I'm very thankful for my son introducing me to some great alternative bands and these guys are one of them. What a brilliant song. I'm 67 now and it bothers me that a lot of people my age think the music today is inferior to the music of our day. All I have to say is that listen to bands like this. I'm sure most would change their minds.
A lot of the highest-charting pop songs lately are worse than bad, but there are certainly good songs and bands out there, many of which aren't played on top 40 stations.
We were a couple of 60+ year olds at the show Sunday night, we are also big fans of Milky Chance...who were outstanding. YTG has something really special going on....and I consider myself an old school punk rocker. Tour is still ongoing...get out and support these bands!!!!
I agree. I'm 62 and i played out with a band back in the late 80s, and this song has such a great sound, great mix. It had the feel of a 90s well done pop rock song, almost like the Fixx, Peter Gabriel, the Smiths, (a little) Midnight Oil, just good rock bands that had a slash of the Brit rock pop sense, nice chord changes, multi tracked 12 string, all done well. Perhaps I'll check out more of their stuff
Most music today IS garbage. But so was most music of "our day." Two of the greatest gifts that we Boomers were given: the ability to hear so much GREAT music when it was still fresh, and the ability to forget the garbage.

I've been going through a spiritual growth spurt in my life. My brother was in the hospital a few weeks ago and fortunately he is better now but things were looking grim for a while. Because of that I have been thinking about life and realizing that I was dealing with some pretty heavy emotions that I repressed. Right now I really wish someone would walk me home on my path of healing.
They just can't stop throwing fire! I was bedridden and dying for 2 years and came across a live concert and they played Cough Syrup....I cried, my wife cried and their music really walked me through such a dark time. Please don't stop my friends!

I lost both parents within the last 4 years and have put off dealing with the grief that comes along with such a traumatic loss. Heard this song the other day and it just hit me right where I was least expecting. The deluge of emotions that followed were overwhelming. Touché, TH-cam algorithms and Young the Giant; you got me where I probably should be facing reality.
I have followed this band since their first record. I am proud of what this young man has become. I had met him as a high school student in Irvine. Look at him now. Love your music Sameer. Keep it up.
