved on my phone. this showed me that i really should, because their lyrics are heartbreaking.

Zombie has an english version which also has an animated video, it hits even harder because we can understand it. Hopefully you can check it out! DAY6 put this song out not knowing that right before this song and album was released two members took a break for mental health reasons. ❤
You were beautiful is a very sad song. I often fucking lose it whenever i sing on karaoke.
One thing I realized a couple years ago and it helped me a lot: actually nobody, like NO ONE, knows how to live this life properly/right/etc. Couches, successful people, friends, none. Only we are ourself can live our lifes in our tempos with our own mistakes, tries and only those ways are right for us individually (or not but no one still doesn't know).
Zombie isn't about it but it seems what you said after is a bit close

For me the English version of Zombie hit so much harder not just bc it’s in English’s I’m from America but for me personally I felt more passion and I felt more connected to the message of the song

I like the meaning behind Zombie but the song itself...i just dont feel it. Not my fav comeback. As a rock/metal fan you should definitely check out Sweet chaos and rescue me at some point. Especially the intro of Rescue me is heavy and i love it.
