Wow! How could Mrs. Magdad not like this beautiful kitchen tool? It's a fantastic pasta cutter just on looks alone. More bulbous handle makes it easier to hold and use. Wonderful job as usual.
Replacing the handle was a good idea. As you said, it looked like someone put the original handle through the dishwasher. I love the transformation of walnut from dull bare wood, to vibrant colour and grain once some finish is applied. Your favourite combination - wood and brass. The brass always looks terrific when polished. The handle looks comfortable to my eyes. Very well done, I hope this gets a lot of use over the years. Dave.
A couple dozen ravioli would be nice lol, That pasta cutter made me hungry. That is one beautiful cutter for sure. Mrs Magdad will love it I am sure of that.
Nicely done Bud!! A piece of Gabbige to a Family Heirloom, something we can pass on to Magdaughter when the time is right!! Merry Christmas to you and the Mrs!!☻
I am so glad that you replaced the handle with such beautiful wood from Big Vic, nice gift. The tiny lathe worked great and the brass is also, beautiful. Almost too nice to use.
Another fine Restoration By Mr Magdad and Mr Chuck The Pasta/ Pastry wheel looks beautiful and there is no doubt Mrs Magdad will love her Christmas gift .. Take care and enjoy your Sunday looking forward to Wednesdays Christmas Special
Nice job on the handle. Every year my mother would make homemade ravioli for Christmas and used a cutter like that to cut out the ravioli squares. I hope Mrs Magdad makes you something delicious with it.
Thanks Magdad, the tiny lathe strikes again, that Pasta Cutter is now a piece of art, I'm sure Mrs Magdad will love it, the brass and Walnut contrast beautifully ! With a bit of luck you might get some nice homemade Ravioli too, Merry Christmas !
You have that to the point of almost to nice to use, but, I am sure the Mrs will get around that, and I hope you enjoy the end product the little kitchen appliance helps produce. Thanks for the video, enjoyed watching.
Man, the stuff(especially knives)people ruin in a dishwasher. The pastry wheel came out beautiful. And that walnut handle is primo, as they say in Italy. Buon Natale!
Now that had to be a great day in the shop getting to use all those cool tools you've restored! The new handle design is nice i think and Boy it's hard to beat walnut especially combined with brass. The misses will love it! Awesome job! ans Thank ya brother, Merry Christmas to Yall!
You sure did right by it. Very nice restomod. (IMHO, whoever put it in the dishwasher didn’t deserve it.) Merry Christmas to you, Mrs. Magdad, Daughter Magdad, and Chuck!
Great show today Magdad!! I’m assuming Ma Magdad know what you and Chuck are giving her for Christmas. Maybe she will make you a pie with it !!! Awesome job! Love the handle! I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday!!
I Believe You have honed your lathe skills Alot!!! Time to move on to bigger better lathe!!! Beside, can't wait to see what Chuck come up with, on the tiny lathe!!! Merry Christmas Bro 357MD and Family👍💯🎄🔥🙏🗡️
Nice Christmas project. You might find it useful to have an Irwin Dovetail Hand Saw (Model 2011491) - the saw is a Japanese pull saw with fine teeth and narrow pull blade - around $15. Can be used as a zero clearance saw. I have even used mine on plastic when I needed precise cuts.
Beautiful restoration MAGDAD. My only comment is regarding the sanding and polishing. It seems it would be more advantageous to sand and polish while the handle is on the lathe for stability rather than the drill press. While watching I was worried the top of the handle might crack/break due to the lack of support on the base. Just a thought…
Man.... I gotta one of these for my wife now MagDad 😂. She'd love one to fancy up her creations lol.
I hope Mrs Magdad makes ravioli!
That looks so much nicer now, I'm sure Mrs. Magdad is gonna love it.
Thanks George! I hope so!

Thanks Lucian! I can't sand and polish the butt section while it's still in my tiny lathe.
Probably belonged to Chef Boyardee back in the day.
I hope Mrs Magdad make ravioli!
I hope Mrs Magdad isn’t watching your channel-and that Chuck knows to keep his beak shut before Christmas!
It's OK, it's not a surprise gift. I had her try out the handle shape. She likes it!
