    Great video! If you don't mind, I'd like to mention that that audio track will follow the tempo track if you go into Audio-Advanced-Set definition from tempo before making your tempo changes. Then you can ramp or jump and the audio will follow it right along with the midi.

    Thanks that was really useful. I'd never really bothered looking into many of those but now realise I've been doing things the hard way all this time especially the arranger which I'd tried before but I couldn't see the purpose. Now it makes total sense!

      Yeah! I never messed with the arranger track either and I'm not sure if I will, but at least I know it exists now.

    Out of all the people saying about the vocals. Maybe the vocals he wanted to show you can make great out of bad. I honestly don't think he did those dronny vocals just to show how good he is at vocalizing. Rather than show if starting with bad . You can turn into something good by different possibilities. Out of bad vocals. Some points I here Pink Floyd back ups . "They say" The higher back ups added higher note. I liked the vid great small tutorial on all the different Tracks you can do. Thanks for that. What would be great is if you could do a Separate vid for each track you can do . Like you did your video track video. I got that one too. If you could do a vid for each one separate but from scratch. Show the set up and how you began it and how you can manipulate it, like you did with this one. Like one for Chord Track, Folder Track, Arranger track looks really good, Signature Track, Tempo Track. All of them in their own Vid on how to open, Use, Use with other Tracks, Especially on Video Track how to load video's and music together to use the Video Track, What cameras work best with Cubase's Software and Best way to record (Speeds) Everything. To get best results for Video. What is the better way. Everything. You did a great Video one before. I got that one. But to start it out from scratch. to see how you load everything. Line it up, Edit it. Then Export it to what for different Media like Spotify, Facebook .All the different media places that take your music videos. And Audio recordings. Thanks for the Tutorial. Keep E'm Coming.

    Halion sonic..What would use more processing? 5 seperate instances of the instrument (5 individual vst instrument tracks) with 1 patch per instrument.....or 1 instance of halion with the same 5 patches spread across the different midi channels (using it multitimbral..ly) hope that makes sense. I presume I'm saving processing if I use just the one instance and spread the patches over the different midi channels..

    Back in the day, C-Lab Notator (the first ever pre-cursor of Logic Pro) on the Atari ST (!!!) provided ONLY the arranger track as a means to finalise a project! There was no arrangement page as such at all. It provided just a pattern page (almost like a multitrack drum machine), where after finishing all the various multitrack patterns (just MIDI at the time), these would then be "chained up" in any desired order inside an arranger page to finalise the structure. However, as in this case, there were always problems with either unpredictably cut or overhanging midi notes at the "link" points between the pattern changes that one had to try and avoid somehow. So beware. It is not as simple as it looks, especially now that audio effects are involved in the link points as well.

    No pun intended but the transpose track cannot easily be demonstrated with your material, as even without the transpose track, your vocal material still sounds as if it is already constantly transposing itself anyway :-)

    Nice job! Just recently got back into CB. I thought version 5 allowed double click track editing. That was one of Auditions greatest feature. You double click an audio track and it opens up in edit mode where you can tweak what you need ie: popped p. Can this be accomplished in CB 9.5 Artist. Thanks in advance. jingleman

  • @american_cosmic
    @american_cosmic 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    So this might be a stupid question... but why would you route a MIDI track to that vocal track in order to apply the wah rack effect, when you could just add a Guitar Rig insert to the vocal track and do it that way? That way you're just dealing with one track. Or is that the whole point of using the instrument track, and you're just explaining another way to do it?

    I think they have missed a trick with the arranger. Like with cell phones icons, why can we not drug the section and briefly hovver it where we want it to insert, just like shuffling phone app icons?

    Sheesh...and here I thought it was complicated...! No really I just got my first distortion applied to my first rubbish bass riff, but I shall persist. Not saying my PC is old, but it's the sort of thing Judge Dredd prowls around during block wars on that nuclear-powered two wheeled abomination of his. Thanks, this is liked, as a good reference guide to the plethora of track types. Dredd...get off me USB cables...

    Please, just a well-intentioned tip: Stop making videos where your singing can be heard. Otherwise there could be a lot of Cubase users who don't watch your videos completely. You certainly want to achieve the opposite with your videos, namely that as many viewers as possible benefit from your tips. 👍

    Such a shame you didn't think to use a royalty free vocal rather than your own vocal. I mean, it might (or might not) have been a little funny at first but really it just gets in the way of what would have been a nice tutorial.

    I still haven't understood the difference between instrument tracks and MIDI tracks.

    • @jnavarro822
      @jnavarro822 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      In older versions of Cubase you had to load a vst instrument and control it from a midi track. This just consolidates the vst and the midi data controlling it into one track and calls it an instrument track. A midi track can be used to control and external keyboard, sound module, internal effects, etc.

    Yikes! 16 track types in Cubase! Know how many are in REAPER? One. It does everything. One tool. Why anyone is using anything else aside from lonely musicians who need Logic to play music for them or film scorers who use DP or Nuendo is beyond me.
