Am I the only one who thinks how the hell does Brother Subboor keep getting these top-class guests on his show, and why are the viewer numbers lower than, for example, an iShowSpeed and why do I have to think of the film idiocracy right now 🤔
Michael Ruse is looking like he is on his death bed. A year from now he will be rallied as a great philosopher. Shame he doesn't change his views before meeting the grave.
This is the kind of content I want to see more of. Taking two academics and world-renowned in different philosophy circles, and have them talk about the mind-body problem in consciousness is brilliant.
There is no way where i can imagine that the laws of logic and mathematics are a happy coincidence, for me the laws of logic are eternal immaterial it is in us and it's that thing that remains after we die, i just can't explain the metaphysical necessity of the laws of logic in a materialist point of view, i can't explain the concept of Truth either as well especially when you add determinism in the picture which dualism can solve btw.
"If there were no eternal consciousness in a man, if at the bottom of everything there were only a wild ferment, a power that twisting in dark passions produced everything great or inconsequential; if an unfathomable, insatiable emptiness lay hid beneath everything, what would life be but despair?" From 'Fear and Trembling' by Kierkegaard
Stephen Law's blatant ideological attachments prevent him from understanding things in nuance. It is not a strategic immunization from criticism because the epistemic framework you are using and the philosophical assumptions you have that you use to criticize it present many internal inconsistencies.

This requires attention and people would rather scroll TikTok than gain knowledge
