A lot of the reason for this song being so hardcore versus the other "cutesy" girls is because Elphelt is literally a death metal vocalist in universe now. Edit: the "carnival music" bit is actually supposed to be in a similar vain to "amazing grace", which is a song often played during weddings. Elphelt is a lunatic obsessed with trying to marry basically every man she sees. Its kind of her gimmick.
Why you hating on the "slow" parts like it's not a part of a songs natural musical structure? Even if it was in the context of a "Fighting" game song, even 10+ year old GG music had slow parts sometimes.
A bit late, but really enjoyed hearing your takes in all of the theme tier list videos. Even got me to watch the vod, which was a lot of fun too. Not gonna nitpick about placements, or criticize you for "not getting it". Something I love about the Guilty Gear Soundtrack has been that context can help you enjoy the themes, but it isn't really all that necessary. Seeing your views as someone not extremely deep within the Guilty Gear circle was kinda refreshing.
"I'm scared of the laughter but, I love to laugh myself. Hear the words I only like, " "I just want you for my own, more than you could ever know. Make my wish come true,"
Something interesting to note about those theatrical sections on a lot of characters, those moments come late in the song. Late enough you're not likely to ever hear it in a match. They're almost always symbolizing a section of removing the mask and being earnest. Elphelt I believe is an exception to this rule, where that section is almost parodying how she was in the previous game. Not exactly making fun of herself as much as showing how much she's changed. It's really interesting to me seeing your ratings because you're going purely on the vibes of the song. The context definitely makes a massive difference, but that's not to say it should influence your rankings anyways. It's all just taste and opinion, after all.
Okay. I spent 5 minutes watching this, waiting to hear a single good take- and I just didn't. A lot of what is said here is coming off as someone who has either ONLY played Strive or as someone who doesn't play GG at all. Elphelt's music is themed after a mixture of christmas music, death metal and wedding themes which pay homage to the fact that she is a love obsessed nutjob who has hit on nearly everyone who isn't a girl or a child (sol and ky i believe are exceptions). nothing about this is carnival, and judging from your takes on the themes of other female characters, you don't really understand the characters who they go to either. Jacko is about reckoning with both sides of herself, as well as showing off her naturally happy go lucky attitude (sorta why she wears a mask, dude) May is...literally...her having a crush on her adoptive dad, Johnny. Why wouldn't that be peppy and upbeat? Bridget has always been an upbeat character, and her theme focuses on her realizing her identity and who she is as a person. But your take also ignores the theme of other female characters such as Baiken's, Millia's, Giovanna's, Ramlethal's and I-no's themes which focus on the 'badass' feel you are going for. Judging by your channel as it focuses on Tekken, I don't think you play too much of Strive nor do you have familiarity with GG's setting. You may want that familiarity before you judge a theme, especially when the appreciation of it is different if you know the character's lore.
I feel insane that i genuinely really like Ramlethals theme. And partially jackos theme. Something about it just makes me wanna sob because sometimes you just want mundanity and i get that. I can't bring myself to listen to mays theme because of uh.. Yknow, but damn if it isn't catchy. It's fundamentally a good song despite what it's about it
"The woman" What if i told you... it's all one singer?
Bro didnt realize the mariah carey in the middle
She was born on Christmas so that was so fitting lol

whole vocal was sang by one person
Yeah I got told that later and it's incredibly impressive!!
"Uh, the change-up to the woman!"
... How do we tell him that they're both the woman?
PD: Also, I know he knows now, I just wanted to do the joke.
S Tier and i will accept no other answer
Yeah!
If you look like Elphelt Valentine hmu
That slow part near the end will rarely if ever happen in a fight since it's at the end of the song and the battles usually don't last that long

Jack o's Strive theme was never going to be like this because they weren't going for that.

When i think about strive, i just cant put them in the same vaccum with others fighting games, at this point they are their own kind.

Bedman lore is literally god has abandoned his soul. 😭
