    Thank you, very well composed. I travelled to Jalpaiguri from Narendrapur last week and it took me almost 15 hours , followed same route as yours. The B2B road conditions is bad at some places and overall drivable. I was stopped by police just before crossing Gouranga Setu , not sure why they let me go without checking anything. I assumed they let me go after seeing my 3 years old boy accompanying me with my wife, however I do not like their intention. Also the entire highway stretch in Murshidabad and some in Malda is barricaded with sand/stone filled barrel at every crossing and bikes driving irresponsibly.Everything else was fine.

      That is why i prefer starting from kolkata at night... No barricades to bother about and local traffic at berhampore, debagram can be easily avoided.. However, dense fog can be an issue especially during malda-raiganj-dalkhola stretch and there are reports that cars are taking dalkhola bypass nowadays with a bit of offroading

    I took 12 hours via dalkola. I took a right lane where traffic is accumulated like malda and dalkola. Return time took 17 hours

    • @TheUrbanNomad
      @TheUrbanNomad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      While returning I could see only 30 mins difference between Dalkhola and B2B so continued on highway itself! I believe once Dalkhola railway over bridge is operational. It will reduce the drive by 1 - 1.5 hours!

    Hi Guys, Thanks for this video! There are very few videos in English for Kolkata to Silguri road conditions. We are traveling from Chennai and will be covering this stretch sometime next week.
    Google maps gives the route as Kolkata- Burdwan -Farakka- Malda but most recommendations on TH-cam are for Kolkata- Dankuni - Mogra - Nabadwip - Morgram - Farakka - Malda. May I know what is the difference? which is the best route in terms of road conditions and traffic. Thanks in advance!

    • @TheUrbanNomad
      @TheUrbanNomad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much! I am a Bangalore-based TH-camr and thus create content in English for the pan-Indian audience! Glad you found it helpful!
      Coming to your point! Are you folks touching Kolkata? If so later route via Dankuni - Mogra is the best way to avoid Krshnanagar. But if you are not planning to visit Kolkata, you may take Burdwan. But until a few months ago so parts were patchy in this route, Not sure if those are covered now.
      The distance from Kolkata to Burdwan is close to 100 km, so most people from Kolkata don't take that route.

    What is the present condition of Bengal to Bengal road? It was very bad when I gone during Nov'2022

    • @TheUrbanNomad
      @TheUrbanNomad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are coming from Raiganj and take B2B from Botolbari, it is pathetic. But if you come up to Karandighi and take B2B from Domohona, the road condition is between bad and manageable. I would say better to come till Karandighi and take a call based on current traffic condition. If Dalkhola route is showing 30-40 mins more, then worth to take that.

    • @jyotishsengupta1466
      @jyotishsengupta1466 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheUrbanNomad Another problem with B2B is narrow roads, where I personally refrained myself from going over 4th gear.. Low speeds, narrow roads zig zagging through villages, chickens, goats and cattles doing anarchy... Its a mess...

    Sir has the Dhalkhola bypass been opened? Also post Krishna Nagar how are the roads now to Siliguri? Finally how much toll price is needed- last i think was around 350...planning to drive to North sikkim in May...

    • @TheUrbanNomad
      @TheUrbanNomad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rahul, Regarding Dalkhola bypass there is a lot of conflicting news! Some say they have used it while others say it is not been officially inaugurated. The road after Krishnagar is heard to be in better shape than when I traveled a couple of months ago. I believe around 380 rs toll I paid. Have a great holiday and drive safe!

    • @TheUrbanNomad
      @TheUrbanNomad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on what do you want to see and experience , but let me break it down for you.
      During summer and monsoon (April - August) the entire strech of east coast will be hot and humid! The drive and stay in WB and Odisha may not be pleasant!
      Things start to get better afterwards!
      In case you don’t want to miss the most fascinating festival on earth, do consider visiting during Durga puja.
      Otherwise the best time would be between November and February. The weather is pleasant you get plenty of seasonal good food!

      Both Sikkim and Mizoram observe heavy monsoon during June - July! Unless that is what you want to experience, reconsider your travel time. And most National parks in this region is closed between 15th June and 15th September.
      Saying so, hills during rains have own charm!
