Making Snail, Seed & Shell Jewelry on Rota, NMI, Micronesia 1967-69

Girls on the island of Rota taught Kit Porter, PCV, how to make necklaces using snail and sea shells, and seeds (tangan tangan, Job’s tears, red, brown). She describes the girls helping her at her home and then going to collect seeds and shells and later make necklaces. These necklaces are shared with friends and family.
